Boot was way to big, despite me typically being a size 10, I needed a size 8.5. otherwise seems good quality for the price

These shoes run very large. Had to return original order for smaller size. Color is much darker than shown in most pictures and from what I've seen in person.

I ordered the distressed brown which shows the lighter color boot, which is what I wanted. When I received the boot it was indeed the darker brown boot. Please correct the pictures of your boots. They are not right. I will reorder, but now I've lost my 10% first order discount. Booo....

Love these boots and have owned a few pairs. But these were too narrow for my feet.

Overall very happy with these. My last pair bit the dust after 10 years of hard wear and tear. Hoping to get the same amount of miles from these. Love the leopard print! Only complaint is that the insoles are not nearly are comfortable as my previous pair when they were new. I ordered a size 8 which is my normal and they were a little loose. Will fit perfect with thick socks in the winter though

I bought these a few years ago and they are rock solid. These are my 'go to' work boot for all my work around the property. I have worn them for countless hours. Took a bit for me to break them in (hence the 4 stars which is more like 4.5) as I have a somewhat narrow heel and I ware them for many hours. Now well broken in I ware them extensively. Waterproofing is very good. In Colorado we get snow...and mud. My feet are always dry in these. And, they are tough! Days of abuse and miss swings with a high RPM weed wacker hitting the boot and not one cut....heck not even a lasting mark. Tough as nails. I use mink oil once a year and these puppies are going to last for a decade or more. Comfort, waterproof, TOUGH, and at very good price. If you are looking for a boot like this...just buy them now.

These are the only boots I've found that work for both riding and hiking - great all-around boots that are also waterproof. I trail ride and they're perfect with half chaps (I don't use the Ariat ones, because they're a bit of overkill for me and I have thick calves - though they do look great with the boots). I just got my second pair. First pair I've had for 4 years of off-and-on use; got the second for a trip to Iceland for riding, where you can't bring used leather gear to ride in. They fit exactly the same as the old ones did - these days that's unusual because many companies switch suppliers and often the fit or quality is different. The only thing I want to warn people, they do stretch in width over time. You can even see that in the photo. I have normal-width feet and wear thick hiking socks, so it doesn't bother me much, but if you already have narrow feet, you might want to look for something else.

You don't know your size. I can only conclude that Ariat does not cross-check their size guidelines when it comes to this particular make of boot, as the size charts (US/UK/EU) do not correspond with the print-out measuring plate. I generally wear a women's 10, and the print-out plate indicated that I should give that a try. Got the 10 in the mail, MASSIVE toe box gave me more than an inch of toe room. Alright, no problem--returned, ordered a pair of 9.5. Almost an inch of toe room. Huh. Ordered the 9s. Toes feel packed in. Moral: do not assume when trying on several pairs of these that the toe room decreases in a linear fashion. Ultimately, as a true women's 10 in every other brand, the 9s were the correct length for my foot, but the break/flex on these boots convinced me to keep the 9.5. Hopefully I will not rue that decision as the ankles loosen (although the laces give me some hope that these will remain usable for quite a while). These, unfortunately, may be a "only buy if you can buy in store" product. They definitely run large. Ignore their sizing chart and subtract a half-size from your sneaker size to get started. And cultivate a good relationship with your local UPS store. At least Ariat's return policy allows some trial and error. Good news--I ended up ordering two different colors in pursuit of the correct size. The photos online are color accurate--the Cordovans are particularly beautiful.

I got these a little over a year ago, and they have held up pretty well for an everyday boot. The break in time took a while, however after a week or two they fit well. The leather is solid, and definitely waterproof. It still holds up well. One caveat with these boots is the fake leather in the front, this material started ripping and breaking down after a few months. If you are looking for a casual every day boot for a reasonable price you can't go wrong with these. If you are working in a field that requires a lot of leg work in harsh conditions, I would go with something more sturdy and rugged.

