Bates boots are the best! Other boots I have to put 2 shoe insoles just for comfort! With Bates boots just put them & go!

Super cool shoes but they are very tight on the top of my foot. Even after loosening laces it was very painful on the top of my foot. These shoes are very very narrow.

Nice pair of boots. Fit well and have warn in nicely. Traction of soles is a little bit lacking from others I’ve worn. So far after 3-4 weeks of use on commercial roofing, they seem to be holding up well. And as for Zappos? As Always, perfect costumers service and fast delivery! I really like the Bates GX8 and have owned a few pairs over the years. I tried the waterproof gortex just now and sent them back, here's why. With the normal GX8 the side zip makes putting on and removing the boots easier than just using the laces. With the Gortex version I found it to be much more difficult to slip on and off even with looseningthe laces and unzipping the side. Now I realize that it's a work boot and that the extra Gortex webbing waterproofs the boot all the way up while keeping the foot secure and safe. However with past and current GX8 without the gortex webbing I have always felt secure and solid without worrying about walking through a descent sized puddle. For my use and boot application I dont find it necessary and will opt. for the standard GX8 safety toe.

Overall, I was very pleased with these boots. Durable, great for long shifts, and easy to get on and off quickly. The only negative is that they do seem to run a bit narrow!

Too Narrow

Too small and tight. Returning for a larger size

Very stiff more then I thought they be, the left boot,upper out side just bothered me.

To Small

It was too small and green tight. I returned it and I’m not sure why it’s been over 3weeks now.
