These boots are fantastic with jeans, chinos, anything (wouldn't recommend shorts, though...). They fit a little on the larger side, I ordered a half size down and still have a good amount of room to wiggle my toes, even wearing thicker wool socks. That off-white sole is classy looking, but gets dirty easily and an old toothbrush with some warm water and a little dish soap helps. I wanted to be safe, so I sprayed these with a silicone protectant to ensure they were waterproof.

I've been wearing these boots for about 1 week and they are good. High quality leather, and not much break in time. I ordered 1/2 size smaller than I usually do and they fit perfect. These are a nice stylish boot. Although they look like work boots, I would say they are more for style than work.

This boot has excellent build quality, extremely good arch support and feels like you've worn it for years the first time you put it on. I love my pair and would recommend these to anyone thinking of purchasing a pair of general purpose boots

Great boot for bumming around and light chores. Bought October 2010. Soles are very soft and wore down within 10 months of regular wear. Good news, they can be re-soled. Done by a local cobbler that said though they're made in China, they're made like they used to make them here.

I bought these boots more than a year ago now I am ordering my second pair. They are great boots very comfortable and the suede holds up great. After one year the sole is starting to wear out.

I bought these shoes as a gift for my son and he was delighted with them. I assume they fit true to size because I ordered what he usually wears and he had them on two minutes after he opened the gift.

I love the look and feel of these boots, very comfortable and they do a great job of keeping your feet dry for such a lightweight boot but these are not work boots! I purchased these boots last December for work and wore them almost every day on asphalt and concrete and got them wet often and they barely lasted 5 months. The soles and insoles are completely gone. There is literally 1/8 of an inch between my toes and the ground. These boots look and feel great but this is a lot to spend on boots that don't last.

First pair of Frye boots and I absolutely love them. The look and feel are high quality and they didn't take long to break in. Worth every penny. I ordered a half size smaller than I usually wear and they fit perfectly!

I used to be a Red-Wing boot customer, but over the last few years I have not been satisfied with the quality and have been looking for an alternative. I've been wearing these Frye boots for about a week, and I think they are built the way that Red-Wing used to be. The boot has plenty of room for and insole arch-support that I added. I am very pleased with the fit, support, and style.

I'll purchase another pair before the fall. These are great boots. The wedge sole is a major relief on my back. The boot looks wonderful paired with Stitch's jeans. It's more stylish than work boot. I'm often asked about the boot, since I'm from a Timberland community.

First off I do not normally write reviews. These boots are worth taking a moment to share. They are truly by design: the perfect balance of hip, casual, refined and gristle. There is something to be said for great taste, attention to detail and just good decision making. Apparently Frye understands this. They nailed the nuanced expectations that I look for in boots. They are not too clunky, not too safe, not too metro either. They are classic and progressive with a solid chin. These boots have layers of thoughtful stuff going on without looking like they tried to go there. From the clean and simple lines, the not too thick toe, the not bright white but off white scuffed up sole, the just enough broken-in look, discrete and tasteful branding, the really well balanced color palette, durable leather, I mean I could go on here but whatever. I have skimped for cheaper boots before. But no more. These boots are worth a little more. Now that they are broken in a bit more I get serious comfort that should last years, not months. Oh, and I can re-sole them down the road too. That rocks. Downside: people always ask me where I got them. That gets annoying...

My order was exactly what I was hoping for and these boots are sweet. Took a couple of days to break in but really comfortable and slick.

These boots are the best. Extremely comfortable, and exactly as advertised. Sized correctly to shoe size as stated. I will not hesitate to buy another pair should these ever wear out, which I think will take a long time. I'm very happy all around.

These are really nice looking boots. Like others have said, the boots run 1/2 size large, so I ordered 1/2 size smaller than I usually order and they fit well. I have high arches and a thick foot, so out of the box these boots felt very tight on my forefoot. Within a day, they loosened up and have become my most comfortable boots. I bought the suede boots, so I cannot comment on how the leather boots will/will not expand. I am really picky about my footwear and I highly recommend these.

I tried on both the lugged version of the Dakota and the wedge version. The difference in support, cushion and comfort is HUGE. I wasn't too sure how I felt about the aesthetics of the wedge, but the arch support and comfort made the choice clear. These are--hands down--the most supportive, comfortable boots I've ever owned. And I've grown to like how they look.

I bought these for my boyfriend for Christmas and they are wonderful. It's water resistant and we've used then countless times in the rain. Warm and snug, they also look great with his dark washed jeans and winter sweaters do everyone wins. They do run a little big, so I had to exchange them to one size smaller than my boyfriend's actual size. Also, when he's in them for a long time, he says his arch hurts because there's little support. Otherwise, it's awesome.

They look sharp, well made and as if they'll wear well. My boyfriend doesn't lace all the way up as they hurt his ankles but other than he reports they're comfy and warm.

I was looking for a new boot, I'm in construction and was looking for something a little nicer than my beat up Red Wings that I've had for 5 years (one pair!). I wear my work boots every day, so I don't mind spending this much on them. These were pretty sweet right out of the box, well made, quality materials, really soft leather and a good sole. About three weeks into it, I got a blister on my heels, the heel piece inside was rolling over during the day. I was able to trim some of the material back and glue the remainder back together. The problem is gone now, I've completely worn through the heel material. (I've had them for about 5 months.) They're sweet boots, I don't think I'd buy them again because I doubt I'm going to get the lifespan out of them that I have from Red Wings, Chippewas, and Irish Setters. They look good in the office, and around town, but if you're doing miles of walking in them each day around jobsites, you might want to look at one of the more traditional work boots that these are styled after.

These boots run large. Order at least one size down, especially if your feet aren't particularly long and narrow. I usually wear a 10.5 or 11. With these, I'd order a 9.5.
