this is my second pair. most comfortable shoe I've ever worn. Not soft and cushiony initial comfort comfortable, but solid, secure, all day comfortable. Already dreading the day I can't get them anymore

Love, love, love this shoe. Definitely consider getting 1/2 to 1 size larger than you normally wear. 1/2 size larger is pleasantly snug for me. Very stable platform. Excepting sole. Lace system is a little complex!

I had to return these well made, very supportive shoes because they feel much smaller than the size ordered. I'm definitely trying a larger size. They look great and have a very sturdy, stiff sole out of the box. The toe box suits my narrow foot with a somewhat tight, but comfortable, stable feel. hopefully a 1/2 jump in size will do the trick.

Excellent product, glad I got them. One of the only brands to make this style of shoe without using ridiculous colors. my last pair of approach shoes were Asolo brand (very similar design), but their new line only comes in neon orange and green;I can't wear that. These La Sportiva shoes are stylin' and fully technically functional. My only complaint would be that they run a bit small. I ordered a 43.5 (US 10.5). that would normally be on the large size for me. for these, I probably should have gotten a 45 to compensate for the mis-sizing. However, I liked the shoes so much I decided to just stick with the smaller size and snug fit (more helpful on climbs anyway). Just be aware when ordering.

La Sportiva's Boulder X are great shoes for light hiking. They are rugged for outdoor terrain yet delicate on your feet. Zappos has one of the best customer services policies I have experienced. The shoes I ordered came very quickly. The size, however, was a bit tight. I went online ordered the correct size, printed the label and in a matter of two days had the correct size and had shipped the previous ones with no cost.

This shoe is hella sturdy! The toe box really is tight, I ordered a full size up and it's snug but not uncomfortable. Only criticism I have is that it can get hot sometimes so I have to wear thinner, moisture-wicking socks. I Have the Raptors, which sold me to the brand and it's amazing build quality.

Just finished my 1st hike in these and really liked how you can adjust the fit with the lacing system. Nice, wide toe box, sturdy sole and supportive instep. Even though it's an 'Approach Shoe' these will work great for scrambling day hikes too.

Very well constructed shoe but it was too narrow for my wider feet. Other reviewers are correct, order 1/2 size larger than you normally wear and this might fit properly.

Excellent Italian design and craftsmanship! A true approach shoe. Built like a climbing shoe with a mountaineering sole attached. Super stiff sole with an aggressive and sticky tread pattern, that still allows for flex under the ball of your foot. The rubber rand is glued on seamlessly. The full length padded tongue and padded collar make for a comfortable fit, completed with a lacing system that is well thought out and goes all the way to the toe, much like a climbing shoe. The shoe is constructed with durable suede. This is a well built shoe.
It does have a narrow toe box. La Sportiva also recommends going up 1/2 a size. I have always been a 10 and ordered a 43.5. The shoe will break in somewhat.

Loved every aspect of the shoe. I under-pronate severely. After about a month, the shoe's outer side heel broke down and they have become unwearable. I need shoes with more stability.

I may look at similar versions of Scarpa, Vasque, and Asolo. This is the Bane of my Existence...

I have worn these shoes daily for several months and they are fantastic. Good quality, very comfortable and they look good. Unlike other reviewers on this site I had to return my first pair because I found the shoe to feel a full size larger than my normal size.

My husband is picky! Picky! And he loves these shoes. He has slightly narrow feet, but just fell in love with the fit, comfort, and rugged high quality of these. So, that's saying a lot coming from him.

I absolutely love these shoes! They are built very well and are super sticky, even in wet conditions. I work in a ceramics studio, where the floors are often very wet, they keep me safe and comfortable.

These shoes feel great. Happy that I went up a half size though. Because it's an approach shoe, the toe box is narrower than light hikers; although, these shoes are so comfortable that I see myself hiking exclusively in these.

Fit was one size too small. Volume of shoe is smallish-normal. Not the most comfortable shoe I've owned but I haven't owned or found many shoes that are very comfortable.

I have worn La Sportiva approach shoes in the past and liked them very much. These seem too wide and boxy for my foot, and the lacing system did not allow for cranking them down for a snug fit. Only wore them around the house for a few minutes, but feel in use on steep and rugged terrain, esp. as they wear and stretch out, my feet would be wallowing around in them. NOT what you want for technical scrambling. If you have a wider foot I think you might like them very much.

Love the style and functionality. I normally wear a size 9 in average widths. I had to get a 10 and they are still quite narrow through the toe box.

These appear to be well made shoes. However, the toe box was too narrow for my feet; and I have narrow feet. I ordered a size larger but that didn’t help. I intended to use these for hiking, but the toes are just too cramped. Too bad because they are nice looking shoes.

Being a huge fan of the Exum and Exum Ridge shoes (now discontinued) I was hoping for something similar for an approach shoe. This is much stiffer and really needs an insole (full days of hiking have left my feet aching). Good waterproofing, but large in the toe box (I liked the narrow width of the Exum; not here). Too bad La Sportiva can't make an affordable, comfortable approach shoe anymore. I'll probably be going with Scarpa or Five Ten from now on.

The shoe fit wonderfully at 46.5 for a US size 12 and felt very comfortable except for a seam in the toe box. The La Sportiva Boulder X is manufactured with a tongue that extends all the way down into the toe box over the toes to leave a seam over the toes that would irritate skin on long hikes.

Shoes are quality and well-made, but the sizing was ridiculously off. I usually order 1/2 size larger on hiking boots to accommodate extra socks and arch support, but these were a full size too small.
