These shoes took a few weeks for me to break-in. My previous Salomon's were great right out of the box, but these guys caused a few blisters before being a wearable shoe. My trouble spots were my heals and the area right below my ankles which were blistered. I find that the shoes have a higher side profile than I was used to and it made for an uncomfortable break-in period. Also, these shoes get soggy pretty easily if you're using them for walking/running in the woods and the ground is even remotely wet. The temperature is neutralized pretty quick, but your feet/socks are still wet. I do love the pull-tie system, the look of the shoe and the good construction. Overall, not a bad shoe, but not my favorite Salomon. I'd spend extra money next time and get Gore-tex again.

Hated this shoe. Loved my XT Comp 3's. These are short in length and have an awkward heel designed to prevent inversion injuries, but hard to run in over difficult terrain.

I have been loyal to the Salomon brand for several years now, and I have gone through many of their different styles. When I saw these new XT Wings 2 in the very hard-to-find color of navy, I knew that they would be perfect for me. Imagine my dismay when Zappos did not have my size in this color. However, true to their word, they sent me an e-mail about two weeks later letting me know that the shoes were again in stock. I bought them immediately. These are THE best Salomon sneakers yet. They are so light and comfortable and breathable. I could not be more pleased with the fit. I wear mine all day, every day to work, and even after weeks of this punishing wear, they still smell fresh and new. That's great ventilation and materials! I will mention that, unlike many of the Salomon sneakers I have worn in the past, these were definitely designed for an athletic purpose. The fit seems to tell your body to keep your weight forward and over your toes, as in a running posture.

Very comfortable, durable, good looking. The laces take some getting used to. I ran 5 miles without breaking them in and they were perfect. Great shoes!

Love these shoes! But they do run big. I have a narrow foot and the quick ties can get the shoe tight enough. I have them in a 9 and 9.5. I wear the 9.5 for running and the 9 for resistance training. I am a fitness professional and these are the most comfortable shoes I have found in a while. Very durable, great shoe.

I love these shoes! Great for hiking and trail running. Plenty of room in the toe box for those that normally need a wide. Since my right hand's in a cast, it's great not having to tie laces and no more "double knots" to keep them laced. Well worth the price. They look good, too!

Love them. They have great support and have been so comfy from day one. Would buy them again! I went down a half size and they fit great.

Love this shoe! This is my third pair. Very comfortable for trail running, hiking and just casual wearing. I love that there are no laces and they slip right on and off. My sister is on her second pair. They are even more comfortable with an insert.

I love these shoes. I think the look and style is great, but even more important, they are extremely comfortable and light. I have used them more for hiking than running at this time, but I feel they offer good support as well as some cushioning. They are good for a neutral foot type. Also, they are roomy in the toe box area. I love the convenient laces as well.

I use these shoes for everyday including walking, hiking, yardwork, etc. They provide great stability and are super comfortable. I am on my second pair. They are worth every penny.

Great cushion and stability! Great for trails or walking! I run on moderate trails, and hike the difficult sections and these shoes work great for me! I also find them comfortable and light enough for everyday walking.

Nice light shoe and the pouch to store the speed lacing is very practical. Have used plenty in the last few weeks and still feels like new on the outer panels (strong).

Very happy with these shoes. They are super comfy & offer good stability out on the trails. Also, they keep the dirt & pebbles out. Love the color.

I love this shoe and bought two pairs. I wear them now instead of Asics. They\'re softer and easier to lace up with the easy-on fingers lacing system.

Best sports shoe for my feet. I'm on my 6th or 7th pair. I keep a new pair stashed in case they get discontinued. Many things to love with this brand and style. Comfort is number one, of course. Foot, leg, back support, lightweight, quick lace system so no stopping mid-activity to tie loose laces or fall, super durable. I walk dogs up-n-down the hills of San Francisco and my feet are good. The cushion these shoes have is excellent. For me, it feels like the shoes promote proper posture from the feet up. Not all Salomon's fit the same, but this style the size's are consistent. Side note: I was in line at a store the other day and 5 of us started talking about how great Zappos is, especially customer service!

