I typically wear size 8 shoes, although sometimes 8 1/2, depending upon the style. My forefoot is wider than my heel, I have high arches, and I cannot stand for my toes to be squished. The many reviews I read variously instructed me to size up, to size down, to be aware that they fit like a glove, and to watch out for excess stretching. The only consensus was that if you were not careful, you would slip and fall. I ordered 8 1/2s and resolved to tread cautiously. They fit snugly but not painfully. No toe-squishing and no cutting into my heels. I took a chance and wore them to work the next day. After 15 hours of wear with lots of walking- inside, outside, up and down a grassy hill, climbing bleachers - they stretched a little, but only just enough to be really comfortable now. If they should continue to stretch, I will get inserts. So far I have not experienced the reportedly treacherous slippery soles. I am so pleased with these that I just ordered them in another color - also size 8 1/2.

I've been looking for a ballet flat I could actually walk in and I found them! I love these shoes. I was able to wear them out and didn't even need to break them in first, that's how awesome they are. I'm a Frye customer for life now.

These are super comfortable flats. No breaking in needed. However, I do suggest you skuff the bottoms before wearing them for the first time. They are very slippery!

Cute and soft leather. Runs small (on one foot). I would like to re-order a size large but I'm afraid they will be too large. Also, this is not the type of shoe you run around for several hours as they don't have any support. But they will be okay for short errands or a casual occasion where not much walking is involved.

They were too small. This is not good because other reviews said they were pretty true to size.

I've had these for about 3 weeks and have worn them probably 2-3 times a week. They are a perfect neutral leather color to transition from darker winter colors before you are ready for summer sandals. There isn't any arch support as others have written, but the leather is soft (and breaks in quickly to become even softer) and the shoe is much more comfortable than many of this style that can rub or be too tight across the base of the toes. I am consistently an 8 in most shoe styles but often go to a 9 in ballerina styles. The 8.5 fits me perfectly in this shoe. The leather shows any kind of water mark or stain very easily, but I think this shoe will continue to look better and better as it ages.

This is an extraordinary ballet flat. I have a Size 10 foot that leans toward the wide wide across the toes and I have a narrow heel. I've always felt like most ballet flats are not flattering or they are so unstructured and offer little support. I own quite a few pair of Frye boots and I'm about to order the Carson Ballet in more colors. I received the Carson Ballet in the hot pink and the cognac just about an hour ago. I rarely write reviews and I've never written one within the hour of receiving a package. I can't emphasize enough how impressed I am with these ballet flats. I'm forever on the hunt for the perfect ballet flat and I have finally found my brand and style. This is the ultimate pair. I even considered ordering the Porselli or Repetto flats because of all the hype, but I'm so incredibly impressed with the Frye Carson, I don't feel the need. Buy them! You won't regret the purchase.

I've been looking for a pair of nude colored flats for a long time. I needed something that would go with everything without having to put too much thought into it. I'm a tiny bit Frye obsessed so I decided to give these a try. I wanted the blush color or the beige but they were sold out in my Frye flat size (6.5) so I decided to give the banana nubuck leather ones a try. I'm really glad I did! They're super unique looking and the texture is so fun and intriguing. The color is almost a nude but with hints of a yellow undertone. I think the flats are perfect with just the right amount of padding. They're also lightweight which makes them perfect for zipping around. I definitely see myself getting another pair....or three!

Very cute basic flat. I wear an 8 or 8 1/2 but the 8 1/2 was too big. It took about 3 days for the size 8 to break in.

No lie - best flat I've ever purchased. It's super comfy and looks great. And seriously, your best bet, as always, is to order from Zappos. Awesome service and fantastic quality.

These are fantastic flats. Amazing quality and they fit perfectly. The sole is solid leather so they are a bit slippery at first. Simply scuff them on some pavement to prevent slipping.

Really nice shoe - excellent materials and high quality workmanship. The silver finish is beautiful. My only complaint (if you can call it that) is these shoes run slightly large, and I am a bit worried the leather may stretch. However, this isn't enough for me to rate the shoes less than a 5.

I've only worn them around the house but they're very comfortable, almost like walking barefoot. The soles are a tad smooth but maybe walking on pavement will take care of that. The colour matched the picture. I have wide feet and they fit perfectly so they might be loose for people with narrow/average feet. If they had the maroon or indigo available in my size I'd buy another pair.

Great shoes! I usually get blisters from flats and these were comfy. I wore them all day for work (I'm a teacher) and they were great.

I ordered 1/2 size smaller than I usually wear to make sure these would fit, even after some stretching. The smaller size is feels great.

I love these! They are soft, comfortable, pretty for a flat shoe. I just wish that Zappos had the color(s) I wanted in my size!

These flats are gorgeous! I love Frye boots, and I am usually either an 8 or an 8.5. I ordered an 8.5 and it was a tiny bit snug at first, but fits great now. Super flattering cut to the shoe. The leather is soft as butter and the sole has a bit of cushion.

Beautiful pair of shoes. If you don't already own the Frye leather conditioning cream, buy it! It makes a huge difference in how long they stay looking as beautiful as the day the arrived.

I love this shoe. I had been looking for something in the blue tones to wear with skinny jeans. This violet blue color works perfectly.

I love these shoes! They felt good the minute I put them on. They are very well made. The leather is soft and substantial. The style is simple and the color (taupe) is subtle. It looks nice with my summer linens. I plan to order more Frye shoes. The leather is so soft I am even thinking about trying their boots. Of course, it goes without saying that Zappos is totally fabulous!

The other reviews said that the shoe ran a little large. I found that the shoe was comfortable.

These are beautiful ballet flats and very comfortable on the first wear.

These shoes are well made (as are all Frye products) and very comfortable. Everyone complimented me on the yellow color of the shoe! The only thing I don't understand is why most other reviewers say that Frye runs big. I felt this ran true to size but maybe even a little too small. I guess if they are hand made you have to allow for slightly different sizing for each shoe. All in all a great ballet flat - has a little more sole and structure than most other flats and that's what I needed.

I love this shoe. I had read the reviews before buying. I had ordered a 9 thinking it would be big enough to put my leveler inside. With my levelers they are perfect. I wear a 9 or 9 1/2. I bought a 9. I had bought another pair in size 9 1/2 because I wanted to wear them to work and had to have my levelers in. They are perfect. So I wear one pair for work and the other on weekends. I love them and the quality of leather is worth every penny.
