I usually wear a very narrow 7.5 or 8, but I figured I would be wearing a thick sock with these shoes, thus ordered them in a size 8.5, which I had to return. I ended up with a 7.5 and they fit perfect. They also happen to work great as both snow shoes, and work shoes because they have so much support. And I think they are cute enough to wear with jeans. So multi purpose!

These are the best hiking boots that I have ever owned. They are comfortable the first time you put them on. There is break in time at all.

Wear the right socks. Otherwise rubs above back of heel. Comfy, warm, waterproof. Maybe 1/2 size smaller would be better. I'm keeping mine and wearing thicker socks.

I bought these boots a couple of years ago, and loved them since day 1. Very comfortable and warm. My only complaint is that the little piece of leather at the bottom of the eyelets tends to curl up.

When I slid my foot into this boot I instantly decided that this was the most comfortable shoe out of the box I could ever remember wearing. I have hardly taken them off since. I wear custom orthotics and I haven't even had to put them in. This is a first. They are warm and light, too. My main interest in shoes is comfort, and I have a somewhat difficult foot to fit, but I think these are also very attractive. I like that they have black and brown on them so they go well with more colors.

These are incredible boots. Comfortable right out of the box and fit wonderfully to size. I also think they are very handsome. Of course Zappos are always fast courteous service.

Bought a pair of these in C width to wear riding and for stable chores. They are awesome! I want to buy another pair for every day use but I don't see the C width available. I highly recommend these to anyone with or without horses!

I'm very pleased. The fit is true to size. It took perhaps an hour to get used to walking in them, and then I wore them all day with no soreness. The only thing I might change is to get new shoelaces for them, the ones that came with the boots seem long, but maybe that's just me.

Have long been in search of a boot that balances comfort and support without all the bulk; a good boot that works just as well for hiking (rocks and streams) as for the farm (mud and manure), and yet still cleans up nicely for those days when there's no time to change for meetings and errands in the city. A tall order, but these boots fit the bill to a T. My feet are on the wider side (8.5W) so I tend to go up a size (9), but they are very roomy. I'm happy with the 39 since I wear with thicker socks and my feet plump up after a long day, but 38 would have also worked for a more snug fit. These boots were also super comfortable right out of the box, are very supportive, and have held up extremely well. I get a lot of compliments (from the farmers and city-slickers alike). Very happy with and highly recommend these boots.

I bought these to replace a pair I've worn hard for the last 8 or 9 years. I love them. Comfortable, tough and look great - plus I can clean and oil them when they need it, as opposed to suede. I did have to order a half-size smaller than I usually wear.

Great boot! I have been very pleased with my purchase. These boots have been a much needed welcome relief. My feet have never been cold or sore on my numerous walks this winter. Right from the start they have been comfortable. I ordered a half size down and they fit perfect.

I have never been disappointed with purchasing Ariat boots. After buying a less expensive brand which I was completely dissatisfied with, I returned to Ariat's for my horse riding needs. I bought the Terrain as I now am not riding but working in a warehouse and suffering from plantar fasciitis. These boots have great support, especially in the arch. The ankle portion rubs a little which I mostly don't notice it as I go through my work day. They are very comfortable, but a little heavier than I would prefer. No break-in period was needed.

Ariat once again held up to my expectations of being comfortable on the first wear, right out of the box. These boots were no exception.

I put these boots on and they were immediately comfortable. I have been recuperating from a severe ankle sprain and these little boots give me the ankle support and stability I need to keep up with my hiking. I love that they are waterproof and look pretty cute with jeans.

I liked the look of these but my heel slipped & I felt like I needed more arch support so I am returning them.

This boot is so comfortable. It is my first Ariat purchase. I would consider purchasing another style without hesitation.

I purchased these in black (non-waterproof) to wear for walking, light hiking and motorcycling and they fit so well that I went right back and ordered the waterproof ones for winter that I know I can even use for snowshoeing. With a chronic sensitive achilles tendon I now need to wear a slight heel with all my shoes (sometimes in addition to arch supports and heel wedges) and these are just right and very stable with medium weight socks and no inserts.
