These shoes squeak, badly! It is really annoying. The older ones never did this but these new ones do and it's really embarrassing. If I had know this before hand, I would not have bought them.

I just bought a pair of these and am pretty disappointed. I love the style (I bought my first pair of Sambas in high school in the early '80s!) but they are very uncomfortable. I've been wearing them for a couple of days now, and the left shoe is starting to really hurt the inside of my left foot, right above the arch. It feels as if something is rubbing or digging into my skin, right through my sock. I can't feel anything on the inside of the shoe that could be causing it, but I can't deny that it's happening. They also squeak pretty loudly when I walk and the tongue slides down the outside (no slots on the tongue to insert the laces through). They fit pretty true to size but I can't see myself wearing these anywhere where I would need to do a lot of walking. I'm sure I would get blisters on the insides of my feet and the squeaking would drive me crazy. Will be returning them.

I had a pair of Sambas once. They were great - nice arch support and fit true to size. I ordered these to replace them. They were completely flat on the inside and significantly bigger than my last pair. I am quite disappointed with the sizing and design changes. Luckily, Zappos is a great company with a great return policy!

I ignored the reviews that these shoes were squeaky and I regret it. They are the loudest shoes I have ever heard. I have given them a chance to break in and they are still annoyingly loud. On top of that, they are pretty uncomfortable. They sure look good, though.

Gotta say that I expected a better shoe from Adidas. Cheap feeling and the trim is all synthetic.

The product description says upper is real leather but when I got the sneakers, it turned out to be synthetic leather. The style is cool, though it is not good for workout. In general, as the shoe is not leather it will take time to break in.

They look nice, and they're comfortable, but they squeak when I walk. I'm a student worker at my campus library, so every time I walk I have to somehow rig my shoes to keep them quiet. The problem is the tongue rubs against the sides, and, since it's leather-on-leather action, squeaking ensues. I hate it, but other than that I like the shoes.

I have a pair of original Samba's (black w/ white stripes, tan sole)and I love them. They are very comfortable. I was expecting the same with these new Samba's, but I am quite disappointed. They do not have the soccer flap tongue like the originals and the inside is not padded around the ankle area like the originals. They are feel very stiff and a little squeaky where the new style tongue rubs the shoe. I bought these all black ones for work hoping for the same comfort that I was used to. I think Adidas has gone cheap on these new shoes. That's really too bad.

I returned these shoes. They looked good, but I was used to the material quality of the Samba K, so these less expensive fashion models didn't quite satisfy.

Shoes felt small. I usually wear a 11.5 and ordered a 12. Shoes still feel small and a little narrow.

Look, these shoes are low and tight; they have a binding effect on your toes. People love them for indoor soccer, but for casual wear you I'd go with something else. Also, they're slim and pointy and made from a shiny black leather that makes them feel almost like a sneaker imitating a dress shoe. They don't look great with jeans that aren't black, and they look worse with khakis, shorts, etc. I got roped into a step dancing lesson (!) and found them pretty good for that, but unless you're in Riverdance or an indoor soccer league I'd choose a different shoe.

Love the style but careful when ordering a men's size. I ordered the 5.5, which Zappos says is a women's 6.5, but it feels a whole shoe size larger than my normal size!

I love the shoes, but every pair that I have bought has gotten a hole in the toe after the first couple weeks of wear. The toe is not durable. I highly recommend Puma Paulista Novo as a replacement.

Classic shoe. Too bad it's not made as well as they used to be. I had a pair of sambas for 7 or 8 years, they finally gave out so I bought these. They were ok for about a month, then the sides started ripping open. Highly disappointed.

These are very uncomfortable. There is mo arch support, and the tongue feels sharp and hard. I am not even going to bother with breaking them in. These are going back.

Beware if you wear a size 14 in other shoes I would stay clear of buying these. I bought these and they were so tight in the toe area that it was nearly impossible to wear them. I had to return. Really nice looking shoes but they run a size/half size smaller than other shoes. Yes they are narrow but that isn't an issue, its the sizing that is.

These are very good athletic shoes. I can play almost any sport in them. The problem with them are that my ankle hit against the upper edge of the shoe sometimes, causing pain. This didn't go away with 'breaking them in'. Also, the tongue gives this terrible squeaking sound when rubbed with the upper of he ankle boarder. I tried to put tape there to mitigate, but it didn't work. Well, I thought these would be simple to overcome, but I guess not!

I bought these shoes for futsal and for the classic looks. Also assumed it was a safe choice since these shoes exists for decades now, so they must be good. At first they seemed okay except for the pretty loud squeaking sound they make with every step. I solved that with a bit of handlotion on the squeaking parts. Biggest problem with these shoes however is the fact that the tongue shifts to the side when playing futsal which is very uncomfortable.

Squeak, squeak, squeak. Why, oh why, did Adidas put synthetic tongue in this shoe that squeaks loudly whenever you move? This is a classic shoe and I've had pairs on and off since a kid in the '70s. The shoe is almost unwearable. Very poor. I had thought initially that it was a new shoe sound, but no - it's actually got worse and there is no sign of abating.

SQUEAK! SQUEAK! SQUEAK! I've been wearing these for several weeks and walked over 20 miles in them, and they still are squeaking so loud I can hardly stand it! I had another pair of Sambas a few years ago, and the material has definitely changed. The sole seemed more plastic than the softer rubber I remember, and squeaking is AWFUL. I've never had a pair of shoes that squeaked like this. I'm going to attempt to use hand lotion on the tongue as one of the other reviewers suggested and see if that helps, but should that really be required?!

I like these, have been wearing them a long time for casual wear. Poor quality/size control. I ordered size 9 1/2 to replace 9's that were a little snug. The new 9 1/2's are smaller than the old 9's.

Pros: Stylish shoe, good construction. Cons: The shoe tongue and parts of the interior are both made of leather and are always in contact. This produces a constant (and loud) squeaking sound that hasn't gone away despite a couple of weeks of wear. I've even tried to sand and file the leather to roughen it and make it less squeaky, but without success. The second major con is that the back of the shoe is higher than most socks, so it rubs against my Achilles and chafes my skin. Overall: I would not recommend this shoe until they fix the design flaw that leads to extreme squeaking.

Shame on me for not heeding the warning of those who said not to buy these because of the squeak. I have worn these for 3 weeks and still the squeaking is intolerable! I am embarrassed to wear them anywhere quiet. When I wear them in my house my cats run and hide! It's too bad it takes weeks of wearing to realize what a bummer these shoes are because now they have been worn and can't be returned.
