I bought these for the gym and found that they weren't quite right. I normally wear a size 12 and saw that some people had said these run about a half size small so I ordered 12.5 and they were a pretty tight fit. I can see these shoes being comfortable for running, as long as they fit you.

I tried on the Asics Gel Frantic 5 shoes at the store before I ordered them from Zappos. I tried on an 11½ in the store so that is what I ordered, when they arrived they were just a little too snug, so they got sent back. And just like Zappos advertised, they were easy to send back, and my pair of shoes arrived within two days. The shoes are awesome for running. I switched to the Gel-Frantics from the Asics 2140's and I won't be going back, like I stated earlier they are awesome.

Good comfortable shoes. Looks like they will hold up over the long haul.

Very nice looking shoes, but not very comfortable to wear all day, the heels are odd shaped and hurt my feet. I'm going to try getting good insoles to see if that helps.

These are awesome looking shoes, but I wouldn\'t recommend them to any serious athlete since I\'ve only had them for a month and the heel is wearing down, the left toe is peeling and some of the seams are coming loose in the upper. Quality severely needs improvement, which is very surprising for an Asics shoe.

This shoe was a complete failure. I have owned Asics previously and went for this pair knowing they have been great shoes in the past. These not only provide poor running support, but wear down faster than any other shoe I have ever owned. It throws your heel up in the air while keeping your inside ball of your feet way too unsupported and near to the ground. These are as close to running in Nike Shox as it comes.

These shoes began to break down in less than a month. Really disappointed in Asics. The ankle support weakened, and one of the top lace holes broke on both shoes. This is surprisingly bad for shoes in such a price range. The arch support wasn't firm enough for me either. They're not even that inespensive either. The Asics Gel Frantic is not worth buying.

I was very disappointed in these shoes. Firstly, the support under the heel is very weak. It is made for shock absorption, but gives the shoes an unstable spongy feeling. Also, there is absolutely no forefoot support on these shoes. They are thin soled and have almost no rigidity, so even if you have a normal gait, these could cause you to overpronate. One more problem that I had was the fact that both of the shoes' soles have already started to rip off after only a month, and one of the decorative Asics logos is coming off as well. The back part of the upper has also been weakened just from normal use, so I now have to be careful when putting them on so I don't completely destroy the shoes. I was recommended to buy Asics, but quite honestly they are not even close to being worth it. I have never owned a worse pair of sneakers than these. The only thing I like about them is the style. Otherwise, they are basically garbage and should certainly not be worn for sports since they fell apart before I even started to run a lot in them.

These shoes are thin, flimsy, and only lasted me two weeks before they literally just fell apart!
The seams tore, and the heel of the shoe was destroyed when I jammed my foot into it and it was crushed. If you are hard on shoes in any way, don't get these. They wouldn't even stand up to the most casual use.
These were my first Asics, and most likely my last. The quality is terrible, and Asics should be embarrassed about how fast these fell apart.

These Asics were comfortable until the arch support gave out after only a week. The arch of the shoes would almost completely touch the ground when I put my weight on it, and I only weigh around 180. This wasn\'t what I had expected from Asics. The shoes became painful to walk or run in.
