Disappointed with this sandal and unfortunately wore them before discovering why.
Good points are: they are true to size relative to previous Teva. I've read they are a bit longer and I would agree, just a tad but my foot shape matches the toe shape.
Foot bed is cushy soft without squishy stickey-out rim I've seen on other footwear that looks primed to get torn with the first sharp encounter. I have reasonable arches and the arch is perfect. Sole is soft and flexible enough to be one with my foot and I can feel the ground but pointy things don't poke. The wicked thorns here I expect would poke thru with relative ease but I'm not planning to do battle in the yard with these (and meticulous about policing what I cut.) I'm tending to go to Wides but this Med is fine, perhaps a tad narrow but not causing any visual or comfort issues.
Not as cute as the pair they were to replace, but cute enough. Utilitarian enough for the lava shore and trails here, fine for boat diving and would glide into a skirt for dinner at an upscale restaurant (here in Hawaii) without skipping a beat.
They appear well constructed, the outer sole looks suitable for rough terrain, isn't trippy, likely to be durable and equally well suited to the sidewalk.
The two point adjustable toe straps accommodate the various bumps that protrude different places on each foot and the slender webbing is more feminine than the wide webbing styles.
Bad news is the ankle enclosure is a one piece fixed position with no heel adjustment. The material itself is comfortable enough but the rigidity positions my foot too far forward and my toes gravitate over the edge. I have not been able to crank down the forefoot straps enough to prevent it although well enough to leave deep indentations and abrasions (painfully) trying.
I'm not overweight and have no hint of kankles but the fixed ankle strap angle immediately abrades my skin no matter how loose. Even if the strap is cranked tight the padded portion under the webbing is almost all on the Right side of my ankle, rather weird actually. I couldn't figure out why that strap hit so wrong until setting another very similar design alongside and voila! The one piece is rigidly set at a sharp angle, a good 2 - 3" above the pair with floating web in a triangle. So the whole sandal fit is wonkey entirely due to the fixed ankle one piece enclosure system.
I tried these on before purchasing and was a huge mistake to concentrate on the feel of foot bed and fore foot adjustability and assume they just needed some tweaking to find the sweet spot. After decades of Tevas, this is the first pair I deeply regret getting. More and more each time I put them on, makes no difference if I'm sitting down, standing or walking. If I kick my heel real hard on the ground a few times I can almost get my foot back where it belongs, almost. And within 20 sec motionless or one step walking, no matter how tight I make the forefoot straps, the heel strap shoves it right back forward.
Since I've never had any problem with any Teva or ankle strap shoe before, I'm rather shocked about the whole thing. I see the reviews are quite good, perhaps claiming they run small and needing a larger size not minding having Frodo feet solves it for them. I have seen some very happy reviewers with photos displaying as much as 1-2" empty space in the front. I don't mind clunky footwear but I have Universals that I wear sloppy loose that look better than that.

These sandals are amazing. I wore them for two weeks in Poland, walking for miles on cobblestone everyday. Though I brought other shoes, I never changed them out, the Tirra was so comfortable--which says a lot, as I'm 62, in pretty good shape but after a hip replacement last year. Highly recommended! My husband even commented on how sexy they are!

Although I put they are too wide- They are not overly wide my feet are a little narrow I also have low ankles. However, since I put these on my feet I have not worn any other shoe! They are so comfortable! I love them :)

I have back problems and can get myself in a mess if I walk a lot in the wrong shoes.
This is my third pair of these shoes (dog ate last pair!) I just put them on and off I go.. no need to break in, no need to take pain meds to sleep :)

These are perfect for me. I find them comfortable for long walks. They can look decent with a casual skirt or dress, and they're essential for crossing a stream, hitting a beach, or getting in a public shower. I will only wear footwear with decent arch support, and these are my casual go-to for summer.

I love these sandals! I've had my oldest pair for four years and just recently bought a replacement because I had worn out the reads in the bottom! I also have a second pair for dressier occasions. I have plantar fasciitis and these shoes provide the support I need each day and my feet don't hurt at all!

I have multiple sclerosis and must have a shoe with adjustable strap over top of foot, around heel and no elevated heel. Teva sandals are just what my doctor orders and make walking a pleasure.

Shoe is very comfortable. My feet tend to swell during summer so it's great being able to adjust all crossover straps.

Best sandals I have ever worn! I have a rolling ankle and it never hurts when I wear these shoes. No breaking in period.

This was my second pair of these sandals within a few weeks! I am 65yrs old and have had three back surgeries! When I first put this sandal on, I knew. This is as close as you can get to a hiking shoe in a sandal! They are so comfortable that I wore socks with them one day cause it was cold! I would never wear socks with sandals! I wear a size 8 and it is perfect! Love love love this sandal!

I like everything about the sandal except the fact that the ankle straps are too short to overlap except for 3/4 inch and the strap lining therefore only protects part of my ankle. There is lots of Velcro that is not covered so it catches on everything. The place on the strap where there is no lining is scratchy.

Finally bought a pair after my daughter told me how much she likes her pair. I love my new Tirras! They were comfortable right out of the box and even in a size 10, they are cute!

I have a multitude of foot problems - neuroma, arthritis on top of foot, tendonitis in medial aspect of ankle, and bunions. For years I have tried to find a comfortable sandal to no avail. I have paid as much as $250 for a pair. Every year we go to the beach for three weeks each May, and while I love walking along the ocean, last year I had so much pain due to my foot problems, I was unable to do so. The last pair of shoes I attempted for this venture on the beach was a pair of medical Crocs. I had heard about Teva sandals and prior to leaving on vacation, reviewed all of them on Zappos. I ordered the Tirra based upon other customer reviews. I also ordered the similar slide. The slide I returned because of lack of arch support. However, the Tirra felt good and I kept it. I now have four pairs of these sandals. I walked 18,000 steps in one day on the beach with minimal discomfort. I cannot praise these shoes enough. Because one can wear them in the water, I walked on the shore everyday and then wore the shoes for other activities. I bought another pair while on vacation and upon return, ordered two additional ones from Zappos. I do not know how else to say how fabulous they are!

This is my go-to summer sandal... my second pair.
In my opinion it is not the most stylish look, but the comfort and durability make up for that. I am in and out of a river on daily hikes, so this is perfect.

I bought these to wear in Disney World, especially when in the parks that had rides where I would get wet. I wore them in the house for two days to make sure they would be comfortable for 12 hour plus days. I almost returned them. The strap across the ankle was not very comfortable. But I packed them just in case, and it poured rain, so I needed them. I am glad I did; they were super comfortable when wet. I don't know if that is what they needed to break them in, but they are just fine now. They lasted even on the longest days, 14 hours, and never hurt my feet. I highly recommend for a shoe that can get wet and still perform. They are not my favorite Tevas (hence the four stars), but they don't make my favorite ones anymore, and they were not the best for in the water being a softer leather.
