I just ordered a second pair of these shoes; my first pair arrived an hour ago, and they were so comfortable and stylish that I had to order another, quick. I have many foot problems: old stress fracture on my right food, dreadful deformed-looking bunion on my left, and my left toe just got seriously bruised (I was climbing a steep hill in Ireland) and is swollen to twice its usual size. And I'm short and need height. The moment I put it on, the Ulda felt wonderful: I especially like 1) the ability to make the right foot tight and the left foot loose, and 2) the extra height in a stable, unwobbly shoe. Highly recommended. I have no idea about true to size given my 2 distinct feet, but I had an old Mephisto pair of another kind and just ordered the same size.

I found this sandal after a fruitless search for new Mephisto Ularia sandals-- hopefully in both black and brown. The Ularia has been my mainstay for years, but there are only a few sizes left anywhere, it seems that Mephisto has chosen to promote the Ulda instead. I do like the color, as it blends with a lot of different browns and taupes and tans. However, looking down at my feet, I think the finish is a little too shiny, the Croco print is too big, and the straps seem too thick. I miss the smoothness of the Ularia, even though I guess it is good to be able to adjust the tightness.So, I am wearing these because they are a good color and the heel height makes them dressy enough for most of the day events in my life. But I don't love them.A sad observation: Mephisto seems to be making a lot of odd decisions lately. The fabled Helen sandal no longer fits well. The new black dressy sandal Cataron was impossibly tiny. I felt like Cinderella's stepsister when I tried it on. The All Arounder has much too much volume. It seems the company has lost its focus. Unlike Zappos.

I think I will keep this shoe although I would like a bit more cushion in the toe area. I was excited to see Mephisto finally come out with some new shoes in their Mobils line which is the only line of Mephistos I can wear. I wear an 11.5 wide and no matter what Mephisto says, their size 42 is not a size 12. Plus in all of their other shoes (outside of Mobils) the toebox is way too narrow for me. I have several pair of the Ularia Mobils but have had to have them stretched to try to get them more comfortable across the forefoot. With the Ulda, I can finally adjust to fit my foot -- kudos to Mephisto for that -- now if they would just get with the program and make their sandals in a size 43 (which really would be a size 12). The dark taupe croc is really a beautiful color. Like the Ularia, this sandal is a nice heel height for skirts and the office but in my opinion, not for walking the mall. Beautiful shoe.

Wonderfully comfortable shoe, especially if you have back problems. The shoes really support your back. They are also really cute.

Tried on about 20 different pairs of slides in a local store, then these, and thought, wow, this is it. Then found out they cost about twice as much as the other shoes I was trying on. Left the store to think about it, couldn't get them off my mind because they were so comfortable, decided to check Zappos; were less here. Wore them for 2 weeks throughout Europe, love the large stable footbed on their uneven roads, love the added height, and have gotten many compliments on them. Great shoe.

I have worn Mephisto shoes for years and always been pleased with the styles and fit. The Ulda is no exception. The silver color that I ordered is a bit dressier than the other styles and colors that I have and that is a good thing. Zappos made it easy to order and even upgraded the delivery. Love Mephistos and Ulda sandals are just great! Comfortable and cute. True to size, great arch support. Mephistos never disappoint me. I have several pairs of shoes and sandals of this brand and I find them to be the most comfortable shoes on the planet! And they are usually also better looking than Finn comforts - my other favorite brand for comfy sandals.

Gorgeous to see and wear. It's very hard to find a sexy shoe that I can walk in and this is it. It's the pink sparkly leather that does it. I live in Manhattan and walk everywhere, and have a bunion and this solves all those issues. Thanks very very much for all you do, Zappos.

I love this shoe. It is very comfortable, orthopedic friendly, and a good-looking casual shoe. Since I have bunions, it is nice to be able to adjust the straps. The service staff at Zappos is awesome!! It is the most help I've ever received in a store or online.

Heavenly shoes! I've bought several Mephisto sandals of this general type, all comfortable, but these are by far the most comfortable. And almost every time I wear them I get compliments on them (I have the green leather).

So, so comfortable. I recently had back surgery and needed a sandal with good support. I was surprised with the price, but decided my back required a sandal with all the properties of Mephisto. Hence the comfort and support of these shoes were worth the price. Also, these sandals run wide, plus they have the adjustable straps. Color is lovely.

Sole of sandal feels cool, light, and airy. Velcro closures allow for adjustment of strap sizes. Only problem is a pressure on little toes after a time of wearing them, but I think that may just be my own feet and not everyone.

Great shoe right out of the box. Very comfortable footbed, good arch support and straps fit where they're supposed to. I needed a little dressier sandal for wearing with nice slacks. These are just right. I can stand for long periods of time and walking is a joy.

This is my kind of everyday comfort sandal. The "mauve" leather (which is actually more of a concord grape) is so, so soft. I can easily slide into, or kick them off. The adjustable straps make for a custom fit. They have a little height, but, are very, very stable. It feels like a hug for my foot. The little holes, meant to add comfort, feel a a bit odd, but I'm thinking that my winter-soft feet just need to get used to being naked! I hope Mephisto keeps making sandals with a dark-colored footbed; they look nice longer.

The Ulda is very comfortable and makes a good walking shoe. Because it is sturdy and supportive, it is not as fashionable as a strappy little sandal, but the texture dresses it up a bit and the red color is fun. The shoe is wider than other mephisto sandals, even with the velcro adjustments. The customer service agent who hepled me on the phone was wonderful. He was patient and professional and made me feel that the customer is important. The shopping experience colors the way I feel about a product. I look forward to shopping Zappos again.

These are so comfortable I may buy another pair. I love that I can adjust the fit over the instep and the toes.

Creative Sizing! As others have noted, these shoes run very short. I had to purchase two sizes larger. And with increased size, regrettably comes increased width so the adjustable straps are really important. Sizing aside, the shoe is beautiful, comfortable and very well made. The removable soft, smooth and breathable insole, the soft padded straps, the rich color, the stable outsole are wonderful.

I wish I could return these shoes. I wore them around the house for a while, then wore them to the mall and the bottoms of my feet were killing me after only wearing them for two hours. I am very disappointed because these shoes were expensive and will not be used. Sad.

Very comfortable. The adjustable straps are great, especially if you have wide feet like I do. Great heel height and it's style that can go either casual or dressy.

Wow! I love these shoes, wished I had gotten them in black as well when they were on sale. They are so comfortable. The leather on the underside of the straps is buttery soft! Mephisto must have changed the leather from their previous styles like the Ularia. I also love the adjustable straps as I have very petite feet. I think they might be my new favorite shoes! Thanks, Zappos, for offering Mephisto!

I needed a pair of dress shoes which is a problem because I can't stand wearing closed shoes and I have various foot problems that require comfort. The options were to be in pain all night or to downscale on the glamor. Although this shoe certainly isn't a stiletto-heeled peep toe as one might normally wear on New Year's Eve, I found the Ulda to be a marvelous compromise as it is both beautiful and very comfortable, allowing me to dance all night (without pain!).

Other than the fact that Zappos signs their emails with love (and I guess that's just their new-age, California style). I have absolutely no problem with them. Oh, and these shoes are terrific. I injured my big toe on the left foot climbing a mountain in Ireland, and I've been wearing this pair of shoes for a month. They're very comfortable, and sometimes people walking by admire them.

The fit is true to size. Adjusts easily for the wider foot. Very comfortable!
