This coat is extremely warm and will see me through the Chicago winters. I had to order a size up because I tend to layer a lot. The cut is flattering and rather than make me look like a marshmallow, which many coats tend to do, it gives me a nice hourglass figure that is slimming. On top of that, I ordered this at 5pm and got it at 4pm the very next day. Zappos, I love you.

First, I must say I am 5'5" and always need a coat and sweater on and wear a parka in summer many days. My last parka was longer and it is so used as I am homebound by illness - and the only thing I do is garden. That said, this is the worst coat I have ever owned. I left the house on December 29 and could not walk one block and cried, as the jacket did not keep me warm with 2 sweaters on and the wind blew through me. That said, the name North Face is a gimmick of high wage earners to me, not a good coat, but my kids love the style, and to me, yes, nice style, horrid warmth. Once you wash it, forget the factor of warm and do not buy it if you are thin. This is a very honest opinion as I could not get to store for dinner food. And I need to eat big time.

I bought this after moving to Kansas from Houston and it has been a total lifesaver. It keeps me warm even after extended time in the snow and does not get damp easily. The hood and faux fur (along with the high collar) protect my face and neck from the wind extremely well. I also like that it's long and keeps the top of my legs warm. Surprisingly enough, it even looks kind of cute once you have it on (for a huge, puffy winter parka, of course).

After searching for a waterproof down coat for a while, I was so excited when I found the Artic Parka. It is very warm and I love the fleece lining in the sleeves. Also love the removable fur so it won't get wet when it is really raining or snowing. I also really liked how the North Face logo was black so it blends in with the coat.

I bought this coat for my GF after reviewing everything that had the features she wanted for north central PA winters. She loved the color and features of the coat. On the negative side, it was bad enough to have the manufacturer's name tag on the front, but it was also on the back. Still not a deal breaker. She is 5' 3" 109 pounds BMI of 18 with a flexed muscle circumference of 9 1/4, yet the coat sleeve fit like a blood pressure cuff in her words. She had on a knitted sweater that you would wear for style not because you were cold. Her wrist is 5 3/4". Hope these numbers help someone else make a decision. It is a nice coat with a lot of potential, but North Face dropped the ball on this one. I read all reviews and relied on them. Someone else wrote about the tight sleeve, but we dismissed it because it was only one. If the actual measurements were used, we would not have ordered the coat. We will be returning it. As always, Zappos was fantastic in getting the coat to the delivery carrier, but in the rural areas, don't expect it to arrive in twelve hours as is common in a less rural area.

This is the best winter jacket I have ever owned. It fits big. It is nice to have the option of wearing a big sweater in winter, or not, because your jacket is so warm you don't need a sweater!

I love this parka. I wanted a coat for walking outside in the blustery, frigid Wisconsin winters and I found it! It just arrived today. Today was 30° in Milwaukee and I was almost too warm wearing the coat while running errands. So much better than being cold, though! It is the perfect coat for walking to and from work, nature hikes, sledding, waiting for a bus or train or anything else where you need to brave the elements. I am 5'3", petite frame and bought the XS. It fit perfectly, with a light sweater underneath. If you want to wear bulkier sweaters with it, go a size up , although I seriously do not think you will need a bulky sweater because it is so warm. My coat is the Montague blue which is a really pretty navy color. It is fitted, not bulky, but I would not call it sexy as it is a parka, after all! The sleeves have a nice sweater cuff which is an important feature for me to keep the snow and cold out. You cannot go wrong with this coat.

This was my first time using Zappos and it will not be my last. My package was there the next day as promised! Great service and a toasty warm coat for the football game. Fantastic!

This coat exceeds my expectations in warmth fit and style. I have to be out in the Montana cold at least 3 hours a day and despite snow, wind and freezing temps I stay warm. The coat is made well with a sturdy light material that doesn't wrinkle.

I live in Istanbul/Turkey. And I think that this parka can be great also in minus degrees which can be seen in Canada or the US. This is a great product. When I wear it I feel like I am isolated from the outside weather conditions. It keeps me warm, so I can stay outside longer. I can do sports. Also I feel like I can use it for maybe 10 years; it's very durable.