First of all, I really like these boots. I've only had them for about two months, but I am generally hard on boots. I do a lot of field work in various types of terrain including uplands, swamps, pastures, etc. This is not hiking on a trail, but going in the roughest areas of any property. I got a stress fracture in my right foot last year (wearing different boots), so I looked to find something this year that leaned a bit more towards comfort than utility. I've worn these boots through streams and swamps, horse pastures, upland forests, coastal habitats, and climbing boulders. These definitely hit the mark on comfort as I've had no issues with my feet since switching to these boots. This boot would be perfect if you are looking for a good all around hiking boot. However, I would make a couple of minor changes for my own purposes. The boots have done a good job of keeping the water out until... you overtop them. I've got 15" rubber boots and hip waders for my wettest work, but it would be great to see these in an 8" boot to add a little more utility. The outsoles provide decent traction on dry surfaces, but slip easily in wet or muddy conditions. I little bit more aggressive tread for a hiking boot would be a big improvement. I would not go as far as to say that these are the perfect compromise between comfort and utility, but they are not far off. I would say these run true to size, but different from my Ariat western boots. I wear an 11.5 on western boots, but an 11 in these (and most everything else).

They appeared to be very sturdy, "up to the task" kind of boots. I didn't care for the square toe. Some people will probably prefer them but I didn't on this particular pair of boots. Other than that they seem like good boots.
I'd also recommend:
I actually ended up getting a pair of Old West boots that I liked the style better.

I've owned several pair of Ariat Terrain boots over the years. My wife also. My recent pair though, seem a bit more stiff than usual. I've had them for over a year and condition them with our saddle soap regularly. Not sure what is up with that. Also the quality of their shoe strings has gone downhill. I have an old pair that still have the original strings and get abused in mud and wet conditions... they're still good. My new pair the strings have already frayed and broken their outer lining. On the hunt for a new set already...

I initially purchased a size 10 ( I normally wear a 10.5) and struggled for months trying to get them to stretch out. I had reads other reviews that stated to do this. In the end, I exchanged them for a half size up and they fit perfect! Really comfy and look good. I have heard that these boots last forever once they are broken in. I am in the process of doing that now and they are getting better with every day. Good quality and amazing customer service from Zappos with easy exchange!

I was recommended these shoes when I was looking for a great winter boot for playing disc golf in the cold winter months and sloppy spring. Need to wear thick socks with them cause my feet are pretty narrow which is not a problem by me cause I love wool socks. Happy with the water proof aspect but I still get snow in them and my feet get wet but I don't think it's cause of the boot just the deep snow. I also have plantar fasciitis and they are nice a supportive so I'm in less pain.

I bought the boots and matching chaps for occasional riding - perfect. I took them out for a short hike - blisters even with Smartwool insulation socks on. Ok, I deserved that... Broke them in - hours of heavy gardening with or without socks and they're FLAWLESSLY COMFY. BUT... The soles on both pairs started peeling off - WTH? Guerilla glue with rubber bands until fully dry as a last resort. It worked! - but these were rarely worn and not ever in wet conditions. So why the poor craftsmanship on the soles? Despite all that I will buy again, no one else makes an upper so comfortable once broken in.

I love these boots. They are very good quality for the price. I ordered 7B and although I have a wide foot they are very comfortable and wide enough for some heavy socks.

I bought this boot about a month ago, went by the size of my Fatboy boots and these were too small. No problem though! I returned the boots and reordered a half size larger. they fit good and I wear them to work on a regular basis. The Fatbaby is not quite as tall in the arch area but still fits good.

It's a good Cowboy Boot. I wish they sold all the accessories. Like cedar boot trees and most importantly some kind of cleaner/conditioner, polish, and water proofer. They give a brief recommendation in their "FAQ" but I know some store include it with the boots.

I purchased a pair several years ago and quickly had three pairs of these. They have lasted more than three years with daily use in dirt, mud, and miles of uneven walking. I would recommend them for an everyday boot.
