I have a very narrow foot. So, it was nice to find a narrow boot. Also, I normally wear an 8 1/2 in a standard shoe. I needed an size 9 in this boot. I usually find I need a 9 or 9 1/2 in athletic shoes. I did add my own foot pads into the boot. However, I do this will all of my athletic shoes.

Very nice hiking boots. I am male, but purchased a female shoe (no, I'm not a cross-dresser or tranny) because I can't find men's shoes my size. Anyway, they fit snugly (even with a wide) and feel good. They're a little stiff, but will probably loosed up during break-in. But I really feel protected and steady in these, when hiking in rocky, uneven terrain. Great boots.

I have a narrow, low volume foot and use prescription orthotics. I tried about 6 different kinds of boots based on reviews and this one was the right one for me. The fit is firm, but with room to wiggle toes. The split tongue allowed for easier tightening down at the ankle and therefore your foot stays in place on hills without your toes getting mashed. The heel sits beautifully. I've only hiked twice so far, but they didn't give me a lick of trouble, no hots spots. Wish I had gotten these instead for the 500 mile hike I did this past summer.

Best boots I've ever owned! Hiked 218 miles across England in Aug. 2013, without a single blister. My feet were always warm and dry and well supported as we climbed mountains and slogged through bogs. My husband's new Ecco boots came apart in the second week. My boots still look new but are well broken in and incredibly comfortable. I wear two different sizes and have to purchase two pair, but the boots fit both my high arched foot and my very flat foot in total comfort. Just amazing! I'm now looking for the same fit in a low top/street version.

These boots are great!! I tried on so many different pairs of hiking boots, and finally I found these. They are a little stiff, but it is a good kind of stiff. They are really comfortable and the treads are grippy. They are warm, too! I recently wore them running errands on a chilly day and they were great with wool socks. They provide good ankle support as well. They are also really cute, unlike a lot of outdoor play rough type boots. I really cannot say enough about these boots. I wear them all the time. I have not tried them on the trails yet, but I know they will be great.

So far, so awesome! I've had these boots for about a month (replacing my Teva hiking shoes that have been all over the world with me and are finally shot), and so far, they are standing up to Chicago's winter quite nicely. They are super comfortable, waterproof, and not too warm, so I can control the temp with my sock choices. I plan to use these as year-round hikers, so that's a plus. Also the treads are standing up to snow, icy pavement, and walks on the snowy beach just fine. The blue doesn't look crappy when wet/salty/dirty either. They're a big investment, but so far, they're paying off.

These shoes are great. I have a narrow foot and they fit my foot perfectly. I usually wear 8.5 in non-dress shoes, so I was pleased that the shoe is true to size. They feel SO supportive, I think I am going to use them as my daily walking shoe. Will hike in them in Vail, as well.

This seems to be a fine shoe. It ran really large on me. I usually wear 8.5 in non-dress shoes but this one was really large. I am ordering a size 8 and will see what happens.

I have a pair of Lowa's in brown that I love. They are perfect for a narrow heel and normal toe box foot. But I bought them in black to use for city travel and they were perfect. I managed to wear the in NYC and Venice and they protected my vulnerable hip/knee situation. I love these boots!

I was excited to find a narrow boot and the left one fit perfectly. Not so much on the right. I am ordering a M width and hope to fill the space with socks. Nice and lightweight boots. Love Zappos!

These boots are my 2nd pair of this model. I am happy to report that the new pair is just as comfortable as my several years old, finally worn out pair and the sizing does not seem to have changed. I usually wear a 10 or 10.5 shoe, but wear an 11 in this boot to give my toes plenty of length for downhill hiking. A well made boot, requires little to no break in, I strongly recommend it. Worth the price, and Zappos service makes the whole process so easy.

I have a AA narrow foot size 7. The boots fit perfectly and true to size. They are extremely comfortable and of very good quality. I am pleased to find a company which puts so many good quality, reasonably priced shoes in narrow.

I got these boots for work (as a wetland consultant) and they are incredible. Trully water proof, good for cold weather and walking in the snow. Perfect boots, I am very satisfied.

These hiking boots are the absolute best hiking boot I have had in my 58 years of living. My feet are narrow and I have plenty of hardware in my feet after several surgeries. I ordered narrow. Also I have a tendency to get blisters from shoes and boots. But these -- never a single blister anywhere. These are going with me to Europe this summer!

