This review is more about Zappos.com service than the Saucony Progrid Xodus 2.0 Trailrunner. I just ordered the shoe yesterday and it arrived by UPS today. Wow! I guess living in Korea for the last 4 years has dwindled my expectations and anything better than 2 weeks is 'good'. But 1 day? Really? Free shipping and return? Really? Yeah, that just happened. I'll post more once I have a chance to train. I expect to run mixed terrain, mostly flat in Virginia Beach. I'm coming off an ACL/meniscus surgery and am preparing for an 8K in 8 weeks. In the past 3 years I have run in Pearl Izumi SyncroPace III and Salomon XT Wings and will offer a comparison soon. I can say the shoes fit true to size, perhaps a little snug at first, but very comfortable so far. The weight is what I would expect in a trailrunner. Again, more to follow. The picture on the website is an accurate depiction and the shoes are very nice looking without being ostentatious. I look forward to testing the Vibram sole. Zappos.com has never failed, especially when shipping overseas to an APO address. They really shine with East Coast shipping. Again, they've come through with stellar service and I strongly recommend this company. Thanks, Zappos.com

Great trail shoe. Supportive, well cushioned, form fitting. Fits true to size. Rugged but flexible. Functions well over multiple terrains including rock, mud, dirt, gravel, water, creek beds, loose or slippery inclines. Bottoms grip well. One of the better trail shoes I have owned. I'll buy these again.

I usually wear a 7½ in normal shoes; I wear a 9½M in Saucony. I like the Saucony fit at this upsizing. I have worn these for about 20 years with full foot orthotics, and removing the insole. However, I now wear them without orthotics and with Saucony standard insoles. I love the fit and last of Saucony shoes.

The Saucony Xodus 2.0 is unreal. Most likely the best shoe ever put on my feet. Fits perfect, arch support is stellar. May buy a second pair!

I wear a 7 1/2 D street shoe; in Saucony shoes I wear a 9 1/2 M. Have worn Saucony shoes for more than 20 years; was a daily 5-10 mile/day runner; can't do that anymore, but I love this shoe. Have worn it for around 5 weeks now.

I have had these for a week; my dress shoe is 7½D; the 9½ medium in Saucony shoes has always fit great These are consistent with that, too.

Love this shoe; fits like Saucony shoes fit; Saucony runs small by 2 full sizes for me; that's been the case in the two decades I've worn Saucony; used to run with full foot orthotics and that is when I discovered the two size rule for me and Saucony. If they change the master last, I'm screwed.

Great Saucony; Love the Saucony last; dress shoe size is two sizes smaller than the athletic shoe; been this way for the years I've worn Saucony shoes.

I am a casual runner and do use Sauconys. However, my primary activity is hiking and backpacking in the Rocky Mountains. I'm always on the lookout for a rugged, lightweight-ish, breathable hiking shoe with the Vibram outsole. The fact that I wear size 15 dramatically reduces my choices. (Kudos to Saucony for making shoes in this size!) Additionally, I like a tight-fitting heel with sufficient toe-room (without having so much that my foot slides around). Most other shoe options (in my size) are very wide. I am very pleased with this shoe. In the past week I've been up and down a number of mountains and have had no issues with these shoes whatsoever (heel fit, toe room, outsole grip all have been great). Thank you Saucony!

This is the first Saucony shoes I have purchased. I'm not a big runner, but I do include running as part of my cardio exercise. I've had several of my workout buddies tell me Saucony had very good running shoes, so I tried ProGrid Xodus. I love the fit and comfort. I did wear it for some jogs and also some sprints, and so far I love it. Even my wife commented on the cool looking shoes. I may have to get me another pair!

OK, I admittedly bought these shoes because I thought they looked cool. They are actually extremely comfortable, good for those of us with narrow feet and fairly light weight. They are also very sturdy in their construction. I am happy I purchased them.

I am a 37 year old male who runs on average 25-30 miles a week. I run on all surfaces including trail running. I am very impressed with the Saucony ProGrid Xodus 2.0. The Vibram sole is a step up. This shoe is light and has excellent grip on all surfaces. It is not the best shoe for treadmills but is superior when it comes to outdoor and trail running. Its unique design holds your foot stable during crazy trail ascents and the sole just won't slip. The shoe is well made and holds up to the punishment of water, mud, dirt, rain, and cold. The only negative is the crazy colors. I don't feel like a clown in them, but they definitely get noticed. All in all, an excellent shoe.

