I've had these boots nearly a year and they have held up well. I've used them both for snowshoeing (inside overboots) and for hiking. They fit me really well. I never had blisters or rubbing. They are very rugged and have lots of ankle support. Very pleased.

This is my first time trying this brand, and I am now hooked on the ultra lightweight feel, easy to non-existent break-in, and solid quality. My pair lasted nearly two years of very rough daily use, working off-trail in often ragged and wet conditions. They probably would have gone another two years no problem if I had taken care of them longer and if I did not log over 1,000 KM a year on them. The triple hooked laces kept my feet firmly in place and I never got a blister or twisted ankle while wearing these. The rubber guard in front saved me from many a stubbed toe and the rubber grip was solid in all but the most mud-bogged conditions. The breathable leather, paired with wool socks, left my feet at a comfortable temperature in a wide range of climates. My only complaints would be that the toe box starts to feel a bit pinched after a long day and the sole could be a bit more supportive for the price.

I cannot recommend enough of these shoes! I have had these for over two years, and have been going to hiking in the White Mountains every other week throughout the entire year. They are very durable, comfortable, and keep your foot warm and dry. Because they look casual, without the mountaineer's look, I also wear these around town when there is snow on the ground.

Prior to this I had a great pair of Lowa hiking boots. They were the best ever. Sadly I can’t recall the name, so I ordered these. Liked the look. Just too small! Shoot. They were a size 11. They felt 1/2 size too small.

I wanted these to work because they are great looking boots and appear to be durable. Unfortunately, not enough space for my toes.

Heel not narrow enough. Past need, main foot not wide enough.

Absolutely no arch support! I read a lot about people needing to change out the foot insert on these but i am never happy with inserts I find. Great quality and build on this boot!

I ordered these in 10 Narrow but they do not feel narrow at all. Sadly I am returning and continuing the hunt for a true Narrow hiking boot.

I work backstage in a theater, so I need something lightweight, quiet, & good for doing a lot of stairs. This fit the bill pretty well. This is a bit lighter grey in person than on my monitor, but still suitable for work. It's quite comfortable right out of the box, although I think I will wind up stretching the toe box a bit, as I can feel it rubbing on my little toe.

beautifully made, but I sure could not wear them out of the box. In fact they are quite stiff, and even with thick socks my foot moved around. Tried different insoles, extra pair of socks, different lacing technique for narrow heels, but I just could not get comfortable walking around inside my house. The insoles that come with the shoes are not good. Would have to use my own. Regardless I could not get comfortable. Must return.

If you have narrow feet like me, these may not be the boots for you. I tried every one of waterproof boots at REI before settling on these. I do feel like I settled on the one that fit the best, but that's not to say that it actually fits. A great boot, just not one for those of us with slender feet and ankles.

I wear a size 7 and ordered a 7 which worked great. I have one little toe that can be a problem if the shoes are not big enough in that area and these boots work fine! This is my second Renegade. I did have sole separation of my last pair after some years, but I like the boots well enough to take the chance. No real break in period. Just keep hiking!

I was looking for a good quality waterproof walking boot in a wide fitting but the wide in this shoe is more like a medium in other hiking boots. Too narrow for me. Also the boot is stiff both in the sole and the uppers. Unfortunately back they go.

The boots are of high quality--perfect for hiking. I ordered a size smaller-- from 9 1/2N to 9N-because my feet are very narrow. My heels didn't slip in a 9 narrow, but the boots don't seem very narrow. I wish the boots were a little longer and narrower. I'm not sure if a 9 1/2 narrow with inserts would have been better.

Bought for light hiking. Comfortable but the toe box is definitely a C and not D width even though sold as a wide. Afraid there will be tightness issues once worn for longer than a few minutes. Returning.

Not quite right fit for the wide width version... The wide width might work for a C/borderline D width foot. I found the toe box to be roomy and high, but sort of oddly shaped with a slope downwards towards the outside of the foot. The laces were also very hard to tighten, especially around the ankle, it's like the tongue is too stiff. This might change with time but was a deal-breaker for me because I could not adjust the shoe to fit properly.

Pinched in the left toe, even with a wide. I don't have very wide feet, just a tad too much for certain shoes.

Great shoe, but my toes hit the front when I push forward so I'd imagine when hiking down hill my toes will definitely be hitting the front of the shoe. I will have to return.

Comfortable, not enough ankle support.

Boot is super comfy, but the weight is a real problem! I’m used to wearing a super light boot, and unfortunately didn’t realize weight problem until after I’d recycled box. Otherwise, I’d return. IMHO, Not good for long hikes!
