Great for trail! Comfortable after the break-in period, which took me x5 runs. The Gore-Tex is great!
Love the color! Feels really secure and light! I have really small feet - size 4 1/2 - I got the size 5 and I already expected that it will be really loose, but then, you'd want it that way for trail running, so it works for me!
The price is not bad if you really want to invest in a pair of great shoes!

This is the second pair of Salomon Trail Runner shoes I've owned. I absolutely love them. I use them for everyday shoes and do some light hiking in them as well. Once broken in they are so comfy. I am sold on the quick lace system, though, if you are looking for a shoe to run in I'm not so sure these would work as well as regular lace ups. The laces do have a tendency to loosen up a little. I will also mention that when I first put these shoes on they felt narrower than my old pair. But they do stretch out as you break them in.

I love these shoes. The red color is beautiful and different. The shoes are true to size were comfy the first time I put them on. My favorite thing is the cinch which you can tuck away in the little pocket on the top of the tongue. They keep my feet completely dry.

I have had these shoes for two months now and they have become my favorite for walking the dog and running errands. I like the styling, comfort and ease of slipping on and off. I absolutely love not having to worry about wet, cold feet as I walk through slushy sidewalks. I can see wearing these year-round .
I will say, that initially they were very stiff and slipped in the heel. I considered returning them because of this, but I liked the styling so much I kept wearing them. They broke in nicely and are now extremely comfortable. The lacing system is quick and allows for an effortless good fit. They came with instructions for the lacing system, which I guess I should read because there are times when the ends come untucked and flop.
Overall - a fantastic purchase.

My husband has had Salomons since we got married 5 years ago, he loves them. We are very outdoorsy people. We hike 5 days of the week, our vacations are camping trips, and we run a lot. When we were in New Zealand, we saw many people wearing Salomons there as well. My in-laws bought me these for Christmas after I had "brown gym shoes" on my Christmas list. I was so excited when I opened them up. Love, love, love them! So easy to tighten, especially since I have a 2 year old and a 3 month old to get out of the house with me. Haven't run in them yet or hiked in them. I just wear them to go with outfits that need brown gym shoes and they're super cute. Can't wait 'til spring to try them on our hiking trails around here.

A friend recommended these shoes and she was dead on! Amazing traction, waterproof without being making your feet sweat, comfortable, what more can I say? Love them! Also, great service from Zappos as usual. Quick delivery and free shipping an added bonus.

Best insole in any shoe I have ever worn; this is my third pair of these - they last forever. GTX is truly waterproof. A little broad in the forefoot but narrow in the heel, no slippage. True to size, extremely comfortable, great traction.

I have a somewhat low-volume foot, and narrow heels. These have been great for running/walking on dirt roads. I wore them on a hike straight out of the box. Fabulous! I love how the Gortex not only keeps out the water, but also the fine dust.

These shoes are the first pair of trailrunners I've ever owned and I recently took them to Zion National Park for a week of strenuous hikes in the canyon -- both through water and on dirt paths. They were extremely comfortable and lightweight -- my feet never hurt once! They are very comfortable and I like the way they look as well. The only thing I don't really like is the shoelaces -- I would prefer to tie them. Once you tighten them, you have a lot of leftover lace that you have to stuff under the laces or inside your shoe. Overall, I'm very pleased with this shoe and would definitely recommend them.

These are comfortable, fit well, and have a good tread. It will be a very good hiking boot/shoe for travel.

Shoe is a half size smaller than marked, as is the comparable XT Wings. I compared the two and while I am usually a size 6.5, with these shoes I have noticeably one medium and one wide foot. Both fit perfect on one foot, but just alright on the other. The XA feels narrower- not significantly more/less so, but enough for me to know that my foot would cry if I wore them for an hour. It is also kind of stiff/has less padding in the toebox. The heel seems to be slightly thick, but compacted/solid/stiffer, whereas the XT Wings feels a little lower, but that may be due to the fact that it's more padded and my foot probably sat lower as it is softer. The XA footprint is slightly longer, but the shoe is contained directly under the foot- the heel padding of the XT Wings juts out past the side of the foot (which I didn’t like), but these are mainly cosmetic issues, unless you’re like me and like planting your heel in crevices/and or climbing things. Between the two personally I’d go with the XT Wings because of the width issue, but as I compared the non-GTX version of the Wings, I’ll have to try the waterproof ones to be sure width won’t be more restricted with the GTX material vs. the mesh regular.

We like these for general hiking and yard duty. They keep your feet dry in wet conditions.

I have very bad arthritis in my hands and the Salomon pull fasteners are the only thing that works for me. As far as comfort is concerned I found them a bit boxy and loose at the heel. I normally wear a 7, so I stuck true to size but found them on the large size.

Great & awful shoes. These are really solidly great shoes, but the sizing is so messed up its ridiculous. They run 3/4 of a size too big. I've tried them on in stores and had Zappos send 2 different sizes. I wear a 7 1/2 tried these on in several stores and I was swimming in them, like big clogs. Tried a 7 still a little big, 6 1/2 just a little too small. I'm holding on to the 7's for a few days to make up my mind but there's no reason for why they messed up this sizing so completely on what should be the perfect shoe for me. I wanted them for hiking, taking my dogs to the beach, trail running and running on agility courses with my dogs. These shoes have that skill set Gore-Tex, great lacing system, cool black color. But the sizing stinks!