I got these boots a couple of days before our three day, two nights hike in Redwood Canyon in the beginning of June. With about 30 pounds on my back the first day and some heavy up and downhill, I was worried to say the least, but I am so glad that I got them. They are perfect summer hiking boots for women, very light and really comfortable. I ordered a size 8N and was surprised how well they fit. No blisters whatsoever, thanks to my trick of wearing super thin nylon socks (everyone at REI rolled their eyes when I was trying on boots there; they thought I was crazy not to go for wool socks, but I know my feet!) But if you are a wool sock kind of person, make sure to order half a size bigger, because my size 8 fit just perfectly with those thin nylon socks. Anyway, my left arch started hurting really badly halfway through the first day, but it had nothing to do with the boots because the pain went away after I adjusted my backpack shoulder straps. So the boots really did the job. And they look great in dark blue and grey! The only problem I had was hitting my toes on the downhill, but I have never had boots where that was not the case, no matter how tight my laces are around the ankle, so what can I say. As is, I would recommend these boots to anyone with narrow feet who's planning easy to medium hikes. I cannot wait to use them again this summer. Thanks, Zappos, for carrying them, and for your fantastic choices, and most of all for your awesome service. I love you guys!

EXCELLENT boot! I wore them on a 5-hour hike the first day I got them and they were extremely comfortable. No need to break these in. I'm crazy picky about comfortable shoes and have worn these in from 20 degrees in the snow to 95 degree Alabama heat. Well worth the price.

First bought a pair for my daughter then, after wearing hers, had to have a pair for myself. Lightweight, comfortable, perfect for hiking (in the city or country). LOVE them.

Just finished hiking the "W" circuit in Torres Del Paine (Patagonia) in these boots. I didn't have any time to "break them in" prior to the hike but they performed great. No blisters despite some pretty steep terrain. Only got a few hot spots on big toes. Feet never got wet. All in all these are great boots.

These hiking boots are winners. I bought the boots for an upcoming hiking trip, but I have worn them in the snow and they keep my feet warm and dry. There is an initial break in period where the boots are stiff, but after wearing a few times, they are very comfortable. The quality appears to be very high, justifying the price.

These boots are the bomb. I bought them about a month ago in anticipation of an upcoming trip to Ireland where I'll be hiking 10-15 miles/day. I've been wearing them regularly, both for long training walks and just to commute to work here in the Chicago winter. They are completely comfortable, warm, and water resistant. Haven't had the chance to try them in heavy rain, but they've held up well in snow. They are mid- to light-weight for a hiking boot. I bought true to size (following advice from other reviews), and they fit very well. I have wide feet, so I got the wide width, and they're perfect, even with thick/double layers of socks. I also have fairly flat feet, and prefer not to have lots of shape within the shoe - these fit the bill wonderfully for that. They're mostly flat inside. Overall, I highly recommend this for a rugged, cost-effective, yet lightweight hiking boot.

Spent a month researching boots for recent Kilimanjaro trek. Originally got some Vasques but they pinched my feet. I needed wide, fully waterproof shoes. These were it, comfy from the get go. Walked in streams that covered my entire foot, foot stayed dry. It rained all 7 days on the mountain. Towards the end, a tiny corner at the top right of my shoe seemed to have water seep into the leather (vs. repelling the water), but my foot remained totally dry. I didn't have any time to break these in on any hikes -- I just did stair workouts prior to my trip and it was fine. I had a tiny bit of rubbing on my ankle on day 5 of Kilimanjaro, which a piece of moleskin fixed.

I spent the better part of 3 months trying to find the right boots. And these were it! I am recovering from a broken heel and need good ankle support but not something so stiff I couldn't work on increasing my flexibility. My feet stay dry and warm, which is a plus here in Oregon, but they do not get overheated. The laces too are great as they don't slip and come undone as you walk. They even came with an extra set. The only recommendation I can give, is, get arch inserts. These shoes have very little arch support. Which is a good thing since all our feet are so different. You can really customize the fit this way.

My only complaint is that the stiff uppers rubbed my ankles uncomfortably. I think they would have softened up over time, but I returned them in favor of Ecco boots. That said, they offer excellent ankle support. Roomy, but not to the point of being a half-size larger; more like I would need to wear heavier socks. They stay put on my narrow heels.
