These shoes look great and fit very well. Even after several weeks they look sparkling white. The only problem that I have with the shoes, and this is a pretty annoying one is how squeaky they are. The plastic like tongue squeaks like crazy when you walk and it rubs against the rest of the shoe. In a normal setting where there is a lot of noise it isn't a problem, but in a quieter setting, it sounds like I'm walking on a bunch of dog toys. In the quiet of the library, the shoes were making so much noise, people stopped their work and stared at what could be so noisy. I'm hoping with more wear the squeaking will stop, but if not I'll try sanding them or something. Besides this one problem, great shoes.

Very good shoe overall, but with a couple of notable deficiencies. First, there isn't very much cushioning in the sole. After several hours on my feet, experienced pain under my heels (never had this problem with any other Adidas shoes). In addition, the insole is not removable so it cannot be replaced with an aftermarket (and more cushioned) insole without decreasing the interior volume of the shoe.

I love the classic style of the Samba, but it would be recommended that you buy at least a half size larger than your normal size as they are extremely narrow.

These are the best workout shoes! I was looking for shoes that are comfortable and are perfect for running and lifting weights. I had read a lot about athlete preference for the Samabas and thought I'd give them a try. I am more than satisfied. They are comfortable for exercise. They are comfortable for day to day wear. They have become my daily standby to grab and wear on the way out the door. If you're an athlete looking to get away from the hype about more support and cushion and not yet ready for Vibram Five Fingers and the Sambas are a great shoe that will give you traction without sacrificing your form or performance. I usually wear a woman's size 9. Ordered these in the mans size 8. They fit great with a nice pair of athletic socks.

I ordered these shoes because I find Adidas sneakers to be very comfortable and stylish at the same time. I was looking for a new pair and felt that an all-black shoe with the three stripes would look good. It did, but I had to return the shoes after simply trying them on.There's no secret this is a soccer-style shoe. I think that's why the tongue is as it is. But let's make sure we're all aware of how uncomfortable the tongue can be against your ankle if you are not wearing socks. I wear no-show socks and when I put these shoes on I immediately said, no way. I think they're good on all other accounts, but definitely steer clear if you won't wear these with tall socks.

This is a good looking, long lasting shoe. But, they tend to be a little narrow, and they have this huge lump that I'm sure is supposed to be arch support, but is really just a pain in the arch until you have sufficiently broken-in the shoe to make it go away.

I bought these shoes to be casual office/multipurpose shoes, and they work just great for that and they fit nicely, they look good, etc. One complaint. They're squeaky. Really. They squeak a lot. Probably only a big problem if you need to be really quiet walking around. It's like if you're a spy or a librarian, but it's sort of funny. I'm hoping a little shoe polish or something like that will solve that. Otherwise, great shoes.

Sambas are classics. The look, styling, and fit. In my experience, these shoes run a bit tight, but loosen up and form-fit after a week or so. They are comfortable as slippers now. One con I will note is that the shorter tongue on this model is made of/coated with a rubbery material which squeaks against the pleather liner. I'm hoping that will wear off a bit and stop making noise, but I may take matters into my own hands and sand it down to lose the squeak.

Pretty great. Nice inexpensive version of the German army sneaker pioneered by Adidas. A bit stiff but will likely get better after some wear. Would buy again!

Nice shoes for light wear. They have a sort of vinyl look/feel to them and squeak when you walk. But they're very comfortable and look great with jeans.

The goal of these shoes is to mirror the popular Samba soccer shoe. In this case the construction of the shoe feels a little cheap. But once you break them in, they seem to mold to your foot and look pretty nice as well! Overall I am pretty satisfied. Now it’s just trying to keep them clean!

Can't go wrong with a classic. They've been making this shoe longer than I've been alive and you can see the reasons why. Solid construction, quality materials, durable, and a timeless style. One word of caution, it fit a little snug on me. I'm normally a 12 and this one was a little tight in the toe. I think I might just be between sizes, but take it for what you will.

After a year and a half+ wearing canvas shoes only (Converse and then Keds) I was looking forward to getting back into the more traditional padded leather shoe. These shoes are stylish and reasonably comfortable for a good price. However, they're so very, very squeaky, to the point that I'm embarrassed to walk around my office with them on. I'm probably going to buy another pair of canvas shoes to wear around the office, and these will be my outdoors/weekend shoes.

This shoe looks great, but wasn't comfortable at all. The heel is just way to high and digs into the Achilles tendon. Ouch. Only had them on for 5 minutes, and knew they'd be going back. The Adidas Samba Classic is a much more comfortable option if you like the look of this shoe.

The comfort and style are both excellent! The squeaking is real but can be fixed. You should not have to fix it but here is what you need to do. The tongue rubbing on the area near the laces makes an incessant squeaking. Not a little bit but a ton. Put a little athletic tape on the tongue and it goes away. You should not have to do this but it works. I prefer the look of the Sama Millenium but they are narrow and less comfortable than these.

Not so much! I read the reviews and thought I could live with the squeaks if really comfortable, but it really is not for me. It is light weight which I liked, but dissapointed with the arch support and the overall fit, I am returning after trying on because I can tell I won't be able to stand in them all day.

I've owned two pairs of the classic black and white Sambas and had my eye on this all-black for quite a while. After my old pair finally wore out I broke down and bought these. These are the most uncomfortable of the three I've owned. They're super stiff, much stiffer than the previous two pairs. The tongue is a lot shorter as well, and digs into the front of my foot. They look sweet, but they're not a pleasure to wear.

The shoes are comfy enough (although not great); however, I gotta say, they are loud! I thought it'd pass with wear but I've had them for months now and they're as squeaky as day one. They also feel and look like they're made out of plastic instead of leather.

One problem with these shoes is that they squeak too much and are very loud. I hope this goes away with time because other than that they are cool looking shoes and go with anything you wear.

As soon as I got the shoes out of the box, they were squeaking. I'm not sure if they'll ever stop squeaking when I step or move, but I decided the leather was a bad choice. Width wise, it was fine. I have wide feet and was able to fit into these shoes fine at size 14.

First of all, these aren't your daddy's Sambas...definitely cheaper materials. The squeaking of the cheap tongue is horrid. There are videos on youtube about how to eliminate it periodically.

The shoes were narrow in the heel, but very wide in the "toe box". I should have paid more attention to the comments about the squeaking. I expected they would squeak on a tile or wood floor. They even squeak very loudly when walking on carpet. I sent them back.

Beware the squeak! I've been trying to break in a pair of black/black leather sambas for over a month, and they are the loudest pair of shoes I have ever heard. If you spend a lot of time in a library, or office, or art gallery, or anywhere quiet, think twice before buying these. The squeak -- like rubbing styrofoam blocks together -- from a casual roll of the ankle while seated is enough to raise eyebrows across a room.

These shoes squeak loudly! It's the material they use to make the tongue. I've been wearing these almost every day for 5 months, and they have never stopped squeaking. It's incredibly annoying. I'll never buy these again. Stick with the original Sambas with the long tongue. No squeak!
