Love the overall comfort of the my Birkenstock Mayari sandals, however, am extremely disappointed that after only 8 months of wear, the TOE STRAP broke loose on one shoe and is close to full breakage on the other shoe (even though the rest of the shoe is in good condition). Birkenstock personnel said they do not warranty the shoes but recommended www.ibirk.com for repairs. Have resorted to a local shoe repair shop to make the repairs on both shoes (>$50). Repairing just ONE SHOE through the ibirk website was quoted as $27 plus $11 shipping. Happy with the comfort but very, very disappointed with the quality.

I've had two pairs of the silver birko-flor, and both pairs have had one side of the loops over the big toe (where it connects to the footbed between the toes) break, which makes them unwearable. They are adorable, so I tried a second time, but won't buy a third pair. It seems that the Birko-flor fabric isn't strong enough to withstand the stress on such a small connection point. The rest of the sandals were still in excellent condition and have only been lightly worn. I have a third pair in black oiled leather and have not had the same issue, thankfully. The leather does stretch more than the Birko-flor, but holds up as they should. I highly recommend selecting leather, and not fabric if you want them to last through a season!

These are my absolute favorite pair of sandals. I wore them almost every day for two months travelling all over Europe! The sole really conforms to the shape of your foot, and they feel very supportive. I love this style, as it's a more feminine take on the original Arizona style. I chose this style over the Gizeh because I didn't like the idea of having the "thong" part of the sandal be made of plastic, and those seem more like flip-flops. The Golden-Brown Birko-Flor color has a pretty golden sheen to the natural brown, but the metallic glittery is not flashy or anything. I got a size 36 Narrow, which is half a size smaller than my regular shoe size (US Women's 6). I also chose the narrow size because the style of Birks are a bit wider and I do have slim feet, though I don't normally buy other shoes in a narrow width. Overall, I highly recommend this great, comfortable sandal for summer that's perfect for walking and travelling!

Love them! Got two pairs in 38 for my size 8 narrow feet. The stone color is regular and the mocha was narrow. The narrow seemed too small all around so I kept the regular. Love the stone color!

These are the best sandals made. I will never wear any other sandal every day. I've worn this style in August in Disney World, St. Augustine, Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce, Las Vegas, and I can walk forever. Every color is attractive. Nothing ever rubs, there is no break in required. I wear a 8.5 to 9 and order a 39. I have a slightly wider forefoot, and like my toes to spread - the regular has plenty of room for this. I can't stand a thong between my 1st and 2nd toe, but with these, you can't even feel it. I hope they never get rid of this style.

I wear Birkenstocks for comfort and for the desire to preserve my foot health so that I can continue to wear fashionable heels longer. The oiled leather Mayari is one of my favorite Birkenstocks in terms of comfort. I am use to toe separators, but my MIL, who cannot wear the Gizeh, reports the Mayari to be comfortable as well. Fits true to size. I am on the wide side of size 37B or US 6.5 in French and Italian designer shoes, and I take a 37 regular width in all Birkenstocks that I own including the Mayari, Arizona, Gizeh, Sparta, London and Paris. Re sizing, there is a quarter inch of space in the back and a little more than that in the front. I could have fit into the 36, but I believe that the extra room is consistent with the recommended fit of the shoe. Re width, it's my understanding that if your foot is basically straight up and down, the recommendation is go with narrow. Since my foot fans out, I go with regular and I do have to tighten the straps all the way. For some people, the Mayari may read as more traditionally pretty or feminine because it is strappy. Since the Vogue magazine endorsement of the Gizeh and the Arizona, the Mayari is a perfect start to a Birkenstock wardrobe, if you are hesitant because of the preceded clunkiness. Once you have tried one Birkenstock model, the comfort will have you coming back for more, and the clunky charm of the shoe will grow on you. I am to the point of Birkenstock love where I think even the Arizona actually flatters my foot and makes it look cuter and more petite. My only quibble is I wish Birkenstock made more models available in high arch. I am rating it as having excellent arch support because, relative to other shoes, I am very very happy.

Worishofer, Finn comfort, for comfort. For fashion, stuart Weitzman makes a very comfy pump called the platswoon. My most comfy high heeled sandal is the YSL tribute low heel that still raises you pretty high due to its platform.

I've worn Birkenstocks for years and these are currently my favorite style. I have them in two colors: the oiled brown leather and the silver. When I first got them, they rubbed across my big toe but I switched the straps and put the longer one on the top and then they were fine. I love them! (I have wide feet and a fairly high arch.)

Sooooo, I’ve been wearing Birkenstock’s for 5 or 6 yrs but I’ve always worn one style, a style that I found was more feminine than the arizona, the gizeh. Last December, I got adventurous and bought the mayari in Habana leather. Now within 3 mths, I got 3 colors in the mayari. I’ve written other reviews bout the other 2 but this review is to add the pics. All are leather, habana, black oiled leather and blue oiled leather. I have wide feet and I wear a size 9, no matter the brand, I’m a flush 9. Zappos and Birkenstock are 2 that never lets me down and keeps me happy. While I do have a lil space by my heel, if I were to go down, my feet wont rest comfortably and my toes curl at the top.

These are super cute and so comfortable once you break them in. I LOVE them. But if you’re considering these over a standard, across the foot strap, I would get the standard. I’ve had mine for 2 years and my toe strap broke today ?? such a bummer bc I love these!

These are my second pair of Birks! First pair were in the Arizona Style. These look much less “hippie”-like and are easier to wear with everything. I got them in the “antique lace” color which is more like a pearl white. In fact, I believe the birkenstock box itself says “pearl white”. They’re easy to clean with the birko-flor upper material. Still breaking them in. I think the sizing is wrong. I got 39 in my first pair because I’m normally a size 8/8.5 but they were a little too large. I was too excited so I kept them as is. So for this pair, I made sure to size down and got 38 and they fit perfectly! Still very excited and can’t wait to get more pairs.

