This is my third pair of Ratas and I'm hooked. Their look is unique without straying too far from the Vans style profile and they work well with shorts, khakis, or jeans. These are by far the most comfy Vans without socks. Be advised: they stretch about a half size (especially the hemp version) so order down. I'm normally a 10.5 and have always gotten these in 10.

Very cool shoes, I wear them almost every day. They take some breaking in though. I got blisters on the top insides of my feet from the way the fabric around the tongue of the shoe folds down. They are also low rise, so inorder to look cool and still wear socks, you need the special really low Vans socks, which are not cheap.

These were an okay purchase. I wanted some pool side lounge shoes and these seemed to fit the bill. They're comfortable enough to wear without socks, but there isn't a ton of cushioning, so long walks weren't too great.

Great summer shoes…super minimal, lightweight, and comfortable. These shoes are great for warm weather. With socks, size-down half a size. Without, go a full size smaller.

I'm wearing these shoes right now. I like them, but the size is small on the Vans scale and they are very Skinny. I'm not sure if having them snug is making my feet sweat or if its the materials are just not breathable. They look cool, but even my converse are wider than these. If you can get a wide version then take that offer. Note the heel does not have support, and they are very low cut. I would not wear them with pants.

This was a good shoe right out-of-the-box, comfortable, stylish (at least my interpretation of stylish)...that was the first day. On day two things began to change, still stylish, but becoming more comfortable...wider...airier...looser. The following day (day 3) I noticed the shoe becoming more colorful and wider still...by the time I was able to get home from work the entire right side of the shoe had blown out leaving my red striped socks exposed to the elements, albeit a good splash of color, this was entirely not my intention. On day 4 the shoes were toast and unwearable. Seems the suede used to create these shoes came from a poor, malnourished animal whose pelt was so thin it could not hold up to the rigors of urban life. ...or this was some type of karmic FU, in which case I get it. Anyway, the shoes were good...good enough that I bought the black pair made from hemp and have not had a problem. I'll be sending the others back and hopefully getting a new pair.

These are nice looking but the eyelets pulled away from the fabric within weeks. Otherwise it is your standard Vans feel.

Overall the shoes look good, but they are not very comfortable. The sole is a waffle pattern which makes my feet very sore but only in certain places. Also, the quality of the shoe is lacking. I have worn them daily for about a month and they are already beginning to degrade. The bottom is rapidly wearing away and somehow I have managed to get one of the eyelets out of round.

Pattern looks less like a palm tree and looks more like a marijuana plant especially since the 'grey' color is really more of an olive green - true to photo color. Also, very low sides with little support - even my cool surf-athletic-son felt uncomfortable wearing it to high school - didn't want to send the wrong message.

I've bought these shoes twice. One in navy, the other in a charcoal. They are stylish and simple, I've received many compliments on them. They are also pretty comfortable. However I will not be buying another pair because both fell apart in the exact same way (the heel). Maybe it's the way I wear them (flat feet, daily use)? Now that it's happened with my second pair I'm looking elsewhere for something similar but more durable. I get that shoes don't last forever, but I feel these could be a bit more durable.

These are a full size smaller than marked. I could not get one on my foot. Usually, a size 10 is a bit big for me -- not with these. These would have to go all the way to 11 (to quote Spinal Tap).

Sides too high and rough. Not quite chukka boot high but too high anyway. Not low sides like boat shoes. Cut into my foot just below the heel bone. Had to add another liner to elevate above that edge but that is just too much stuffing. Forget it. They are very blue and well made. Good bed liner. Recyclable. Sending them back.

These shoes were horrible. The grommets for the laces came apart almost immediately. Then after three months one of the heels of the shoe started to become shredded.

The canvas is paper thin and cuts into my foot. They are really skinny too. Not a very manly shoe in my opinion. Going back. The photo looks really cool, but the reality doesn't live up to the photo.

Great looking shoe, but poorly made. I'm surprised - I wear a lot of Vans and Chucks, so I'm used to canvas flats, but this shoe is lacking...and tight, too.

These shoes are great. Until they totally disintegrate after a month. I bought a pair and returned them after the stitching eroded around the heel causing the sole to detach from the shoe. I got another pair because certainly that was just a defective pair. One month later the second pair were shot as well.

You will need to buy insoles and you cannot wear a thick sock. Not a good walking shoe. Mostly style over function.

I ordered these for my husband for Christmas, but unfortunately he was not a fan of the camo. Also, they did not fit well. I ordered his normal size, but they were on the big side (he has narrow feet). The good news is: I ordered some Merrell clogs for my dad for Christmas, and my husband loved them! So I am ordering him a pair of those to take the place of these. Thanks for making returns so easy.