Love this coat! I just moved to the Chicago area and needed a coat that would protect me from the cold. I first ordered it in Graphite Gray but didn't really like the color so got it in black. Today we went for a stroll in the city and it was freezing (20F). I wore it with a T-shirt and thin sweater underneath and felt absolutely cozy! The hood is perfect and so cute! And Zappos made my shopping experience the best possible!

I got this wonderful, fabulous, awesome, amazing, flattering coat last year when the temps were about to drop to below zero. I had been let down by so many coats, so I finally gave in and spent more money than planned. But I will swear to you that it is worth every penny! The coat looks as good a year later as it did coming out of the box. While it collected a lot of lint (and cat hair) when I first bought it, I think it was just the static from the shipping. I'm a little hippy but small up top and the Medium I got (the size I usually wear for sweaters) works perfectly! I can also fit a thick sweater under it just fine. If you are looking for the perfect winter coat that will last you for years, look no further!

I love the warmth of this coat! It is very well made. Yes, it is pricey, but it is good quality. A coat that may last for years if you take good care of it. It surely beats the Land's End coats I have bought in the past. Our winter has not brought the worst yet, but I trust that with an added layer I should be okay and preapred for even the coldest weather. I would definitely recommend it!

Got the coat in a size medium in eggplant purple color. I'm usually a size 6 and the coat fit okay. Liked the color, wasn't crazy about the parka. For that money, I really have to like it a lot. Made me feel frumpy. So, I'm still searching for that perfect warm coat for our frigid Minnesota winters.

Lovely coat - very warm. Fabric is rather stiff and it does bell out slightly at the bottom. Love the warm sleeve cuffs.

This is a great coat; strikingly similar to the more expensive Canada Goose down coats. The eggplant color is really lovely, and not overwhelming at all for a purple. The Small fits me perfect. I wear a 2-4, 5'8", 130lbs. The arms are long, coat length is great. I am ready to brave another VT winter in this coat!

I ordered this coat several weeks ago, but have not worn it yet due to the warm weather. I plan to keep it for sure. The style is great and is exactly what I thought it would be. I am 5'5" and 135 pounds and found the medium size to be just right. I was lucky to know someone who had purchased one last year and I was sure that it would be a great coat for the cold weather.

I ordered this jacket and it was delivered in 2 days to my front door. I go to work at 5am in Chicago and the jacket keeps me from the harsh elements of winter. Toasty. North Face and Zappos did a great job.

I posted my review of this jacket on 1/18, and am following up on it. I returned this beautiful parka to Zappos due to it being just too hot for me. If I lived in a northern state with colder and longer winters, I would keep it, but the DC-area winters don't go too long for me to justify the high price-tag. Otherwise, a great jacket, as I posted earlier.

This is a great, warm coat. Everything as advertised. The hood is exceptional at keeping out wind. Detailing in the back makes for a flattering silhouette.

I love the Arctic Parka it is a good investment for me. It fits well and look better than discribe in pictures. It goes with every outfit I put on. Now I'm looking for matching boots. The only draw back is the zipper, it comes open when I sit down in the car, but it also a plus it keeps the coat from ripping if you have a large backside.

The warmest coat I've ever owned. So grateful! Waterproof and Wind-Proof. A little bulky, but hey, it's an Arctic Parka!

This is a great coat, but I ordered a large based on the reviews (I wear a size 10) and it was too big. The coat fits true to size.

I have always wanted a North Face Coat, but thought it was too much money. When I received the coat and wore it, I realized it was the best thing I ever did and it was worth every cent I spent. Great color (the navy) and it keeps me really warm, especially since we have been having some bad weather lately. Do not think twice if you need a coat.

I love this coat! It keeps me warm in the freezing Chicago winters. The other day I walked my dog in -10 degree weather and I wasn't cold at all. Highly recommend. The only draw back is the zipper can be difficult to zip.