Returned a pair of Habana oiled Mayari yesterday due to both toe rings a different color leather than the rest of the straps. Received replacement pair today and one toe ring was different color leather. Very disappointed in this experience. Must return these now too! And Zappos now says I cannot get refund only a Zappos credit for my trouble with their products! Used to love Zappos. Please don't go way of the big dogs who don't care about their customers. Please take care of me on this....

This is actually the best Birkenstock product I've owned. I wear it constantly around my house. When I wake up in the morning, if I walk around barefoot I often get a disturbing sort of snapping sensation in the bottom of my arches, but I slip these on and voila, they're gone. Style-wise, they aren't quite as pretty and dainty as I was hoping for. Actually, the dainty strap makes the (kind of ugly) cork more prominent I think, so if you're hoping for a 'dressier' Birk, I don't think this will do it. But still cute enough for a casual outfit. I got the Onyx, and it's a beautiful blue-gray. Not drab and not too shiny (as I feel patent is) either. It's very pretty, but still neutral. Sizing: I wear a 40 in Boston Soft Clog and 39 in the Madrid sandal - this one fits in the 39 as well. Bottom line: Feels like heaven on the feet, even for Birkenstocks. Simply amazing.

The quality of these sandals is wonderful. I have long skinny feet and the 41 Narrow is perfect. The sandals seemed a little stiff at first, but have become better with wear. I think the Mayari sandals are very feminine. Love them!!

These run SUPER big. I wear a 6 in almost all sandals and a 6.5 in boots. I used the sizing chart and measured my foot to purchase. So glad I did! I ended up getting a 5/5.5 (36) in the graceful pearl white. They fit perfect. I have plantar fasciitis and I can tell these have great arch support.

I love these! I've been a birkenstock wearer for about 20 years. Prior to these, I'd had 3 pairs of Gizehs in a row. I was apprehensive about making the change from my beloveds, but these are really great! The toe strap took about a day to get used to - it never hurt, just was a bit annoying - but the annoyance went away really quickly. Break-in time seemed slightly shorter than my previous birks (maybe they've changed something?) I feel like the arch support is slightly better on these than it was on my gizehs, not sure why that would be, but I'll take it - i have terrible plantar fasciitis in my left foot and the gizehs weren't quite enough for me anymore but these have really been amazing.

The more I wear these sandals, the more I like them. There is definitely a break-in period. The edge of the footbed was initially rubbing the bunion raw on my right foot. I just kept wearing the sandals with a bandaid, and after a few days it was no longer a problem without the bandaid. Now, I feel like I could walk for miles in these shoes! I typically wear a size 8-8.5, and I sized down to size 38 regular after reading reviews. I initially thought they might be too small because my longest toe would occasionally lightly touch the edge of the footbed, but after breaking them in I don't notice this anymore. I tried a pair of 39 regulars initially, but the straps, on the tightest adjustment, were too loose. A 39 may have worked if I had bought them in narrow as I didn't really think the length was off by much, if any.

Had purchased another style that I really liked the looks of, but they didn’t fit and look right on my feet, so I returned them ( easiest return ever!) and got the Mayari. I absolutely love them, the color, style, fit. I’ve seen a few others that I really like as well. I’ll be purchasing more from Zappo’s.

My podiatrist recommended Birkenstocks to relieve the pain I had from plantar fascia, and they work! He suggested wearing them approximately 70% of the time. (I wear mine almost all of my waking hours.) I now have no heel or arch pain. The uppers are personal choice of course, but it's the sole bed with the great arch that does the work. Be sure to get a proper fit, then start by wearing them an hour or two a day for the first week or two. After that you won't want to wear any other shoe. The only difficulty for the sandals is cold weather.

The fit on these may be tricky, but the end result is totally worth it. After some research, I decided to go with a 39 narrow for my US size 9 feet. For me, the fit is spot on...a 40 probably would be doable too, but I'm happy with the 39. The style is very nice. I was worried about Birks because I didn't want to have that bulky boat shoes look on my narrow feet, but this style is simple and feminine. I was concerned to hear people talk about the big toe straps causing blisters but I've had NO issues at all there. All the straps are perfectly comfy. This is my first, but definitely not my last pair of Birkenstocks. I'm a convert.

I wear an 8-8.5 in most shoes, with a kinda wide foot (not wide enough to order W shoes tho). I have worn birks for 30+ years, and I have always worn a size 38 (7). Thats what I ordered and they fit perfect. I have always worn Boston and Arizona. This time I tried Mayari, and I LOVE THEM!! Just upset I didnt splurge sooner. I ordered he oiled leather habana. It is a dark rich raw leather. Highly recommend.

I love birkenstock’s! These are my 13th pair and the only downside of these sandals is that since they have a toe loop, if you want to wear them in the winter with socks, you gotta wear those birks that have toe holes. I like birko-flor because it’s the only type I can ever find on sale and there’s no “breaking in” period as the part that is against your skin is like a felt like material. I’m usually a size 8 in Nike tennis shoes and about an 8.5 or 9 US in ASICS and the 38 fits me perfectly. I have a couple of pairs that are 39, the straps are a little big but the footbed doesn’t seem too huge on me. Arizona’s are the only ones I can go up a size in without it looking ridiculously huge on me. If I go up in size on the Mayari and Gizeh, my entire heel wouldn’t be in the heel cup as i try to get my toes comfortably under the toe loop or toe thong.
