I love quality boots, and after the first winter of wear, I was not disappointed with these. A very good buy for the money: looks, comfort and quality. They quickly and comfortably molded to my feet. You Zappatistas are awesome.

These are a fantastic boot. Had my first pair for over three years of very rugged use until a campfire log rolled out of the pit and burned them overnight. I bought two pairs now just to have a back up. I wear a EE width and they break out where they need to. A perfect boot design.

These are great boots. There's a padded insole included which makes them pretty comfortable. The only con is that when laced up, they can be impossible to remove and the laces must be significantly loosened. I get around this by skipping the top three holes and keeping the laces loosely tied while wearing. That way I can slip them on and off, and I like the way they look more loosely laced. I get compliments on these boots all the time (women really seem to like them).

Very comfortable, great looking boot. I had these broken in within a few days. I just ordered my 2nd pair, different color. You won't be disappointed.

These are great boots for the money. I have been wearing these almost exclusively for about a month, and they are wearing well, they take polish nicely, and they are comfortable enough to be on my feet all day without regret. Invest in some wool boot socks if you have not already, and get yourself some insoles if you are looking for something way more comfortable. These are not meant for crazy hiking, I use my Marine issued boots for that. Outside of that, I would like to have some quicklaces, but that is a minor inconvenience really.

This is my second pair of RJ Colt boots. I had a pair of the MAX style for about a year and loved them so I decided to get another pair and try a new style. I really liked the Copper/Tan color but it was out of stock in size 10 for a long time. I saw the Grey/Grey go on sale and couldn't pass up the deal. These boots are sharp. They are pretty comfortable out of the box but after a few days of breaking in, they are good to go. I got these for work. I can dress them up or down. I prefer to wear boots most of the time and my last pair of RJ colts were my go to footwear. These will surely be my new go to pair! Very pleased with my purchase.

I have always had feet problems. These boots allow me to stand for 3 times longer than any other shoe I have ever owned without the throbbing pain standing usually brings about. I love these boots.

Great boot. Feels very solid and looks stylish. Love the contrast of the green and brown. All the eyelets help get a snug fit. The size and width as marked felt true.

These are fantastic. They feel sturdy, look awesome, and they're padded just fine. Cons: a little long, and you can't really loosen the laces very low to make putting on/taking off a little easier.

Sharp looking boots and I like the fit ok. I have not worn them but a few times so they are right stiff, however I think they will break in ok. The stitching could be better at the area where the leather meets the canvas, hope the don't peel apart, but they look good for the mean time. I would not recommend as a work boot, its more of a city boot.

I was originally looking at the Timberland Tackhead boots and was looking for them on Zappos when I stumbled on the RJ Colts. I wasn't necessarily looking for a rugged boot...rather...just liked the style of the Tackhead. So...when I saw the RJ Colt...that looked almost exact to the Timberland...for a lot less, I jumped all over them! When they arrived, I was very pleased with their overall quality. They looked like they cost more than they did...and the construction was really quite good. They were initially a bit tight, but after putting some Vaseline on the leather and wearing them a few times, they fit perfectly. Plus the Vaseline helps to waterproof the leather. So far, I am very pleased with the boot. They look good, they feel good and I'm going to buy one of the other color combos too!

Got these for my 18 year old son. He really likes them, but had a small issue with the heel slipping. With the heel liners, that problem was easily solved. Sharp looking boots!

Good boot, great price! Fairly lightweight and stylish. The seam that arches over the heal is a bit rough at first, but once broken in, they are pretty comfortable. Overall, I am liking the boots.

Not a bad boot but designed for a rather specific foot type. Putting it on felt like someone built it to remove the skin on the top of my heel. It was also very narrow throughout. I have a wide foot but this was beyond most narrow boots. Also, the heel of the boot looks very cool in the picture but the tromp l'oil effect isn't very convincing in person. It has a movie prop feel. It's fine if it fits. Good deal even with the negatives. I had to send it back.

The tread on the sole of this boot disappointingly ripped off in a few places after just casual usage. By casual, I mean in the first few weeks just wearing these in the office and walking downtown. The contrast between the leather and fabric is not as significant as the the picture here. The boot looks ok, but the heel and sole really cheapen the look of this boot.

These are good boots for the money. They are well made and tough. They are a bit too fancy looking for my taste.

A very handsome boot for sure and seemed well made although I didn't have a chance to put them through any kind of wear/tear. A good price (currently on sale), value seems to be there but my biggest drawback, which was a 100% deal breaker, comfort level. Holy cow, not comfortable in the least. Very stiff and rubbed in all the wrong places - inside & outside ankle bone mainly. Perfectly annoying and blisters would of been had for sure. No way can I see wearing them for any length of time without cursing like a g#$@ d@&!* sailor. My feet are relatively narrow as it goes and the width was snug, I think with more meaty feet, there'd be major problems - like can't feel my toes cause there's no circulation! As always, Zappos has amazingly fast turn around & has customer care that all US companies should use as a guide.

Thes boots ar very comfortable as I have foot problems. They are the only shoes I wear. Th sole is soft and my feet feel great. I do a lot of yard work. Ths are not work boots and will fall apart if you are doing heavy yard work or hard on the boots. I have bought 3 of the same pair.

The upper portion of this boot is pretty good for the money. Leather is decent and the stitching is nice. The two tone effect of cloth and leather isn't nearly as pronounced as the pictures on the site though. I really wanted to like these boots since the styling is well done. Unfortunately, it's paired with a really flimsy lower/sole that is subpar in function and looks. The tread literally started ripping off in chunks during my first week just wearing them around the office. I'm now at a few months ownership and sections of tread on the bottom are still coming unglued and tripping me up. Just comparing both sections its like they built a high quality boot and glued it to the cheapest possible sole platform.

I agree with Benjamin B's assessment. I purchased these with the intention of being able to wear them at work. While we are not terribly hard on our footwear, we do spend over 8 hours a day on concrete. These boots looked great (darker in color than what the picture showed, which was a bonus), felt perfect for my feet, but within two days a small section of the tread came loose. Over time, the boots suffered the same sort of separation mentioned in the other review. I still have them, and wear them when I do not feel like putting on my heavier boots, but I was disappointed with the construction of the boots. I am sure that if they were worn for occasional evening outings, they would hold up.

I really liked these boots, they are quite good-looking and I've gotten compliments about them from both men and women. They're also very comfortable needing virtually no break-in. Alas, only after 3 months the soles of both have started to peel and break off. This is particularly unfortunate because I think these look even better a bit worn. The sole seems to be a weak spot of their construction though. I read the other reviews when I bought them and I had really hoped to be one of the people who had a good pair but no luck. Fortunately, I bought them from Zappos so while I'm disappointed with RJ Colt that they didn't last, resolving the problem amounts to only a minor inconvenience.

These boots were awesome. I said were because after a week of use, the soles started coming off. They look great but have to stop wearing them because the loose sole creates a tripping hazard. I wish that I could have these boots replaced.
