I've worn Birkenstocks for nearly 20 years, usually replacing them after years of use as the soles finally break down. I've been wearing my first pair of the Mayari style intermittently for 8 months and the cork already has huge deep cracks near the leather attachments where the foot bends. I've never had Birkenstocks that have cracked like this or soles that have broken down this much at only 8 months in. I take care to not get them wet, don't store them in excessive heat, and they shouldn't get too dry in my humid Florida climate. Disappointed at the quick deterioration of shoes I typically get much more wear from.

These were my all time favorite burks, after having them less than a year the strap broke away from the foot bed. There was no way to fix it, my mom said the same happened to hers. Massive design flaw Birkenstock’s

The buckles on these shoes hit at the wrong spot and pinched my foot right away. I can’t imagine them becoming more comfortable over time. Back they go, unfortunately.

The upper material was nothing like leather, felt cheap. Exchanging for the leather uppers

After reading so many positive reviews, I was puzzled when I received the shoes. The quality of the shoe construction was very poor: the suede was glued on crookedly to the footbed. Also, I don't remember reading that the footbed was even lined in suede. It says latex and cork, right? I also found them far from comfortable, and walking in them felt very awkward. In addition, I ordered both narrow and medium and expected the narrow to fit since my feet are slightly narrow and medium width shoes are often too wide for me. The narrow in this shoe was way too narrow and the medium was the right width.

After being diagnosed with tendonitis in my ankle, the doctor told me no more flat shoes. With my flat feet and bunions, I wasn't a fan of them anyhow. So, at his suggestion, I decided to give Birkenstocks a try. I was looking for a sandal in something other than brown or black. Out of the box, these were cute. On my feet, not so much. I'm a B width, but there's something about the way the footbed is cut, that causes it to cut into the bottom of my foot. Back you go. I should have gone with my first choice, the FitFlop Frou in cosmic purple.

Pay attention to what you receive! I ordered these in Black Birko-Flor size 43 narrow. They were too big, so I ordered a second pair in size 42 narrow. The second pair that arrived was a similar-looking sandal from a company called Betula. A quick Google search taught me that this is a sister company to Birckenstock, that typically sells less expensive sandals. I'm shocked that after waiting for the new pair, this is what I got! There are clear style differences (like a first strap that can't be adjusted) and this is simply not what I paid for. Disappointing.

I am so disappointed. I have been wearing these sandals since they first came out. I knew I could order the same style/size and it would be perfect. Not anymore! Birkenstock has made these sandals narrower. They do not offer wide and their "reg" is now way to narrow for me. I will be looking for a different brand for my "go to" sandal. As they were the most comfortable sandal I have ever owned I am beyond disappointed.

For the first time ever, very disappointed in the condition of shoes received from Zappos. I ordered and was charged for the oiled leather, but feel that the incorrect pair of shoes was sloppily placed in the box. Sadly they will be returned as the fit is perfect. Thank you Zappos for always making ordering and returning so easy.

I wear almost exclusively Birkenstocks, I think my body has actually molded around the Birko floor and something was off about these. They didn’t come in the Birkenstock box, which is just a side note - more importantly they hurt my feet, and they didn’t feel symmetrical. I’ve worn this style with the black oiled leather, and have a brown pair with the ankle straps so this seemed like a pretty easy purchase - but sadly will have to return these. It’s possible I just received a bad pair.

The toe strap is broken and looks like they’re used/worn…so disappointed

Won’t be buying Birkenstocks from Zappos again. Not sure if they buy directly from the company? My the straps on one of my sandals completely fell off after very light usage. They won’t accept a return. Buy from Nordstrom instead.

I love the look and feel of these shoes. This is the 2nd pair for me. The first pair lasted a few years. This pair broke at the toe strap after only wearing a few months. disappointed!

Hi, I'm Jenn and I'm a Birkenholic. Seriously, other than athletic shoes when needed, they're all I wear. I have been wearing Birks for 43 years. I've always been the same size. So, obviously, it's not like I'm new to the brand. These are waaay narrower than the other 5 pairs of Mayoris I've had. What gives, Birkenstock? Sad to have to return these, my old ones are shelled. Dangit!

This shoe is very uncomfortable and bothered my arches. Had to return.

This review is for a Berki-Flor version. The Birki-Flor product was inferior to the leather all around. I am returning it. It is a completely different product and there is really no comparison. The style was cruder, the arch support was not there, and it was clumsier to walk in than the leather. At one time, they offered a non-leather product that was similar in quality to the leather, but it is no longer available. I hope that they continue to offer the superior leather shoe because it is/was a great product!

Love the Mayari. Sadly for $125 Zappos sent me a pair that had toe marks in them (someone wore them,) no tags, no original box. No thank you.

I no longer love Birkenstock. I have worn these shoes a little over a week and already they are coming apart. Seriously Birkenstock WTF??? My FIRST pair of Birks lasted 20 YEARS these didn't even last 20 DAYS. They are obviously no longer made with integrity. I bought my last pair and they lasted 1 YEAR before falling apart. There is no reason a pair of shoe that cost $100 dollars should begin to come apart in 1 week. The footbed is still great but the craftsmanship is completely gone. Birkenstock you sold your soul to the devil.

They look and feel great, unfortunately the cork sole split after less than one summer's worth of use. Birkenstock doesn't have a warranty to fix or replace so they are a very expensive one season shoe for me. I recommend not to buy.

I have had these sandals for two years and they just broke. I am really disappointed because the other pair of Birkenstocks I have have lasted me since 2003. It's also frustrating since these are fairly expensive sandals and I was expecting them to last much longer.

Birkenstocks hurt! Whose feet are these molded for? The foot of the bed just behind the bal of the foot has a hump that makes you feel like you're walking on big landscaping stones. I wanted to like these, but now I can't return it.
