As a bird watcher I have been searching for a durable pack for travel with a large compartment that will hold all my optics, and one that has a separate computer section for easy TSA access. It also has smaller packets for those things that fall to the bottom. Love it!

I am a middle aged adult who is also a full time student majoring in English. Translate this as commuting student who hauls a full day's worth of snacks, drinks, books, and a laptop. I also live on the northern prairie which means my gear must be able to stand up to the elements. In the summertime I am also a motorcycle rider. I love this pack because it is available in bright colors, increasing my visibility as a rider. It is weatherproof which means my precious books and laptop are in no danger from the elements. there are lots of slots for pens, thumb drives, steno pads, and much more. When I walk across campus, the center of gravity is perfect with this pack, meaning I feel in no danger of a slip and fall. The two side pockets are perfect for 1 liter Diet Cokes or Camelbak bottles. Did I mention a lot of interior storage? Or a padded laptop sleeve on the inside? I will be lost if Patagonia ever discontinues this line.

This has been one of the best online-buying experience I have ever had. Kudos to Zappos! Everything went smoothly, from the ordering to the reception of the package. About the Fuego Pack 32L, what can I say? Just the best backpack you will ever own. Great bag! support back. Lightweight. Spacious. Fit my 16" laptop with more space to spare! It's hard to find a nice, stylish bag that is as organized as this one. Extremely happy with this bag. Best bag ever!

I found the pack to be roomy enough for all the supplies that I need to bring to work for a 16 hour shift. It is well constructed and the design was well thought out.

I bought this bag for my husband who works in law enforcement and carries many belongings to and from work. He loves it. It is well set up and there are many compartments. I recommend this for anyone!

Loved the bag. Used it on my Croatian recently. Lots of pockets. I like a segregated back pack. Good quality, nice design. When I told someone what we call it here in the states they said with a face that looked like it chewed on a lemon "beck peck". Funny.

I use this to carry my laptop and other materials to go to work. Sometimes I walk and sometimes I ride my bike if I don't feel like driving, so it's very versatile. I have enjoyed it for the past month or so. I don't have anything negative to say about it. It looks cool too. Being all black, it works for business; replacing my previous company issued laptop briefcase that was horrible!

Love this backpack! We got it for our trip to Alaska and have been using it on a daily basis as well for a diaper bag. We have a toddler so we have a lot to carry around...diapers, treats, cups, sweater, hat, etc. It is heavy, but very good quality. I can carry it and I'm petite...but it's more the perfect size for my husband who is 5'10".

Overall, I really like this pack. It seems to be made very well with quality materials. I haven't found any imperfections in craftsmanship. There are several small pockets and compartments to keep little things from getting buried under big things. I really like the size. I can fit 2 laptops, headphones, snacks, and everything else I want for travel, and it still fits under an airplane seat. I do have a few small complaints though. The zipper pulls are tiny and hard to grab hold of. The flap that covers the zipper on the main compartment gets in the way when trying to zip it closed. The shoulder straps could use a bit more padding. This is a solid pack with a little room for improvement.

I really like this bag. It looks very attractive and feels super comfortable - even when fully loaded. I use it for work and while riding my bike. It's also got a convenient Camelbak pouch. This bag is a lot roomier than I thought it would be. It seems to be really sturdy and everything operates as it should. My only grip with this bag is that the zipper pull cords are comically short, as if designed for kids hands. Nothing's perfect.

I just ordered this backpack and was super excited for it. It looks great and has plenty of space for my MacBook Pro 13" as well as a couple 2" binders and larger textbooks. When I started putting my books into the larger main compartment, they kept snagging on the awkward velcro pocket at the bottom-front portion of the compartment. When I put the bag on my back, the shoulder straps pinched my neck, because the straps are pretty close together. Therefore, I have to carry it lower on my back to avoid the pinch. I ordered a different pantagonia pack to see if it's any better, otherwise I'm going to keep this one. It's a great pack and not too badly priced.

I really liked so many things about this backpack. The drink pockets on the sides are generously sized. The whole thing is well constructed and makes a load feel lighter. The organization of the whole thing (the pockets, etc.) is really good. The black on black looks really nice, nice enough to wear the bag in professional contexts. But, I should have been more cautious. Like the other reviews said, the straps are too close together, which is uncomfortable when wearing the bag. The padded straps pinched and chafed against the skin on my neck. The other deal breaker for this bag was that as a 5'6" female, it was a little tall for me. The bag went all the way from the shoulder down to my hips, rather than hitting by low back. Still, I would have kept this if not for the straps.

I purchased this bag as a replacement to the Patagonia Critical Mass messenger bag I was using. The messenger bag was great, but I had begun carrying too much on my commute and needed something that would allow me to comfortably get it all in one bag. This Backpack allows me to lug my 15" laptop, a few files, shoes, clothes and a packed lunch. I definitely push it to the limits and it remains comfortable and shows no signs of distress. I looked at a few other options that were slightly larger for fear that this might not handle all that I needed, but to my surprise, I have plenty of room in it and haven't even released the straps or zippers that provide additional room. Perfect bag for any commuter.

I really wanted to like this bag, and it does have really great pockets. And the colors are magnificent! The shoulder straps are too close together at the neck, however, which makes it unbearably uncomfortable. I tried so hard to overlook the pinching neck, but it makes it unwearable. I'm just going to have to wait and hope they make the same pack with different straps.

Everything about this bag is really cool. But...the arm straps are placed way too close to each other at the top of the pack so they dig into the back of your neck. I was so excited about this bag. Just to make sure that it would be comfortable I put 15-20 pounds in it and tried it on. Immediately it dug into the back of my neck. I adjusted the straps, even emptied out the bag and it was still uncomfortable. I couldn't stand straight or hold my head up comfortably...I know that sounds dramatic but it was bad enough to make me write a review, which I never do. Did anyone at Patagonia try this bag on? I expected top quality from them. Again, really cool looking with lots of pockets and lots of room but I had to return it.

I tried 4 different Patagonia day packs and the straps are so uncomfortable on the neck area, it is unbearable. I've had a Patagonia pack for years and decided it was time for a new one. I don't know what has happened with the design but I don't see how anyone can say the straps don't rub your neck raw within 10 minutes. Very disappointed!