Excellent shoe and excellent customer service from Zappos. I finally found an athletic shoe that is comfortable for my achy feet: a somewhat full forefront and narrow heels. I also need at least moderate arch support. This Salomon shoe meets all those requirements. Fastest service offered and arrived in perfect shape. It was also reassuring that if it didn't fit, that it could be returned with free shipping.

Amazing shoe. Waterproof to the highest degree and extremely light and comfortable. I have always anticipated Gore-Tex shoes to be hot, but these aren't at all. Would recommend.

Shoe is half size smaller than marked, as is the comparable XA GTX. I compared the two and while I am usually a size 6.5, with these shoes I have noticeably one medium and one wide foot. Both fit perfect on one foot, but just alright on the other. The xt wings is slightly narrow for my size 6.5 feet, but I think this could fix itself if I broke them in. It's padded well enough and while I can't feel the ground as much as I would like, it's more cooshy than the XA. The heel of the xt wings juts out past the side of the foot (which I didn't like) - making it feel slightly like wearing a boat. XA footprint is slightly longer, and by slightly I mean a few millimeters, but the shoe is nicely contained directly under the foot. So as long as you're not in the habit of tripping over your feet sideways, it's mainly a cosmetic issue. Between the two personally I'd go with the xt wings because of the width issue, but as I compared the non-gtx version of the wings, I'll have to try the waterproof ones to be sure width won't be more restricted with the gtx material vs. the mesh regular.

They are good looking, I'll say that. However, they are a half size bigger than you'd ordinarily wear. If you require firm support...this is not the shoe. It's very soft inside and does not provide firm placement of your foot. It's mushie inside and lacks support, so I have to buy another shoe. But I truly like the brand...they make a great product...but this one is just not supportive.

I have owned several pairs of Salomons before. These are my least favorite. They rub the outside of my little toe on both sides. I feel that they are slightly more pointy, if you will, than the Pro's, which I prefer. Still a good shoe. I will get the Pro's next time instead of the Wings.

Cherry color was louder than I cared for. Generally Salomon size 8 fits me perfectly, but these seemed much larger for some reason. I keep grasping for my original pair of XCRs or GTXs that I first had three years back. Sigh.

I live on my feet between massaging people and walking my puppy. I needed to replace my Gel-Trabuco's after about 6-8 months of use. I ordered 5 pair of Asics to compare and contrast. I tried them on at the end of a long day. This is my opinion (listed in the order I tried them on): 1. Gel Pulse 3: Good, solid, basic sneaker. Felt supportive and cushiony enough. Aesthetically pleasing. Ended up as choice #2. See Gel-Landreth for more details. It lost to Gel-Train Sensor because out of the box if felt a little too much like the Trabuco's I'm replacing, in their current state. 2. GEL-Landreth 6: Nice! Soft, comfy, love the heel cup! Very attractive. Felt awesome on the rug, a little lumpy on the wood floor and the heel is def lower on these than the others. Tried them on again after the first round, tried one left foot with a Gel-Pulse right foot and vice versa. The Pulse felt like a more substantial shoe, the Landreth almost strikes me as a shoe that could be used for sprinting. 3. Gel-Nimbus 12: No real opinion on these, not comfy not uncomfy. I wanted to like them but they didn't hold a candle to the first two pair I tried on. 4. Salomon XT Wings 2: My least favorite pair and I knew it the moment I slid my foot in. Felt like balloons, very roomy inside, kind of stiff last, overall very uncomfortable. 5. Gel-Trail Sensor 4: Divine shoes! Comfortable the moment I slipped my foot in, supportive yet soft and flexible. The difference between walking on the rug and wood floor was practically undetectable. Felt like I was walking on air. Kind of a tripped out, uber supportive slipper. I'm a solid side 10 and this 10 feels a tad smaller than the other 10s. If you're actually running in them, consider a 1/2 size larger.

Love these shoes for trail running. I wouldn't recommend them for everyday wear because they almost feel "sticky" on regular pavement. Super comfy, lots of room in the toe box. True to size. And they look tough. :)
