Surprisingly short life. We have owned this toaster for a little over one year and it is already shot (with very moderate use). It does a nice job, but I expected it to last longer than this! I have to have my head examined for paying this much money for a toaster. I could have bought 3 toasters for the price of this one.

I love this toaster. For me it was a little pricey but I ordered it. It is worth every cent. It cleans easily. it looks great with stainless products. It toasts so evenly. You press a button and the toaster grasps the bread and lowers it down into the toasting area. This feature lets the bread stand straight up and it receives an even toasting. Bagels are great. There is a defroster function. When the toast is finished it is brought back up and the toaster rings to let you know it is finished. Very sleek looking and not huge. Mine is on a narrow counter next to my stove and it looks great there. My husband loves it. It also has a row of lights that run across near the heat setting knob. The lights go off one at a time which enables you to see where the bread is in the cycle of toasting. I wish I would have bought the four slice more expensive one. But since my husband and I are empty nesters, I will keep the two slice unit. I love Breville products. I have their counter oven and it is fantastic also.

Works well. One caveat - I purchased the the same style of toaster twice through Zappos. The first toaster toasted unevenly. After surfing the web, I found that a few other folks had this problem. I found more pros than cons in regards to reviews of this toaster, however. I opted to return the first and reorder the toaster. The second one works very well and am happy with my purchase. Has some bells and whistles that I like that other reviewers mentioned such as the countdown LED lights for time and a mid toast button to check toast doneness. Only because of Zappos excellent return policy did I opt to give this toaster another try and I'm glad I did. Love Zappos!

This toaster has a tiny motor that raises and lowers the toast slowly - so cool! It seems to toast evenly. The darkness adjustment slider near the bottom lights up with a row of LEDs to indicate how dark or light. My favorite feature is the countdown function where the LEDs show how much time is left, followed by a short beep when the toast is done.

I have bought many toasters trying to find one that toasts evenly on both sides. This has been the best one I've ever tried. I got rid of my others. As a plus, it looks great and is easy to use. It has a bagel setting, and I toast hot dog buns in it also. It's worth every penny.

What a great toaster! We both love the features - especially the "just a bit more". Looks nice, too. All the special features make it fun to use! Zappos is a terrific company!

You know, toast is simple food - or should be. I’ve had several bad toasters throughout the years and when I moved recently, I was loathe to search for another that I knew would fall short of the basic task a toaster should do: toast evenly on both sides without burning them. I’m happy to say this toaster works perfectly. It has smooth automatic functions that won’t launch your toast into the next room, it allows you to toast "a bit more" or cancel any function at any time, and it toasts both surfaces of the bread to an even (end-to-end) color and perfect texture. Silly as it sounds, now that I found one I like so much, I’ve been finding more reasons to have toast.

I needed to replace our cute red Kitchen Aid toaster which had died after 10 years of excellent service:). After doing research and reading other positive reviews of the Breville toaster, I decided to buy it, and I'm very happy I did. It is a wonderful toaster and it has useful features that are easy and intuitive to use. Pros: The bread toasts evenly from top to bottom and on both sides; my husband loves the a bit more and bagel features; I like using the lift and look feature; the LED lighting on the numbered bar are easy to read; and, it's classically beautiful and well crafted. A quality item. Con: The cost, but, I got what I paid for. :) Highly recommend.

Love this toaster. It does a perfect job toasting and looks beautiful on the counter. Very quiet and smooth!

I like this toaster so much that I bought the convection oven. It is constructed of metal and has a substantial heft to it. But the heft is not the most important factor...the even toasting, the pop-up-to-peek feature, the ease of cleaning the crumb tray: they are great things about this toaster. I'm hooked on Breville!

I've had this toaster for about 4 years now (at least) and it has been just fantastic. Really consistent, and I love both the "a bit more" and "lift and look" features. Was tempted to buy the same for my office but I don't love my co-workers that much LOL.

The Rolls Royce of Toasters. Imagine a machine that will allow you to place 1 or 2 slices of any bread into a transporter pad that then ZAPPPPPPPPPPs it into ideal heavenly toast. This machine is it.

This toaster does an amazing job of toasting 1 to 4 slices of bread perfectly. All our bread is homemade and has thicker slices, which this toaster accommodates nicely. Love the smart features also. I was tired of buying a new toaster every year. Thank you Breville for designing an appliance that actually does what it's supposed to do and looks pretty handsome on my countertop. Also the longer size is space saving too!

We will not buy any other product. We have had Breville products over 8 years and have had NO issue with them. We care for them and never abuse them, and these appliances are world class in design and in construction. We have yet to replace any of them, they just keep going, and going, and going! We have made thousands of slices of toast through the years and Breville just continues to work and produce toasted favourites again and again and again! Thank you Breville for a extremely amazing toaster from its heavy duty construction, to its outstanding out up of toasted products.

Great upgrade from a standard toaster.

After several months of perfect toast, I believe this is the best toaster you can buy. As with any new toaster, you will need to determine which settings work best for your taste, bread types and frozen items...since each toaster model heats a little differently. This toaster is well engineered and built. It is very easy to remove, clean and replace the bread crumb catcher. The plug with the hole is genius, and easy to use when you have arthritis in your hands. The cord is easy to secure in the bottom for storage. All of the heat settings work as advertised. The "A Bit More" is an amazing addition which no other toaster (I am aware of) has as a feature. The automatic drop and rise of the toast is fantastic. In my opinion, this is the Rolls Royce of home kitchen toasters, and I highly recommend this Breville product.

On my second toaster. Just love everything about it. I bought one for 90 year-old aunt, and she loved it (and she's VERY hard to buy for). Then, she bought her nephew one, and my sister too. We're Breville fans.
