I have been searching for these sandals for years and finally found them. Used to wear them as a kid in the 70's. My mother had the high ones and I had the low ones. We called them Buffalo Sandals. Anyway I originally ordered the 9 which is my normal size but they were too tight in the width. Wish they had a wide width so I returned and ordered the 10 and they fit perfectly, they don't look too big at all. 9.5 wide would have been perfect but I'm thrilled with the 10 regular. So comfortable.

Loved these shoes in the 70s and love them now! Can't wait until warm weather to wear them. I hate that they don't have half sizes, I am pretty much a 7.5 and I ordered a 7 and as soon as I took them out of the box I knew that they looked tiny. They were tight and short (my foot is on the narrow side too). Ordered the 8 and they fit, but are quite a bit bigger than the 7. 7.5 would have been perfect. I am returning the 7 and keeping the 8! Love them and Zappos, lightning fast delivery, next day upgrades all of the time!

Women of a certain age will recall these beauties from our wilder years. I was thrilled to see them return, and snatched up the style that most closely matched my earlier pair. Truth be told, in my former life, I took these platforms to the cobbler and had him add another six inches to the base, wrapped in suede to math the original. I did not try that this time! Once they arrived, I was transported back in time, which turned out to be both good and bad. The good was a memory of the slightly clog-ish gait that the shoe produces. I loved it! The bad was that the upper leather is really stiff. Here is where maturity pays off. I took a hair dryer to the uppers to warm the leather where I spent about five minutes in each position and then manipulated the leather for another three minutes in my hands. They were instantly broken in.

I'm slightly bigger than a 7 but not a full 7.5, so I ordered a 7. They seemed a little tight and a little short. However, I think in the right size they would be very comfortable and they are certainly cute. What concerns me is that either Kork-Ease is making two versions of the same shoe, or they are changing over their production, and not for the better. The "buff leather" versions of their shoes seem to be made in Brazil, with leather insoles. The "vacchetta leather" versions are made in China with man-made insoles, but no price difference.

Devastated that my second pair has had the same problem-the leather from the strap across the door comes unattached from the side with no fix! Two different summers, 2 different pairs, same problem. What gives? These are my favorite shows ever!!!

I've been buying one or 2 pairs of Kork-ease annually since they reissued them about 4 years ago for a total of about 6 pairs. I need a new one every year because I wear them all the time! They've always been great and comfortable. The made in China ones this year are horrible. The leather straps seem made of iron and no give to them at all - like having your feet in a vise grip. The 'padded insole' doesn't cover the whole footpad, so parts of the foot end up hanging off the padded part (which is kind of hard to begin with) and it's painful. Worst shoes ever. Please start making them in Brazil again, or change the leather and footpad design or something.

An absolute CLASSIC!!! I’m a 70s child, and I wore these when I was a kid and felt like a rockstar ????…then I was ELATED when I found them many years later in my 40s!! ??? Not only are they nostalgically magical, but they are very comfortable and go with absolutely everything! I’ve literally had people stop me on the streets to complement them and many who shared the same nostalgic memory from the 70s. PLEASE please replenish the stock, because I’m ready to order size 7 ASAP!! ??????

Even tho this shoe was a tad big for my feet, I could not help but keep it. I love the 70s vibe, the platform and the COMFORT. The straps were tight enough to make up for any minor size discrepancy and I am still totally in love. The make me look and feel 10 feet tall. One of the THE BEST.

These are the sandals my mother wouldn't let me buy when I was fifteen, for whatever reason that I could never (and still don't) understand. I bought them for myself last summer, kind of like revenge on my mom and re-living my teenage years again. Love the 1970's fashion and even though I lived through it, I'm all about revisiting it. These are beautifully made, comfortable, and look really good with everything from jeans to skirts to sundresses. In my opinion the natural vachetta is the only way to go, with the suede covered platform. An American classic, and incredibly iconic. Along with rock 'n' roll and blue jeans, these should have a spot in the Smithsonian. That's how great they are.

Great shoes. Think I had a pair of these in beige when I was in high school. They are instantly comfortable and true to size.

Love these! Cute, comfortable, can wear with anything. They make my legs look as if they go on forever. My only complaint is that the upper straps around my ankle could be tighter...like the strap needs one more hole.

Ordered this shoe in the lighter and darker brown. Fit is good and is more comfortable than I thought it would be. Easy to walk in as well. Very attractive shoe! Love it!

Just like the ones I used to wear many years ago! Yes, in the '70s. Love this shoe. So comfortable, right out of the box. I had no idea that they still made this shoe. Can't wait to buy more. I can walk in them without feeling that I am going to trip or fall. Not used to a heel...just one to describe this shoe, Awesome!

I used to have a pair like this one and another one in black. I bough the natural color this time and I love them. I thought that since the last time I wore one was in 1975 I would not be able to use them, but they were just as comfortable.

Comfortable, nice fit. I had ankle surgery a few years back and I can't wear most shoes that are cute and stylish. These offer the support and style I was looking for. I wish the upper leather were softer but I'm sure over time the leather will soften.

I've been wanting a pair of Kork-Ease since the 70's...they are forever cute! Zappos' delivery was amazing. The only disappointing thing is...on the 2nd time wearing them, I noticed a dirty spot on the bottom of the right heel that I wasn't able to remove (from driving with them on). It's not a manufacturing/distributing issue...can't return them, but something to note if you do a lot of driving.

I freaking love these shoes. I don't want to take them off, that's how much I love them. Lots of compliments. And the comfort! I'm a teacher, and these shoes are a dream.

Yes, I wore the original "buffalo sandal" in natural in the '70s - and knock-offs before I splurged on these. They are very comfortable, fit as a perfect size 7, and I am now trying to figure out when I can afford another color.

I read all of the reviews and thought that I could get away with an 8 (I wear 8½ most of the time). I had to return for the 9 because they were too narrow. The shipping is so quick with Zappos! I have worn them twice and love them! They are comfortable and so cute! They remind me of high school! I want to order a few more in different colors!

Love this style -- just as great as it was in the '70s! I ordered sizes 7 and 8, as I usually take a 7 and sometimes 7.5. After trying them on, I definitely need the 8, maybe because I have a high instep and also because at first this leather is very stiff. My daughter has this same shoe style in the darker leather with a cork sole and it is softer leather and a lighter weight shoe but both are fun and so cute with skirts and jeans. These will just take some time to break in but they will last forever and look better and better with wear.

I love these shoes for both the style and the comfort. Not to mention the fact that they are an exact replica of the ones I used to own circa 1976!

This shoe is so comfortable! Received this shoe in black and ordered the natural color also because they were so comfortable. I have problems with my feet but I was able to wear the Ava shoe for more than 6 hours walking on vacation. Thank you Kork-Ease! Zappos is the best!

Love these shoes, comfy and go well with pants or dresses. I'm an 8 1/2 medium and the size 8 fits perfectly. The leather is a bit hard at first, so I'm breaking them in before summer. (I have a hammer toe on my right foot.) You may not need to break them in.
