something in the right foot flip-flop has stretched or ripped internally. I felt it happen, but it is nothing visible on the outside. It just feels looser than the left foot.

This sandal is extremely comfortable. The sole's footbed is soft, yet supportive. Unlike other flip flops, the strap is wide enough to keep the sandal from sliding around on the foot, but not so wide that it is uncomfortable. However, I am quite disappointed with the durability of this product. The fabric portion of the strap that goes between the toes tore completely through on one of my flip flops, which were only worn casually/gently and well cared for. I would have expected them to last much longer, especially since I have other flip flops that cost a fraction of the price that have lasted years.

This is my second pair and the only reason that I give it another try is that the first pair was extremely comfortable. BUT, the quality control is extremely lacking. The soles delaminated from my first pair within 3 months. I glued them back on twice (shoe goo) but it never seems to last. I bought this pair hoping the poor quality of the first pair was a fluke. If this pair falls apart within a few months then I'm done with Teva. They're comfortable sandals, but they cost way too much to replace every 3-4 months.
Hopeful,

I live in the country, work outdoors, walk up and down rocky hills, sometimes in wet grass. These slippers are terrific: comfortable, and the tread keeps me from slipping. When they get too dirty and I want to wear them to town, I take them in the shower and scrub them. Very happy with them until:
The lower part separated from the upper part. What kind of glue should I use to glue them back together??? There is still a lot of tread left as they aren't quite a year old yet, and as far as I am concerned, they still have a lot of life left in them!! For the $$ I paid here on Maui, I would hope they would last much longer.
(BTW, when I bought these, I didn't know they were for men---I happen to be a woman!)

I've relied on your footwear as a professional river guide for 28 years. This comfortable flip flop is not beefy enough for the rigorous conditions I encounter. No where near the "stealth" or five-ten rubber sole of previous models. And the soft footbed is not tough enough for my needs.

It is nice all over. The only problem I am having is if I wear them for a day, I get a bruise and sore between my toes where the thong goes. That's all. I guess I have to get used to them. They were a gift from my sister to me.

It a little narrow andit fits a little too snug. I like the soles and the lighter color (as oppose to black).

Last year I purchased 2 pair of the Katavi Thongs in different colors.
I wear them quite a bit in the summer. Both pair have begun to delaminate in the footbed. I'm currently using Shoe Goo to keep them going.
I am irked by the early lamination failure in both pairs of sandals.
I've been a loyal Teva customer for many years now, always buying the same basic style of sandals. I have worn out many pairs through hard use and I understand when the thong between the toes finally gives out. Having the footbed delaminate is a different issue entirely.
I buy directly from Teva.

I bght this sandle after losing my 2nd or 3rd pair of elixers i have had several models of the elixer and this is the recomeded replacement. these seem more like a $20 mush that the elizer. The elixer formed to the arch of your foor and stayed on never shifteed to side etc. you could basicly run with them, ,the katavi slips off does not have support etc.

Working as a river guide, I wear flip flops every single day during the summer. My old pair of sandals I had had for 4 years finally blew out on me, and I thought I'd give Teva a whirl for a change. These Teva sandals are comfortable, seem like they're super durable and also look good, however there are a couple problems. I noticed that when they get wet or when my feet sweat, the footbed gets really slippery which makes it hard to walk properly and makes a squeaking sound. Most importantly, after wearing them for no more than 3 weeks, they had developed a disgusting smell that got so bad I had to stop wearing them and went back to my usual brand of sandals.

I have had several pair of Teva's dating back to the first Decker pair. I loved the softer footbed and the wider footbed. I have a perfectly straight lasted foot and some pronation in my right foot. The result is that I tend to walk on the inside of the heel especially on the right foot. These seemed narrow and stiffer to me and I didn't like wearing them. I gave them to my grandson who is now the most stylish shod kid at St Francic de Asis scool in flagstaff. I am making do with an old pair and won't order from the website so casually I will try and find them at a retailer where I can try them on. I love my Teva sandals with the ankle straps and again it is the wider heel, softer footbed and the lip around the edge that makes them work for me.

Teva flops have been the most comfortable flip flop I can find. I bought a few pairs several years back and they are still the most comfortable - I wish they would bring back the models from say 2005-06 - still like the Katavi just not as comfortable as prior Tevas

Loved the original Elixer and even found a pair on [...] after the originals were discontinued. They last for 5 years of wearing them most days. They were awesome!! Couldn't find the originals anywhere so gave the katavi a try since some reviews said they were similar. I would say similar but not near the same flip flop. The top of the flip flop is too flat and doesn't have the same great arch support of the Elixer, plus it doesn't have the same sunk in cushion feeling in the toes and heel. Funny how there are so many people begging for the Elixer and Teva isn't listening. You would think they would still have the original mold and just pull that back out and make everyone happy but I guess not. If they are truly customer driven they will listen and bring it back.

Going on my fourth pair of sandals or flip flops and am not impressed with the narrow strap on this pair. My old pair seemed to have a wider band which made them feel more solid and durable.

I have gone through 4 pairs of Elixers. Staggering two pair for the last 5 years. The older pair would become my "house slippers". The newer pair I wore out of the house. I have horribly flat feet. I pronate and wear orthotics in ALL of my shoes. If I forget my orthotics, I cannot walk without a limp after 4 hours. After my foot surgery, in Feb 2010, the Elixer was the only thing I wore for 3 months
The Elixer was the only piece of footware, of any kind, that I could wear without my inserts. I am very saddened to not have the Elixer as an option. I really feel dumb for throwing away my last pair. After reading some motavi reviews, I am very hesitant to buy a pair.
TEVA, please bring back the Elixer. I have purchased at least 25 pairs of Teva's in the last 15 years. The Elixer, although a simple flipflop, was a staple in my closet.

Don't be fooled not a replacement for Elixer, which had better fit and comfort.
Feels like a better quality flipflop, but not worth the money.

I had a pair of Teva flops that lasted for 8 years. I don't know the name of the style, but the number on the tag is 6876. I love those!! Time came to get a new pair and NOTHING I can find compares to my old pair. I tried these Katavi's and they are ok. Still wish I could find something truly comparable to my old pair.

This is not the ELIXER for you former Exiler owners. Not even close. This product is no different then any other flip flop out there (Reef, O'neil etc)
If you are looking for something unique like the TEVA Exiler, this is not it.

I was really excited to get these but found after wearing them almost immediately that the straps on top are too narrow to support the heavier (as compared to typical flip flops) weight of these sandals.

I would have kept these because they look awesome, the sole is super burly and the arch support is good enough. So, what's my problem? These flops have a lip around the entire insole. If you're like me, and your feet don't land perfectly on the insole with every step, then you will be bummed because you step on the uneven lip every time. I have no idea why they decided to go with that feature on an otherwise awesome pair of flops.

I loved these until yesterday, which was 2 days past the 1 yr warranty. Side strap on one of the sandals pulled out because the cloth strapping which is under the sole and holds the side straps simply wore out and broke. This is too much too spend on something that does not last.

It is a decent sandal, but very poor replacement for the great Elixir. It is par for the course compared to other makers. It used to be that Teva stood out, but has come back to the pack at higher prices. The uppers of Elixir have been replaced by cheaper, less rugged uppers that are less comfortable. The shoe is noticeably more narrow, not allowing your foot to ride in the center. Overall, I'm not impressed.
