As a desert dweller with bad feet I have spent a small fortune on high quality flip-flops and sandals over the years. These are my go-to sandals, and I have had six pairs over the years. With daily use they will conform to the shape of your foot after a few weeks, offering excellent arch support and a customized fit. I have decided that I need to replace mine after about a year of daily wear, or two to three years of intermittent wear. They are still in good shape at that point but the footbed will have lost its bounce to a large degree and will have flattened too much for my comfort. I dinged it for style only because I am female and I have to order the men's size for my wide feet, and they are not exactly feminine. Luckily I dress very casually most of the time, and these look cute enough with painted toenails. Compared to Chacos the Katavi are more comfortable since the footbed has a little more cushion and conforms to the foot better, but the Chacos will feel more consistent over the years since the footbed is harder. The Chacos are also obviously better on uneven terrain since they strap to your feet, but if you have ever worn flip-flops you already know that they are not for mountain climbing. I do not like a suede footbed because I do not like when the suede gets dirty or wet. The rubber footbed of the Katavi stays clean and is easy to wash and dry, and the leather and neoprene upper dries quick enough for most purposes. Overall these are great sandals, and especially if you have any foot issues do not hesitate to try them.

This is the third pair of the same flip flops that I have purchased. They are very comfortable and last a long time.

If your looking for a comfortable flip flop that you can wear anywhere these are them. They are classey so any dinner house in the islands would be more then acceptable.i have worn many flip flops these are the best in comfort.

I have the same comment as first woman. Bring back the woman's Katavi's. None better for aching feet.

Was trying to replace an old pair of women's Katavi thongs that I loved. Unfortunately they don't have them in Women's any more so I had to order Men's. They are the exact same measurements as the Women's but only come in dark colors. Bring them back in Women's colors.

I had a bad injury a while back where my dr. stated that it would be hard on my ankle wearing flip flops and he is right. I have searched and searched trying out many different kinds of flip flops hoping that I could prove my dr. wrong, but I could never find a pair that gave me enough support until I came across the Teva Katavi Thong. They are very comfortable and I am able to walk miles without discomfort! They not only feel great but look great too!

A nice solid sandal. It is a medium width, and if you are a half size, order the next size up. There was a slight break in period, but if you are smart and work with the process by switching out to other footwear once you begin getting hot spots from the side straps, you will be fine. My advice is to break them in at least one month before wearing them full time in action. I use them every day now in Thailand, urban and beach. They hold to my feet well, and have just enough arch support to prevent sore feet at the end of a long day of adventure. I would buy a second pair when these wear out. Thanks Teva!

I was a little hesitant spending this much on flip-flops but they were totally worth it. From muddy creeks to granite rock jumps I beat the hell out of these sandals and all they wanted was more. I even cleaned them up and rocked them at my buddy's wedding. They are totally worth it.

I find this Teva sandal to be the most comfortable of all sandals for fit and for walking. You can walk miles in these, unlike most. Also love Zappos' friendly customer service.

I love these shoes. I had a pair for six months and my dog loved them even more than I did, so I bought a second pair. They're durable (except to dog chewing), roomy, and fit your foot nicely.

My husband loved these flip-flops. He was very hesitant to spend the money but after they came in he was sold. Comfortable, well-built, and will last a long time. He told me he has never had a flip-flop that had support and was surprised at how well these feel on his feet.

About five years ago, I found a pair of Teva Katavi Thongs in my size at a retail outdoors store. They quickly became my favorite summer footwear, and often doubled as slippers during the winter. So when they finally wore out this summer, I was worried that I would not be able to find a comparable replacement. There was a tag in one sandal with the model number, so at the suggestion of my daughter, I searched the Zappos site to see if they were still being made. Fortunately, they are! I have wide feet and I really appreciate the range of sizes and widths that Zappos carries. I ordered these Tevas and they arrived in about 5 days, as promised. They fit well and feel great, even better than the old pair. I m sure that some folks would consider these thongs very plain, but when you wear size 12, you don t really need to draw more attention to your feet. The soles have a modest tread that grips well on smooth surfaces (like stairs and ramps at the beach) even when wet, but not so much that you pick up every piece of gravel and bring it into the house. The design provides good support for my flat feet, so even after walking miles in these thongs, my feet don t hurt. The strap is soft on my foot, yet sturdy and wide enough so that the thong does not flop around when I walk. Overall, these thongs are great and Zappos makes it easy to place an order. Their return policy takes the worry out of on-line purchasing if you have a tough time finding the right size or width. I'll definitely be back soon looking at other types of shoes!

