I was (and still am) very disappointed with the fit and quality. What was supposed to be leather was more like thin, stiff, glossy plastic. The fit was way too tight in both length and width. The shoes had barely any cushioning and with every step they pitched me forward as if they were uneven from front to back. I've been wearing New Balance for more than 20 years and these shoes were absolutely terrible. Maybe I got a defective pair, but it's not worth the hassle so I'll be buying a different brand from now on. It used to be that New Balance made the only wide sport shoes. That's no longer the case. I should add that I gave the MX623 four stars for style because I think the white/navy color looks pretty good.

It's next to impossible to find my husband shoes that don't cost a fortune, as he wears a 16 wide. Was excited to find these at such a reasonable price, then saddened when we had to return them. The left shoe seems a size size smaller than the right! They are clearly marked the same, so I don't know what the problem was. For what it's worth, he said the right one felt great! It's a shame. We were going to try to just go up a size but there isn't availability.

Very comfortable shoe, but my right one blew a hole out at the seam in the toe. I'm not really sure what I could have done.

These are too narrow in the toe. Even though I purchased a 15 wide, they make the typical mistake of narrowing the toe box, leaving a couple of inches of shoe that no normal foot can use without squishing toes. Usually New Balance is a good shoe, but these are typical shoe designer pointy-toe mistakes.

Bought these for my dad who has become a New Balance fan. He absolutely loved them. Easy to break in and they keep your feet dry if your running errands in the rain

This was the second time I purchased this shoe from Zappos. The first pair lasted two year and I was very happy with their performance.

My husband loves these gray suede MX623 shoes for walking. He walks 6-8 miles per day,and has found them to be the most comfortable. Prior to this he wore them in the white leather,but they were not so comfortable. I hope they come back in stock pretty soon because he wants to buy two more pairs right away.

Got these because I was tired of having foot pain from my other unsupportive shoes. These are a 100% improvement in my comfort and stability around the work place. Also I am a 13 EE and these at that size are a perfect fit for my feet.

I walk over 2 miles per day and put these shoes on with no breaking in required. They support my feet and are comfortable. My only gripe about the shoe is the very short velcro straps which barely reach together to fasten the shoe.

These shoes were great, just what I expected. However, I was blown away by the customer service. I ordered the wrong size initially and thought it was going to be a hassle to exchange them. It was so easy and the turnaround so fast that I will be ordering from Zappos from now on.

As usual with New Balance, the shoe is great quality as advertised. I bought it for the arch support since this same model has served me well in the past. As for Zappos, once again they handily beat the price of the store down the street and with the overnight option I received the shoes nearly as quickly as if I had went to the nearby store.

I work 12 hour days on my feet most of the time and walking, and at the end of the day when I get home my feet don't hurt like they use to. It's a good shoe.

I am a New Balance fan. These shoes are just what I expected. A great walking shoe. The black color makes them a little more suitable for an 'indoors' look. IMHO a bit more 'neat casual' than a brown walker that echoes a hiker. Fine for a casual workplace. If you work on your feet these are fine. I currently live in northern Europe. I also find these shoes to be warmer than the average trainer. I find myself wearing them quite a bit. Like 'em a lot.

Excellent sneaker for walking. Great for casual dress with jeans or khakis. Very comfortable. True "D" width. I have wide feet & these fit perfect. A+ rating.

I wore these shoes every day for a year before they had any noticeable damage and they are well on their way to year two. I will be buying these again.

I purchased the New Balance MX623 in October 2012. I bought a size 13 2E, they are very comfortable and fit great. They are like the shoes football umpires wear, without any stripes or other colored marks, just plain black, which I need for work. Very comfortable inside with a great fit and a good sole, and lightweight. I would highly recommend these shoes. I couldn't review the arch because I wear a custom orthotic and a squishy blue gel insole from Dr. Scholls, so I'm not sure about the arch; I wear this combination with all my shoes.

These were ordered for a friend who is confined a wheelchair. He reports they are fine. They were a replacement from a former New Balance and he is quite satisfied. Zappos was the only place we could find 4E.

If you have never been able to find a pair of shoes that fit well; If you tighten the laces as tight as they can go and your shoe is still loose; if you don't like having to wear two pairs of socks so that your foot is snug in the shoe so you can run or play court sports without getting blisters then you need to get this shoe or any shoe in narrow width B. This shoe has changed my approach to sports. Thank you New Balance for making a proper fitting shoe. Now I know why the notoriously choosy Steve Jobs favored your products for his feet.

Very pleased with this shoe. I wear these shoes as casual wear and like the elevated feel of the heel support. It seems comfortable for walking and standing, such as shopping, malls, art show, etc.

New Balance consistently delivers quality shoes. My son has both a very large and wide foot and it is very difficult to find good shoes that fit him...these hit the mark.

I hope Zappos keeps stocking these, because when mine wear out, I will be ordering another pair. These are great for work or play. They are one of the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn and for me, the support I get from these are "just right," not too much, not too little. Fits true to size and width.

I've got two pair of these NB MX623's and they are really comfortable and for an old guy with big feet, that's what is needed.

I've been wearing these for years. They fit, they're light and comfortable, and they make great lawn mowing shoes when they wear out and I get new ones.

Comfort plus. Great shoe for arch support and walking. Got shoes for elderly father and he thought they were very comfortable and he has bunions. Soles do not mark floor.
