Having a tough time breaking in - the back of my ankle is so Weak. But they are very comfortable, and I love them!

Wore Sambas for years, then switched to the Millenniums for 4 years or so, then tried switching back to regular Sambas again. Disappointing. Not sure if the leather is a lower quality, but I've had them for 4 or 5 months ad they are not breaking in very well. I would suggest either the Millenniums or if the tongue doesn't bother you the Mundial Goal (those shoes are amazing).

These are really comfortable shoes, but after about 4 months they had a tear in the fabric on the inside edge of the right foot. I've had other Adidas in the past and they were quite sturdy, so I was disappointed that these did not have the same durability.

Much wider that I anticipated, especially around the toe area, and definitely squeaky. I've been wearing them 3 days, & they still make noise...I hope it stops! They claim to be leather, but they don't appear to be real leather - looks more like plastic to me - I haven't been able to figure it out yet. If I had seen & tried them on in a store, I probably wouldn't have bought them.

I previously owned a pair of these "back in the day" and love them. I purchased this pair again, and, unfortunately, am returning them. The left shoe has a white blemish on the leather, near the laces. And the right one is just uncomfortable. Painfully. I wore them for two days and because the tongue on the right shoe is bent, I developed a huge knot on my foot. I've requested an exchange, so, we will see.

Purchased these shoes for my husband. The shoe is true to size; however, it has no arch support, at all. Which you can tell in the photo, definitely for flat footed people.

Very stylish shoe. More support than expected, especially in the heel. These are really athletic shoes meant for indoor soccer. I have very wide feet, and even sizing up a half, I need to wear very thin socks with these shoes. Current rating is 3 stars because the right shoe is very squeaky to a distracting degree. If this works itself out, I will improve rating to 4 stars.

The shoe looks and fits as expected but they are uncomfortable because they have almost no padding and no arch support.

I bought these to replace a pair of Sambas that I have had for nearly 18 years. Unfortunately the style has changed since then (or the style I bought was a limited edition). These are as beautiful as my old pair but the fit is different; the tongue isn't as long so it's constantly shifting, and the heel part doesn't seem to come up as high. I was expecting the age-old Samba squeak, so that's not a big deal right now. Anyway, I will keep them but I wish that they still made the style I had in 7th grade. :(

I bought these because you can wear a lot of different things with them, and don't have to have a ton of different shoes. However, they aren't all that comfortable, there's not much support for standing all day. They also squeak all day while walking in them. I don't know if it's new rubber, or new leather, or what. But it will sound like the soles of your shoes are constantly wet on a hardwood or concrete floor.

These shoes do squeak a lot at first, but with some conditioner and baking soda mine have been quiet. They only squeak now when they're wet or it's raining out. I love the style of this shoe since it's versatile. However, after about a year or so of wearing them, the backs of the shoes have started falling apart, making them harder to put on. Definitely suggest using a shoe tongue when putting these shoes on to make them last longer! I also put arch supports in, and the shoe still fit really well!

These shoes look even better than I remember, but do they squeak. The tongue squeaks with every step. I tried to contact Adidas but they never responded. I hoped it would go away as I broke them in, but they still squeak weeks later.

I bought these after wearing a pair of the Samba Classics until they fell apart and for the most part they're the same shoe, but the tongue squeaks constantly. I've used tape and lotion as temporary solutions, but it always comes back.

I really like this shoe. The only problem I had was the leather tore on the inside of the left shoe, right where the toe bends. Never snagged it on anything, just tore under normal wear after 2 weeks.

I've worn the classic Samba for a while, and decided to try the leather shoe and see what the smaller tongue was like. I like the smaller tongue, but the bigger tongue also never really bothered me. My only criticism is that they squeak very loudly and it doesn't go away once you break them in. The leather of the tongue rubs against the sides of the shoe and makes a really annoying squeaking noise. The only remedy I've found so far is to rub hand lotion on the offending areas of the tongue with a paper towel. I have to do this once every two or three weeks, I've found, to keep them quiet. I was annoyed that Adidas would sell a shoe with such an obvious design flaw, but it's a very comfortable shoe, and the smaller tongue looks nice, so I deal with it.

This is a cute shoe the only fault it has is that it makes your feet look bigger than they are. I would suggest getting a size down.

Incredibly squeaky like the previous reviews have stated but for me its starting to die down after a few weeks of wear. Also I've noticed tying the laces up to the mid-hole pretty much nullifies all the noise (at least in my case). All in all I like them and hopefully the noise goes away in future makes.

Decent shoe for sure. The squeaking can get really annoying. I tried to wipe the top of the tongue down which helps temporarily, but I'm still looking for a real solution. The look is great though.

I loved the way the shoes looked and fit but they squeaked way too loud. I had to return them.

These shoes squeak, badly! It is really annoying. The older ones never did this but these new ones do and it's really embarrassing. If I had know this before hand, I would not have bought them.

I just bought a pair of these and am pretty disappointed. I love the style (I bought my first pair of Sambas in high school in the early '80s!) but they are very uncomfortable. I've been wearing them for a couple of days now, and the left shoe is starting to really hurt the inside of my left foot, right above the arch. It feels as if something is rubbing or digging into my skin, right through my sock. I can't feel anything on the inside of the shoe that could be causing it, but I can't deny that it's happening. They also squeak pretty loudly when I walk and the tongue slides down the outside (no slots on the tongue to insert the laces through). They fit pretty true to size but I can't see myself wearing these anywhere where I would need to do a lot of walking. I'm sure I would get blisters on the insides of my feet and the squeaking would drive me crazy. Will be returning them.

I had a pair of Sambas once. They were great - nice arch support and fit true to size. I ordered these to replace them. They were completely flat on the inside and significantly bigger than my last pair. I am quite disappointed with the sizing and design changes. Luckily, Zappos is a great company with a great return policy!

I ignored the reviews that these shoes were squeaky and I regret it. They are the loudest shoes I have ever heard. I have given them a chance to break in and they are still annoyingly loud. On top of that, they are pretty uncomfortable. They sure look good, though.
