For me, these boots did not run big. I originally purchased the Hunter short boot in a half size smaller than I normally wear. I am a 7 1/2 and the 7 was too tight to get on and off and not much toe room. I ordered the 8 and it was a much better fit for me with room for thicker socks or a sheepskin liner for added comfort. I also found when I walked, the back of the boot pressed against my calf. I'm sorry to say the second pair is going back not due to the fit so much as to the condition of the boots when they arrived. I don't know how many people tried on the boots before they arrived at my doorstep, but they looked awful right out of the box….not the new look you expect when paying this price.

I have had these boots for about a year, and ultimately wish that I had not bought them (nor would I buy them again). I will admit that for the first four or so months I had these, I was much harder on them than your average "wear them when it is rainy" person, given that I was working at a job that required black rubber boots, and so these were getting worn over 30 hours a week (since then, they have been worn irregularly - probably only a dozen or so times). Anyway, given that the price of these is probably four times that of most rain boots, I expected them to hold up fine. They both have and have not. They are still waterproof a year out, and while some cheaper rubber boots will crack with frequent wearing, these have not. That said: the right boot has developed an irritating "squish" whenever I walk, and I am dubious about its longterm waterproofing capabilities. Inexplicably, the Hunter decal on the left has peeled half off. They cannot be worn on bare legs (must have pants/leggings tucked in) because they have literally rubbed my skin bloody. The worst irritant, though, is the blooming. Hunter will try and tell you that this blooming - or, white waxy film that appears and makes the boots look terrible - is normal, comes from extreme temperature shifts, and will wipe away with a damp cloth. This, in my inexperience, is extremely untrue. First of all, my boots were stored in a temperate house, not outside or anywhere with temperature swings. However, even if they had been: only one of the boots got the blooming, despite the fact that they were literally stored side by side. It was so bad that it turned the black boot nearly grey. And damp cloth, you say? Nope. The only way I got the blooming to go away was by purchasing Hunter brand spray/polish. Needless to say, after spending so much money on rain boots, I was not at all happy to be spending even more cash just to make these boots wearable again (since frankly, I was not going to go out with one grey boot and one black). Are these boots totally awful? No. The arch support, though not fantastic, is decent for rain boots. When it is not covered in a waxy film, the glossy black is really sharp looking. And for half the price, maybe I would not regret buying them - but at what they sell for, I wish I had not been caught up in the Hunter name and had gotten some off brand boots for way less cash.

I have not worn these boots yet as I live in the Midwest and snow boots are in order right now. I originally ordered the Hunter brown mat finish short boot. Every time I put them on to wear, they were covered in a white film. In some of the reviews, it mentioned the white coating and said it could be wiped off. I didn't know it meant every time you want to wear them, you have to wipe them off with a damp cloth. I called Zappos to complain. While the rep. I spoke with said they do not take back worn shoes, they would allow it this time. I ordered the black glossy instead. Hopefully, they will not require the care of the mat finish.

They're pretty, I like them better than the non glossy. The gloss does come back if you spray them with McNett UV Tech Protectant and Rejuvenator. Capris tend to slide out of these boots and as I have large calves, the top of the boot does rub against my calves and hurt a little. This doesn't happen with regular length pants. Other than that, they're comfortable to walk in. I got these in my normal shoe size because I wanted to tuck my pants in them. A size smaller worked for my wide feet but not for my wide calves as I couldn't tuck in my jeans. I already own a pair of Bogs that I can wear in midwest winters, they're that warm, so these Hunter boots I got for warmer weather. I don't really wear them enough to justify the high cost, but I also hate it when my pants get splashed.

Not as glossy as I thought they would be, but very comfortable and fun! I ordered a size down based on the other reviews and that was perfect!

Return - These boots look cute but that's about it. They're heavy and have a plastic smell. Do not expect to wear a cute skirt or shorts with these, pants should be tucked inside the boots to protect the skin, as I found out the hard way as the rim of the boots cut into my legs and left scars that are still visible months after.

I loved my boots and saved up to buy them. But three years after purchasing, they not are not water tight. They do not get heavy use, and only are used in damp/rainy conditions. They are not worn for more than 40 minutes at a time, and even then it is gentle use walking slowly in a field. Now the right boot, after walking through dewey grass, is leaching water into the shoe. Not the quality I expect for such an expensive and reputable brand (their reputation for durability is why I bought them). I have examined the boot, and can't find any holes of breaks and have no idea how the moisture is getting in. But ten minutes in dewey grass and my sock is soaked. Not happy.

I was excited to finally get my hands on these. The boots fit great.. I am returning because Zappos obviously sent me a pair that had been previously used/returned to them. The boots didn’t come in their original box, looked dirty and had scuff marks all over them. I am pretty disappointed Zappos.. do better.

I am very sad to send these boots back, as I have waited close to a year to find an excuse to have yet another pair of Hunters! Unfortunately, these new Hunters have already been "blooming" in their box - they are covered with the white, dusty film the Hunter company claims is totally normal. I have a newish pair of Hunters which quickly developed this bloom, I followed the recommended cleaning procedure with Hunter products, and as soon as the "shine" dries, the white powder is back. I want fresh shiny boots from the very beginning. Zappos and others should not send out blooming boots!

beautiful boots! Lovely color and shine! Daughter loves them, but they ran a little smaller so she had to exchange for one size bigger.

Love these! They are great during the southern rainy days. However, when it's very humid they can get warm.

I have a very old pair of Hunter boots, same style, dark green matte - that probably have lasted 10+ years but a couple weeks ago, finally had some tears which led me to these new boots. I liked the glossy look and the color (plus they were on sale) but I was surprised at how thick and unpliable the material was - again it's been years so I'm guessing Hunter has changed the way they make their boots - but while it felt ok to walk around in, while I tested them in the apartment, I had a hard time getting my foot out and was worried about comfort in general. A few days later we got pounded with snow and slush and these were the only shoes that could possibly keep my dry when I had to head downtown via the bus. They were great! Very comfortable to walk quite a bit to the bus and around the streets downtown, kept my feet dry and cleaned up easily once I got home. Still a little harder than the original boots when trying to get my right foot out, but even that seemed less of an issue. I usually wear an 8.5 in other shoes, I went with an 8 here - work regular socks and they felt good.

Pretty comfortable so far for beach and urban walking. Better support than cheaper wellies I've had before! Hoping they won't be too hot to wear in summer downpours, but I won't know that for some time. I just bought my normal size; sizing/rounding down, as some here recommended, turned out to be uncomfortably snug with slightly thick winter socks.

These are more expensive than other moulded rubber wellies but worth it. There is a smooth, no bump inside finish that others don’t have. Very comfy as well as shiny, stylish. Only negative: They go on easily, can even step into them, but are more difficult to get off. Must sit down to get off. Ordered one size down because of recommendations, and they were correct. One size below fits fine. IF you are a person who is always cold and wears thick socks, stick with your size; but I am constantly hot; this works better for me.

I was worried these wouldn’t be wide enough for my calves but they are. Love the blush pink color in got, I’ve been waiting a long time for them to go on sale and they finally did. Love them! I normally wear a 8 1/2 to 9 and the 8 fit perfectly.
