Terrains used to be my favorite, go to boots for all types of activity, from riding to working. I have 4 pairs that I have been rotating for about ten years. I bought a new pair about a year ago, and the toe caps have come off, the arch support is not very supportive, and the sides have ripped out. I also have 2 friends that purchased Terrains in the last year and they both complain of foot and knee pain when wearing them. I noticed that my 4 old pairs were made in China and the new ones (including my friends') were made in VietNam. Ariat - time to improve quality and fit to what they were in the past!! Tough for me to recommend and I may have to look for a replacement. :(

Bought with excitement- returned disillusioned. Horribly uncomfortable- like walking in a vice. Hard cheap feeling leather and nasty rubber heels. They feel, and look, cheap. Very overpriced. Wouldn't by Aristotle again.

I have purchased Ariat Terrain boots for probably the past 15 years and they were always my 'go to boot' no matter if I was riding or hiking. I purchased a pair about 1-2 months ago and have worn them less than a dozen times and never where they have gotten wet. I just noticed the black piece that runs around the toe has begun to break away already. TERRIBLY DISAPPOINTED in the quality in my recent purchase! I never minded the cost of the shoe because of how durable they were. Can't say that about this pair. I need to rethink future purchases for my riding/barn shoes.

Had these boots for year now and from day one they gave me fits. First off I had to buy a boot stretcher to widen the throat of the boot because it was giving me blisters after 3 hours of use. Second the soles cracked during the winter right at the pad of the foot on both boots. Lastly the dye they used in the leather turns the socks orange. Wouldn't recommend for the farmer that is expecting their boots to last more than a year

After wearing the boots for 14 days, stitching broke on the side of left boot, treads came loose on Vamps and Welts are getting ripped!

I purchased these new and have worn them very lightly.. Material is falling apart.. see for yourself. I have used and own several Ariat products and have been very satisfied in the past. This ragged material gets noticed at the barn.

I normally wear a 8.5 EE. Ordered that size and my heel wanted to pull out of the boot with every step. Returned and ordered a size 8 EE and can't even get my foot to slide into the boot. It's almost like there is 3 shoe size difference between the 8 and the 8.5. Disappointing because they look like nice boots. I give up.

I bought a pair of these boots 7 years ago, wear them almost every day and love them. They were getting a bit worn, so decided to order another pair. So dissatisfied with the new pair, the scalloping on the toe and sides is very thin leather, nothing like my old ones. Also the insides are no longer leather, some synthetic stuff. I will be returning them to they store where I purchased them. You had a great product, sorry you had to cheapen them so drastically!

This boot is NOT the FB Ariat used to make. Extremely stiff boot. I kept pair from 2004 and resoled them several times, had the saddle stitched back together, etc... then my dogs got them. I have purchased 4 pair since and they're all completely horrible. The leather is beyond stiff and even after oiling, working them, stretching them, they are the worst shoes/boots I have ever owned. Everything about them is uncomfortable, where the opposite used to be true. The area above the ankle caves in and pushed on top of your ankle bone, they are so stiff. I have 4 pair of this newer version (husband bought be last pair with oil from the boot store in the hope we cools work these like a baseball glove-nope!). Terrible what has happened to these boots. I'm intentionally giving these to our dogs as dog toys. It seems the bomber version might be softer, but the leg of the boot only comes in pink. How many adult women really want to wear pink?? Epic fail, Ariat.

I bought a pair of ariat boots a few years ago in a size 8 they are too big I bought another pair of ramblers in a size 7 they're the exact same size as the size 8 I already have and I've been waiting for 30 minutes on hold and cant get anyone to answer when I just need a return

I've had the boots for about two weeks. First rain.... wet feet. Very disappointed.

I bought a pair years ago and they have lasted me this long. Absolutely love these boots. I got the fat baby and they fit perfectly for my wide foot. I reordered a pair of fat baby and they are NOT fat baby!! It was regular size which was to small and to narrow. So unhappy that you quit making the REAL FAT BABY!!! I would not recommend because of the change. To bad.

Ordered a 10 wide with wide calf and literally can't even get it on my foot. Extremely narrow. Wide and wide calf would fit someone with narrow feet only.

Boots look good and felt good for about 2 months. Then they start to fall apart. I have to glue the soul back on the BOTH boots on the inside. My last pair lasted 2 years so I am very disappointed in these.

Got a pair of these boots a few weeks ago expecting them to be water proof the very next day while riding my motorcycle I got in a rain feet was soaked I'm not very happy at all . only reason I got them to start with was they were said to be water proof never had a pair of Ariat boots before most likely be my last.

I purchased a pair of fat babies for a birthday present and one boot was sewn a different size. They won't send me a new right boot replacement. Terrible experience.

I bought these boots to go hiking.. probably the worst purchase I have ever made. There's absolutely no traction or grip on them at all, I was better off hiking in my Tony Lamas. By the end of the hike I wanted to throw them in the trash, my feet have never hurt so bad in my life. I truly hope Ariat reads these reviews.. I bought them during quarantine, wore them and of course now I'm stuck with a pair of mud room accessories.

I bought this 6 months ago and they lasted a month and the bottoms of the boots were starting to tear off I am constantly having to hold these things together with glue until it tears again and i have to glue it again.

I had heard alot of good things about Ariat boots and was in the market for a new pair in 2005 so I found the R toe and liked the look. The price was right too but I gave up trying to break these boots in after 3 years and only rarely wear them now.

I ride horses and I have 3 other pairs of boots I ride in that are 25-30 years old. It was time to get a new pair and I've heard so much about Ariat's comfort that I had to try this brand. After extensive research at many websites and reading dozens of reviews, I decided to try the Heritage R toe. I was sadly disappointed. Everyone said that there was virtually no break in time needed for these.....they could be worn for hours straight out of the box. Not true. These are the stiffest boots I have ever worn. I wore them around the house every day, gradually increasing the time. It was a relief to take them off. My feet would be sore, especially the ball of my foot. I felt like I was wearing high heels, like I was on a slant. I compared them to my old pair of Abilene's that has the same heel height and could not understand why I was experiencing this downward slant with the Ariat's. I finally discovered the problem, it was the removable insole which has thick padding at the heel and a thin padding at the ball of the foot. I removed this insole and replaced it with two Spenco comfort insoles (one Spenco on top of the other Spenco). Ahhhhh, finally, I could walk flat and not at an angle. Now to address the stiff leather which makes the boot feel very clunky. I read even more reviews, then eventually found a few people that mentioned needing to condition these boots to soften the leather. I did that and will continue to do so. I'm sure over time, these will soften a bit. I know I won't be able to ride in these anytime soon though. The leather is so stiff that I can't even drop my heel in the saddle. Sorry Ariat, I really wanted to try your brand, but I think I will look elsewhere next time.

Bought these a week ago, wore them 3 times (not roughly either) and they became way to loose! They're the correct size, but the leather around the heel and sides stretched out to make them uncomfortable. I have narrow feet and small ankles, and when first purchased they fit great. Now when I walk in them, they flop, and when I had to run in them a few days ago I about fell due to the boots trying to come off!

Ordered these boots in cooper, received distressed brown. Called Ariat & notified them the colors were mixed up on the order page. If you order cooper you will receive distressed brown. Ariat has still not corrected this problem