These are very comfortable with no break-in period. I'm used to Teva flip-flops so this time around I ordered a size 9, I normally wear 9 1/2 - 10 mens in sneakers, 9 in dress shoes and Converse, and since these Teva Katavi thongs don't come in half-sizes I ordered the 9. I did this because I had an older version of Teva Flip-Flops and the 10 became a bit too long for my foot since the fabric strap stretched a bit over time. This time the size is perfect with my heel and toes fitting directly within the footbed with very little excess space. Be aware that there is a protective ridge around the outer part of the sole, so if your foot is on the bigger side of half-sizes go to the next size up because you can't have your foot or toes on the edge of these flip-flops because of the ridge, which would make it hurt to stand or walk on (unlike flat soled flip-flops). They do make the "flop-flop" sound when you walk but that's to be expected. These also provide pretty good arch support, but they make my flat feet look fatter than they are.

Great comfortable shoes. I suffer from back issues and the pads on these shoes feel like you're floating on a cloud. I love putting them on at night after a long day of work and go for a walk with the dog.

I love a FF with arch support. I also like the ample heel cushion. I am always on the lookout for a comfortable pair of FF and with these I found the most comfortable pair I have ever tried. I hope they never change!!

I would suggest getting one size larger than you would normally wear. I am a size 10/10 1/2 and I ordered a size 11 and it is perfect. This is the best pair of thongs I have ever bought. It is like walking on a soft cloud! You can't go wrong.

This woman LOVES her men's Teva Katavi's for her plantar fasciitis as well as her wide foot! After extensive searching at shops, the internet, buying a ton of sandals of different sizes and brands from Zappos built for men and women I sent all but one pair back, a pair of Cascade's. I've done my research, read hours of reviews, tried lots of brands, models and sizes built for both gender. I ended up at a shop in Florida this spring [2014] buying these men's Teva Katavi Thongs and am VERY HAPPY. I bought them in a men's size 9, I would normally wear a women's 10, 10W or 11 depending on the fit in women's sandals. Being a woman with a larger as well as a wider foot I've embraced buying men's shoes/sandals when I find them the best fit, especially dealing with PF. I saw these Teva's on display and tried them on. At the same time, I also tried on some Olukai Ohana sandals as well as a few other brands. The Teva Katavi Thongs are much more comfortable and offer much more cushioning and I think they are slightly wider and sturdier than the Olukai's. I had previously owned a pair of Olukai Ohana's in men's and thus far am much happier with the Teva Katavi's. The Katavi's took a few days to strech the bands across the foot a bit, but... I didn't have any blisters and just a bit of red marks. I just switched out to a different pair of shoes/sandals and gradually [3-4 days] broke them in. Now I have walked miles in them and have been very comfortable. No PF flare ups - YAY! I use them around the house right now until the snowy and muddy mess of spring makes its way to grass. I will be looking to buy another pair. I have tried to research if there is a comparable pair in women's. I have not found any, that day at the shop in Florida I didn't have any luck in the women's section. The only other sandal that I have found that has worked for me in regards to fit in a women's thong or flip flop is the VIONIC with Orthaheel Technology Cascade which I'd bought when I ordered a ton of sandals to try from Zappos, all the others went back ;(. It is in a women's size 11. The width is a bit narrower than I'd like but they didn't cause any pink/red marks and didn't need any breaking in time. The Cascade's has some cushioning and arch support. When I compare the two different sandals on my feet the Cascades look a bit more refined and also make my foot look longer and the Teva Katavi's make my foot look a bit shorter and wider in them but they are much more cushioned as well as a better arch support as well. I'm ok with that! The Cascade is priced at least $$ higher on the Zappo's website than other sites. I prefer the Teva Katavi sandal to the Cascade. So, if you have a wider foot, want cushioning as well as arch support perhaps because of plantar faciitis you may want to consider the Teva Katavi no matter what gender you are. Like I said I LOVE MY TEVA KATAVI sandals!
