I bought this shoe to train in for a trail/endurance race. The first pair felt way too small so I had to go a half size up. Fortunately, Zappos has amazing customer service so getting a replacement was not an issue.Overall, the cushioning feels a little thin and uncomfortably so, particularly on pavement. It almost felt like walking barefoot. But on grass, dirt, it felt more natural. I also like how well the shoes grip uneven terrain.I plan to use these just for training, and use another pair (from a different brand) for the actual race as I don't think the NB will last that long.

I received the shoes and they are great. The customer service is phenomenal. I would definitely recommend purchasing with Zappos. Nothing but good things to say about this company. All your sporting goods under one roof. And thousands and thousands of shoes to choose from. Definitely a return customer.

This is my second pair of this model shoe. Foolishly got talked into a pair of Nike in between these. I do mostly trail running with about 25% of each run on pavement. I'm not specifically brand loyal, these just work well for me as a heavy middle distance runner. 5'10" 185 lbs, normal run for me is 5-8 miles on trails. Good support, decent tread life, extremely durable construction (good yard work shoe once it's done running), excellent breathability (if you're driving with these on and turn on your floor heater, you'll feel it). Will purchase again unless comparable version in Asics came along at significantly lower price.

This is an excellent shoe. Very comfortable, well balanced and light. Be it gym or the outdoors this is a good shoe. I have put it through the test on some rough terrains and its performance so far has been beyond imagination. A good product to spend money on.

Size 12.5 is a bit small - I had to go up to a size 13. These are really light and comfortable. The sole is a bit stiffer than typical (road) running shoes. The build feels sturdier except the tongue which feels a tad bit flimsy. The mesh of the shoe breathes very well. I bought these because I'm a US soldier stationed in overseas and I need a pair of running shoes that will hold up to the abuse of this harsh terrain. So far, they've served their purpose well and have met and exceeded my expectations.

The shoe fits great. Very comfortable, but had to buy new laces. They broke in less than a week.

These shoes run about a 1/2 size small. They are light shoes, and offer little padding at the ball of your foot. The heel cushioning is okay, but not great. I don't think I'd buy them again. I do, however, appreciate the manufacturing is done with US workers.

Disappointing, which seems to be the case with a few NB shoes I\'ve purchased. Not very good cushioning, even on light rocky soil\/gravel, even when using third party insoles. Also very cramped in the toe area. I used these just a handful of times before I replaced them with a much better pair from a different brand.

I usually wear a 15 but I could barely get this shoe on. Also, lacked comfort and padding.

Good look, light weight, just a little smaller in size than normal New Balance of same size. Breaking in nicely though.

Okay shoe that does what I bought it for. I was looking for a trail walking shoe made for supination or under-pronation. When I put this shoe on I could immediately feel the gentle angling of my foot more to the inside which was instant relief to my knee. I said it is an "okay" shoe because the quality of materials it is made with are low and thus the longevity of the shoe is limited. After 2 months of walking with it 3-4 times a week on easy walking trails the footbed has obvious compression and the stitching on the outside is coming loose in places. The tongue of the shoe is not attached to the inside anywhere and is barely wide enough to be completely tucked under the laces. And, my last complaint, I had to buy a whole size larger than I wear in other shoes (Zappos return policy is the reason I shop here). So, the shoe does the job I bought it for, but won't last long enough to make it a worthwhile purchase in my opinion. The next shoe I buy I will spend more and see if that gets me more longevity from the shoe.

Love the brad but this shoe is way to tight it all most did not feel like a wide shoe and far share not a 4E and not sure if it was to short as my foot was in pain squeezing into them but I think it was. All my shows are this brand and the only problem I have is the fabric in the back of the ancel shreds after about 2-3 months then it is blister city.

This shoe is funky in a not so good funky way. I got the extra wide version of this shoe and the ball of the shoe is really wide, but the middle of the shoe is very narrow. I noticed right out of the box that the shoe insert was shaped like my old track spikes. I was looking for a trail shoe with good cushion and traction and this shoe has neither of these. The shoes look good and they are light weight, but they are not what I am looking for.

This shoe is less expensive and that is what you get. The shoe ran one full size small which is the first shoe I have ever had to add a full size. The support is minimal and the shoe laces have to be double tied to stay tied. It also has minimal support and if you have a wide foot the tongue of the shoe is really strange looking. I sold these to my brother; otherwise I would have returned them. Disappointed in NB.

This shoe feels very lightweight and would be great for the summer. The fabric is very thin and I can feel the cold winter air blowing on my toes, even while wearing socks. I purchased these to replace a pair of sneakers that I wear daily, and I wont be able to wear these outside until it is warmer. Not what I was expecting.

I almost always wear New Balance shoes and have been very happy with them, until now. I bought this shoe to use for hiking and trail running and was very disappointed with how quickly they broke down. Granted I spend a lot of time on the trail, but after about two months, these shoes were more worn out than some other New Balance shoes I've had for years. The seams along the sole are blown out and the webbing support straps have come loose in several places. I also didn't like the fit of this shoe - it was narrow and put pressure on my foot in strange places after wearing it for a long hike. While these look cool and are lightweight and breathable, they are not durable enough for the trail.

These shoes fit so poorly that I thought they were mislabeled. I've never had a pair of NB fit so poorly.

I have a wide foot and even though I ordered 3E the tongue is not wide enough to hide my sock. The fit is not great in general and the sharp tread pattern started ripping at the inside upper padding at the ankle. It was worn through to the under padding after the first walk. I have many experiences with New Balance, this is the first really poor pair.
