I got these shoes because my podiatrist insisted I get shoes with a sole that bends around the toes\/ball of foot only (instead of my previous shoes which I could fold in half at the arch) so my orthopedics would work better. That\'s these shoes for sure. Comfortable, but unbending--not the shoes for you if you want to feel the ground.

Very supportive shoe. Shoes have become so specialized it's hard to find "normal". That being said, I haven't worn this shoe long enough to test that theory, but so far I'm pleased with my foot placement. I have fallen arches and wear a light orthotic. I like the support this shoe gives. The first few times I wore it my feet got hot, but the more I wear them, the better it gets - not sure why! The knobby strings stay tied and I like the cushioned sole especially on pavement. I power walk, yet I prefer a running shoe. This shoe has a stable heel and sole and lots of cushion for pounding roads and trails. And it's made in USA!

So comfortable. After looking for a walking\/running shoe for almost a year I finally purchased this one to complete satisfaction. The toe box is very comfy but not a wide fit. The nylon\/mesh allows for plenty of air flow so my feet and socks are dry when I remove my shoes. There is plenty of cushioning in the sole. I\'m 100% satisfied with this shoe and would absolutely buy it again.

I love this style - I walk everyday and these cushion and protect the feet very nicely - they have a good arch support system as well.

Okay, not enough support for the lunges and other exercises I perform. Very nice looking shoe.

The sneaker's width and breath is great, but the sole of the shoe is thin and lacks enough cushion for comfort.

After just trying to break them in, my feet are killing me. I have flat feet, so I'll have to put my orthotics in them to make a better support. I'm guessing that if you are under a certain weight, they feel just great. But if you are overweight, which I'm working on, this would not be the sneaker for you.

This shoe is undoubtedly sharp to look at, but it didn't have enough cushion in the forefoot for me. Granted, I'm looking for a good stability shoe with plenty of cushion because I do body step, turbo kick (tae bo with dance moves,) zumba, body attack (plyo classes) and body pump to lift weights. I have a weak ankle from a compound tib fib fracture right above my ankle and needed a shoe that gives me a firm foundation and lots of cushion under the forefoot to absorb impact. Wish these were it. I also think they felt a half size larger - ordered 9.5, but definitely would have taken a 9. On a separate note - ZAPPOS ROCKS! Ordered 4 pair of shoes at 10:30, got them the next day by 3. Love shopping Zappos!

I wanted to really like this shoe. I also did a lot of researching which shoe to purchase for my height, weight, and how I use it. I find it mediocre. I've worn it for about a month now. I walk-run 30-40 minutes 5 times a week. The shoe started out very comfortable, with no break in period, no blisters. After about 3 weeks or so it began to bother the bone on the very back of the heel. Cushioning has dwindled significantly. I over pronate so it doesn't have a ton of cushion but more support. I'm disappointed with how quickly it has seemed to have worn down. For what we pay, I would expect a better product from New Balance and would hope it would last me a minimum of 6 months. Style of the shoe I did like. I prefer low key, non flashy styles and this shoe did fit that bill quite well. Durability, I'm not so sure of.

Nice to look at but felt larger than normal. Laces are long and tight, but I mainly take step and weight training classes and the impact on the front of foot is terrible. They hurt like heck. They look thick in the front of the shoe but feel paper thin and my feet ache every time I've worn them. They also feel a bout a half size larger than normal. I've never had a New Balance I didn't like until now. I will stick with non aerobic moments while wearing these.

I'm usually a NB fan, but these shoes didn't work for me at all. The back heel of the shoe rubbed both of my heels so badly that they bled after a leisurely 2 mile walk. I'm still healing. :) I like NB and will continue to buy them as they are the only shoe manufacturer who still makes a portion of their shoes in the U.S.; however this style didn't work for me. As always, great shopping experience with Zappos!
