The toe box was too narrow for my foot

Let me first say Zappos is awesome. I love the selection and the super fast shipping. It would be nice if every company would adopt your culture. This shoe is okay. I've owned about 30 pairs of Ecco shoes. About 90 percent of these have been the most comfortable shoes ever. These are okay. But don't meet the Ecco quality standards that I've been accustomed to. Once you were them for a few hours it will look like you've had them for a month. It also doesn't come with a removable insole. Most Ecco shoes do come with a removable insole.

A very comfortable shoe, and I was surprised by the low price. When it came I realized that while it has the high build quality and comfort of all Ecco's, they definitely skimped on the leather. It is passable, but wrinkled almost immediately and was clearly not as good as the leather on my Allen Edmonds or Cole Haan shoes.

Not bad but I have had the Helsinki Eccos for over a year and actually ordered the New Jersey by mistake. They are very close in terms of looks but are not nearly as comfortable and seem to be of lower quality. I am returning them and ordering another pair of the Helsinki.

I like the style of this shoe and have had previous ECCOs which were great. I've worn this pair the past month and there's a terrible pinching at the top of my feet where the crease on the shoes occurs that makes the shoes unwearable for any length of time. Really disappointed in the comfort of these shoes.

Soles wore out too soon

I've previously worn size 44 in other styles of Ecco shoes, but this New Jersey style slip-on was far too large in 44. Unfortunately, I then tried a 43 and they were too narrow and tight.

i currently own the same style show, but it generally felt narrower. the left shoe felt quite ok, but the right show was way to narrow by the toes.

Not true to size almost one size larger! I tried 2 different size’s, uncomfortably.

I've found this to be a low quality shoe. The leather is cheap, creases easily, and doesn't keep its color well after just a short time of wear. The thin insole provides almost no support and is glued in. Under the insole is a rock-hard layer of plastic that is not the best design for heal cushioning.

I purchased this shoe for work. It seems to be wearing nicely (too soon to tell though). It runs really large in the heel so my heel is sliding all over the place, yet in the toe area it pinches and seems small.

Fit and size were spot on. But every time I wear these shoes and do any walking that's more than walking from my car to the office, I find that my feet hurt non-trivially. I don't know why but they only happen with these shoes.

Great shoes until the heels disintegrated. Literally disintegrated! I contacted Ecco, but was told that because they were over a year old, there was nothing they could do. I explained that they were obviously defective. They said they were sorry. As can be seen, the uppers are in excellent condition, as are the soles. These shoes were not worn a lot. Clearly defective. I wear a size 7/7.5 im women's. I bought a size 5/5.5 in mens. These were almost 1.5 sizes to big. Nice shoe but returning.

I couldn't even get my foot in the shoe.

SIGNIFICANTLY LARGER THAN STATED SIZE. CANNOT TELL COMFORT LEVEL BECAUSE IT IS TOO BIG!!!!!!!

This is the worst shoe I have ever purchased. These shoes hurt my feet to wear and force my feet into an unnatural position. I have owned several pairs of Ecco shoes of the same size in the past and have always been happy with them. This time, I feel like my foot is significantly larger than the shoe. I have another pair of Eccos in front of me in the same size and it is amazing how different the feel on my feet. I use to think of Ecco as a reliable brand, but I am shocked at how much I hate these shoes. Unfortunately, I assumed that they would stretch to fit my feet (as other pairs have in the past), but three months later, I am still unhappy with the fit and they are much to worn for a return. I got these shoes as a straight exchange for another pair of shoes given to me for christmas. The exchange of those shoes for these was quite easy, though now I regret it, as they shoes are much worse. Buyer beware, get a different Ecco shoe, this one is no good.

The size was way too large. A size 5 in the USA is not a EU 39, it is a EU 37. I usually wear 37½ maybe even a 38, depending on the fit of the shoes and how large they run. These were at a 39, and I should have noticed before buying that the conversion for saying that this is a 5 - 5½ which it said these were, was incorrect. Sadly, none of your beautiful black dress shoes will fit me until these companies stock sizes for men with smaller feet. There is a huge slice of the market they are missing out on, I know so many people who do not fit the standard sizes, sizes which seem arbitrarily arrived upon, considering how many people I know cannot find shoes. I hope the companies that market these shoes to Zappos also read these articles, not just Zappos. I found my experience with this company excellent. Service was courteous, your policies are great. You may want to check with the size conversion charts on some of these products though! 5 = 37. Merci!
