I really like this toaster, just wish it had room for larger slices of bread. If they had a larger slice toaster I would buy it, even though this one still works well. we like big bread!

Love this high tech toaster. The toast it toasts is sublime. Viva Breville. I will follow you anywhere, as long as there is toast involved.

The Rolls Royce of toasters was given to me as a gift and I love it so much, I gave my daughter one for Christmas.
I'd also recommend:

After our $25 toaster died from 7 years of loyal service, I researched toasters like a crazy woman. I didn't want to buy this but the 'A Bit More' button snagged me. I have to admit I could have bought much cheaper, but so far so good. Lots of use from kids and it's holding up well.

This toaster was a gift and the recipient was thrilled & very pleased with the features after using it. I want one for myself!

This is the third Breville Smart Toaster I've owned in the past ten years. They tend to quit working shortly after their guarantee or product protection plan expires. This new one has a feature that changes the "toast's up" beep from barely audible to nearly inaudible to mute; I preferred the more pronounced beep of the previous two I owned. While they're working, these toasters are wonderful. Hope this new one lasts longer than its predecessors!

I am very pleased with this toaster. I particularly like the "Bagel" and "A bit more" settings. There is one feature I wish it had that no toaster maker seems to offer. I would like to be able to toast one item at a time and not waste electricity by heating both slots. This should be an easy feature to implement and save a lot of energy of time.

I'm enjoying the toaster so far and I'm not having any problems with toasting that is uneven at all.

It is very well built, solid construction, it is beautiful, but it is not fast, the cooking time is long.

I am happy with the toaster so far.The long term performance will be the determining factor in overall satisfaction. The outside elements on my last die cast toaster died after a couple of years; let's see what happens over time with this new one!

It toasts pretty evenly but some of the heating elements are exposed more than others so when looking down into the slots while toasting, it appears that some are lit and some aren't. They're all lit, it's just that you can't see some of them because they are recessed behind the supporting plates. I'm not sure if this is "by accident" or if that's how Breville designed it. It would be nice if Breville could respond.

My husband and I both love the die-cast 2-slice smart toaster. I chose Breville because I assumed that the stainless steel would be the same shade as our Breville microwave. However, the toaster is a much lighter shade of stainless steel. They are not compatible in style or shade of stainless even though they are both Breville.

The features on this toaster are great. It would have been 5 stars, but the slots are a little shorter than expected. Homemade bread willneed to be sliced in half.

Feels good quality in terms of materials. Quite even toasting once you get used to the settings. We shall see how long the motorized operation works - hopefully get 10 years out of this like my last toaster?

A quality product, performs as promised, looks awesome. Attempted to buy extended warranty, automatically was transferred to USA, was told that no warranty is available for Canadian purchased Breville products. I find that impossible to believe. So I went through a Hudson Bay sourced extended warranty. Would love to hear from you as I am considering acquiring your 3-1 oven but won't if I can not purchase your warranty.

Full disclaimer: I bought this toaster because I am a gadget/design freak and love both the "leverless" design and the features like the LEDs that tell you how much time is left in your toasting. The die cast metal that stays cool to touch is also a bonus along with the modern design that dates well. This toaster would fit into any decor. It's also very quiet compared to a SMEG or KitchenAid and doesn't eject the toast so hard (unlike the SMEG) -- causing toast to fly onto the counter or floor. My one issue is the same that you see repeated in the reviews: over time, the elements begin to lose their ability to heat so you end up with toast that is grilled more on one side than the other or with bagels that don't toast at all because the inside elements are failing. Still, this toaster is my favourite (I also have a SMEG). I do wish Breville with deal with the element issue and I would like to see them borrow from Reveloution and incorporate a touch screen. That having been said, if I were to replace this toaster today, I would likely buy the same model again. Nothing else on the market is clearly as good.

Great toaster! A little pricey, but it is a great appliance. Our family has other Breville products and are very happy with them.

We like the features of the toaster, but it is still doing as the first one did making it darker on one side of the bread than the other side. What do I do?? Roger We have a friend who has the same toaster and hers does not do that..

Bought my second Breville toaster a couple of years ago. No as good as the first. Very disappointed. Am in the process of replacing this toaster with a different brand.

We received this as a gift from our daughter and son-in-law. At first it worked great, now we have been having the same uneven toasting for the past year as other reviews are saying. If you look inside while it is toasting, you can see that one side of coils is barely lit. For the cost that they had to pay, I would expect much better results. We like the features that are on it (lift and look, etc.) but would prefer an even toasting more.

I bought this beauty about 6 years ago. It toasted beautifully, indicated how much time was left in the process, and gave me an understated beep when complete. Unlike run of the mill toasters that weighed nothing, this baby weighs a ton. Also it cost an arm and a leg. But it was bought as a gift so it was no biggee. Since it failed, I have found that my cost for repairs would be about three times the cost of buying a new ordinary toaster, it is now history, and has been replaced by what I had replaced it with on day one, which still works fine. I guess I'm not a Rolls/Mercedes type of person.

Received this as a gift and works great with different breads and bagels. Issue with the toaster is when it is not in use it has a high pitch hum which is very annoying.
