These would probably work for somebody... with extremely small ankles. But not for me. And it was a pity, because the foot bed material felt GREAT, but everything else about them just worked wrong. The back straps gave me blisters. The velcro on the ankle straps was just in entirely the wrong place for a person with normal-sized ankles, and because I could barely fasten them, the way they sat was just not right. I heard a good review from a neighbor who bought a pair, but they just didn't work at all for me.

I use them in the summer for adventure. I can't wear them because the backs of them dig into my heals so bad even when I wear them in the house and don't have them strapped tight .

I have worn the Teva Tirra sandals for over a decade. They have been my go-to hiking sandals without any issues until now. I was so excited to get my new pair, only to find on the first day of walking in them, that I had very painful blisters develop on the back of both my ankles. No matter the adjustments I tried to make, the back strap fabric is shorter than previous models and I I hope the product development people remedy this. It literally cuts through the skin.
I'm very disappointed that my go-to hiking sandals are actually harmful, likely due to a change in fabric and/or manufacturer.

There is a design flaw with these sandals. They rub on the insides of my ankles just enough to cause blisters after 30 min of wear. This did not change if you loosened the straps. Please redesign these straps so they do not rise as high and rub the ankle bone.

I am SO SAD about what Teva has done with the Tirra. I own 5 pairs from probably 4 years ago--in several colors. Finally wore out my blue ones, and wanted to get new ones--and found upon arrival that the sole shape is different and shorter compared to the 4 years ago version. Same size, yet it's curved less up towards the toe and also about half inch shorter. It also feels like the straps are shorter which makes it less workable on my higher arch. These were my go-to sandals, I am so disappointed in Teva.

Terrible fit on the heel strap no matter how loose or tight it is adjusted. On first wear the strap rubbed heel and ankle raw. Too bad because the shoe has a great sole. Can’t wear.

I use the sandals for leisure, shopping, going on walks a 2-3 times a week, and occasional moderate hiking. I've had my first pair probably 10 years and have loved them to death through overseas travel and national parks, so that they are more than a little ragged now. The new ones I just bought are exactly the same, except they're not. They feel shorter even though they are the same size, and the straps on the top of the foot are not as comfortable. They feel fine, just not great. I realize they are not broken in yet, and will probably become more comfortable, but the first ones I bought years ago and another style that I have didn't require any 'breaking in." The soles are good and I still like the shoes, but am a bit disappointed after the original ones I bought have been so perfect.

Although the shoe bad was plenty wide enough, the straps just were not long enough!

The ankle strap rubbed right below my ankle bone and after trying them around the house, I had to return them. Too bad because the foot bed was very comfortable.

The size was good but one of the sandals straps seemed mis-aligned and it fell low down on my heel. I have about 8 pairs of these in different colors. The right sandal definitely had somethin wrong with it.

i really wanted to like these, but unfortunately, not for me. my left foot was fine the entire time I was walking but my right foot was in pain the entire time. I've adjusted the straps multiple times over the duration of my walk and it remained the same. I'm so sad they hurt my right foot.

Bought these sandals yesterday, specifically to take on an active tour in Europe this summer. Wore them today around the grocery store to try them out and so glad I did. Blister on back of right foot and red sore area on left over Achilles tendon.
Very disappointed

Unfortunately both pairs were uncomfortable after wearing them for awhile in the house. Usually the Teva Tirras I have gotten over the years have been so so comfortable. Will try to order again and hopefully one pair will fit and feel better.

Other features are probably great, like arch support, half size, grip, water resistance. But it's hard to care when I've spent so much on a hiking shoe that ripped up my skin. Why this design doesn't include an additional pad on the achilles like some others is beyond me. I want to give it a chance, although I should probably return it.
My advice to TEVA would be to make one shoe that has all desirable features instead of trying so hard to differentiate all these water+hiking sandals that each have only some of the features.

A very cute sandle & LOVE that all straps are adjustable in width. However, the ankle support is very high - it hit the bottom of my ankle, making these sandles uncomfortable from the first step. Maybe it’s just me, but I’ve never had this problem before, and I wear all kinds of brands including Teva. Giving it 2 stars overall b/c comfort is king in shoes like this.

When I put them on, they felt wonderful. Then I noticed something: The heel strap falls just a tad too low, enough to drive me nuts when I walk in them. Disappointed, I ordered another style - same problem. So a huge disappointment. The only sandal I've bought that has a heel strap that falls that low, feels constantly nagging. Had to return both pairs and SO disappointed.

The fit was weird. Stiff and the ankle strap was too high. It felt like my toes were really out there as well. I was hoping after reading the reviews that they would be just what I was looking for for a up coming trip. I have 2 pair of Teva's and they had softer straps and they are so cute, but well worn. These are not attractive at all and are stiff. Sorry to have to return them.
I'd also recommend:
Ecco, Merrill, Aetrex.

Top front strap angle was too perpendicular to leg and cut into the front foot, right underneath the ankle.
Stiff and uncomfortable sandal comparably in the teva line. Teva's have been my favorite brand for sandals in general for years but my favorite ones like Pretty Rugged, and Meadow Luxe they discontinued. They're always changing many of the lines for trend reasons and sometimes the ergonomics suffer.

The Velcro on one of the closures was beginning to become disattached the first day I used them. I hope it doesn't progress because I need to use these for a long time - they weren't cheap!

I've been wearing Tirras for about 5 years now and loved every pair I've owned but something must have gone wrong with this pair. I ordered the mint green model and when they arrived there seemed to be a defect around the toe of the sole that made it feel like walking on pins. When I looked closely I could see bumps in the rubber itself that older pairs did not have. Back to Zappos they go. I'll try a different color and hope for the best.

The sandals are comfortable. But they are NOT the same color as advertised. I ordered the neutral multi color, which has a brown sole with a brown hue for the other neutral colors. I received a pair of sandals that did not match the picture. I called customer service and they couldn't find the color way sent to me in any of their records. They had me return the original pair and order a second one because the color sandal sent to me was incorrect by their own admission. I received the next pair, and it's exactly the same. It does not match the picture on the website.

I used to wear Teva sandals almost every day. But this new pair -- and I presume new design -- has a sole so hard it feels like walking on cement! After less than an hour feet started to hurt. I wore them at work for 5 hours and at the end was exhausted, feet and legs sore; took awhile to recover. I have heard this from a friend who also bought them recently.