The Xodus 2.0 is an improvement over the 1.0, especially its more flexible and breathable upper. The sole and midsole are similar between both versions -- very sturdy, stiff, grippy, and excellent for rough and muddy terrain. The Xodus 2.0 is a very specialized shoe -- it is best suited for the trails (both running and hiking), but not recommended for the road or mixed use.

About me. I've run several half marathons over the last few years. I'm not very fast, my best recent time was 2:01 for a half. I am 37, about 6' tall and weigh 195lbs. I've recently started trail running and run on a mix of single track, rooty, rocky and hard pack trails in the Bay Area. For the last several years I've been running in my Asics Nimbus 12's. I've used the Nimbus for the last 3 years or so and have had no complaints. For shorter runs I'll often wear my Nike Free 7.0s. I've only run trails in my Asics. After a 21K and some longer trail runs, I've started to think I need some trail shoes. I was mainly looking for something with more foot protection and a lower profile, but by and large a running feel. The ProGrid Xodus 2.0 felt good out of the box with a slightly lower profile than my Nimbus. I opted to go with the stock sockliner rather than the Superfeet that I typically use with my Asics. I was able to take them out on a sloppy, rainy, muddy day for an 8.5 mile run. For the first few miles my feet felt a bit sore, but I assume that was just me adjusting to the new shoes. I adjusted the lacing. Around mile 4 the soreness dissipated. (Again, I'm also going to try them soon with the Superfeet.) A few things really stood out to me about the Xodus. First off, Grip. I didn't realize how much grip I could actually get from a shoe. These were an amazing improvement from my road shoes and inspired confidence, especially on some of the steeper downhills. They felt good on slippery rock or loose dirt. They also did quite well in mud. Unlike the Nimbus, they seemed to shed mud quite well and didn't get stuck as would sometimes happen with the Nimbus. In terms of stability, they were also quite effective. The shoe felt snug and connected to my foot. No slop at all. Can't speak to durability since I haven't used them more than once. I'll update the review once I have more on that front. I'm also hoping to use them for a 30K trail run next weekend. Here's hoping they'll deliver.

Excellent trail shoe and complement to other Sauconys for the road. I run 30-40 miles a week, 70% in Saucony ProGrid Hurricane 12s, the the Xodus feel very similar, with a touch less stability control. Vibram sole is very sticky and grips well, even when very wet. Ran 10 miles through the rain "right out of the box" on the first day with no problems - no hotspots, no blisters. Great addition to any runners array of footwear.

I purchased these shoes for the strict purpose of playing disc golf, have had some trouble in the past with durability and thought these shoes looked pretty tough. Took them out for their first 2-day tourney and they held up great. My usage may not be typical but if you are looking for a comfortable, light, durable shoe that can handle the outdoors I would take a serious look at the Xodus 2.0.

This is a great trail running, hiking shoe. It feels like walking on a sturdy cloud. I have to admit, I am starting to wear this just around town, rather than for their intended purpose. Great shoe.

These are awesome trail running shoes. It took about four runs to properly break them in, but they have been amazing ever since. They provide plenty of support, are comfortable and versatile. I have used them on pavement and all of the traits that make these shoes great continue to shine through. I highly recommend these shoes for outdoor runners.

Fantastic shoe, and not just the awesome looks. Firm sole. Great traction. More firm than cushioned, and a relatively low heal compared to a lot of non-barefoot style shoes. But this is a trail shoe, and the sole is not suited to pavement except on short distances. I find the grip on dirt, rock, and muck to be much better than Asics for trails. Fits similarly to a 15 Asics trail shoe, which I have always worn until now. I still like my Asics, but I like these differently, perhaps a little more.

These provide good arch support. Think I can forego the Superfeet. I am typically a 12 in most athletic shoes but a 12½ fit best in these shoes.

I bought these for disc golf but have only worn them to the gym so far. They feel great while on the bike and the elliptical machine. They feel awesome while walking, it almost feels like they propel you forward. They are light shoes and feel good on your foot. We'll see how they hold up on the course and on mountain bike rides.
