I bought these boots as a gift for my teenage daughter who had worn out a pair of Magnum style Bates boots that had been purchased at an Army/Navy Surplus store several years ago. I was a bit unsure of these boots at first because they are not as rugged in styling as the Magnums. She loved them! They are still a tough boot but had a sleeker more stylish appearance which she liked better.

I bought these boots because our department supply store stopped carrying the brand that I wore for 10 years. These are the worst boots that I could even think about. It could be that the other brand that I was used to set the bar so high, but these are the most uncomfortable boots that I have ever worn, and I live on a farm and wear boots every day, so I know a little about boots. They remind me of a cheap pair that I got at a big box store one time. They may be good for someone that sits most of the time, but are horrible for someone that has to walk a lot.

I debated on several styles of this type of tactical boot. Ordered a 9 but needed a 8.5 for a true fit. These boots are very comfortable and give me lots of ankle and arch support. Good for concrete floors and standing on a ladder and they bend fine on steps. My knees and feet felt better immediately after wearing these but I didn't write a review for a few weeks in case it was a fluke. It wasn't, these are quality boots. Love the fitted design and the style doesn't look like military with regular blue jeans. One boot rubbed my leg by the zipper so I had to wear thicker socks. It's hard to find fitted boots with my high arches but I love these and will buy them again when they wear out. Love Zappos exchange policy, it was very easy. :)

Good fit size was correct. They rub just a little on one side by the zipper but a heavy sock takes care of that. I would recommend. Good product.

Seem fairly well made, and are largely comfy. I'm not used to an above-the-ankle shoe, so that took a little getting used to. One note: I like to wear fairly thick socks, and don't think I have "cankles" ;) but I ran out of shoelace to put through the top hooks! I had to purchase longer bootlaces for these than the ones that came with the shoes.

Boots work well. Slight discomfort on left boot from the zipper. So I unzipped half way and wore them that way all day. No problems and next day fully zipped and had no more discomfort.

I love Bates. This is my 3rd pair. This is my 2nd pair of Ultra-Lites and they are awesome. I wear mine every day and do a lot of walking and light running with no problems. I also wear my 8" tactile but like the lighter ones more. Great for riding.

Overall they are very comfortable and sturdy. The top of the boot is a bit snug but the boot fit is true to size. I wear them on my scooter and they have great traction.

I LOVE the comfort and durability of these boots. After wearing them 10 + plus hours a day, and got these in 2021, and still wearing them into 2023. I want to get the same boots again.

I have been wearing these boots 8 days a week since February 2011. I wear them as uniform for light duty walking, hours of standing, and also heavy walking on concrete floors. They have just worn out and I am buying a new pair today, on sale!

A friend of mine had a pair of these and I really liked them although after buying a pair for myself, I do not like them as much on me. I wear an 8½. I bought the 8½ and they fit perfectly. The boots are well made, not super comfortable, just ok. I am a boot girl and the more rugged the better but these - I am just not loving them.

I bought these for riding my motorcycle. I liked them in the picture better than l did in real life. But after trying them on I loved them for their comfort! No breaking in. The top of the boot hurt my leg when I walked but loosening the laces at the top, helped. Good quality and construction.

Not comfortable at all

Fit is true to size. Comfort of the foot bed is OK but not fantastic. I have larger calves and had to keep the ties fairly loose to avoid discomfort. Overall a good boot considering the limited availability of boots of this type for women.

Not very comfortable but functional. Will not return them because I'm too lazy but will not buy them again when they wear out. Hoping they'll become more comfortable when I wear them in.

I will be returning these they are the most uncomfortable boot I have ever put on
