I have a weak ankle and the steel shank helps to keep me from rolling my ankle. They provide great stability for me.

Rarely do I find a pair of shoes or boots that I go out to buy a second pair! I wear them everyday. The first pair I bought several years ago and Istill havenot worn themout,but they now look prettywellloved asmy primary barn, mucking and trail riding boots. The second pair I bought a few months ago to use everywhere else (except to the Opera) so that I have one pair of "clean" boots that does not smell like the barn.These boots run a little larger and wider than normal american sizing, and I usually wear a 9-D, but for my ARIAT terrains I tried on the first pair and ended up surprisingly with the 8.5 Medium. They broke in to my feet with no rubbing or cramping. I LOVE LOVE LOVE these boots. Great for riding, hiking and camping, gardening- anything outdoorsy that needs rugged footwear. They are really well made, durable, tough and surprisingly water resistant.In the winter, I wear "smart wool" socks with them and my feet stay plenty warm (and it can get really COLD here). Best boots ever.

These boots are fantastic! I bought them for working and riding at my barn. I walk through slush, mud and dirt, everything with them. I bought thelighttanpair 2summersago, which have since turned muddy brown. They are specifically great because they are super comfortable, I wear them up to 10 hours a day in the summer, and they are more comfortable than my Nikes. I also really like that they fit into both english and western stirrups, which means I can work, then ride both disciplines in the same day! They are secure, though they fit my narrow feet a tad wide. The durability is incredible, especially considering I can hose them off, go through mud, get stepped on, and they have only scuff marks, no tears or fraying. Literally the only complaint I have is that they stained and that they are not very attractive, but I can live with that! You won't regret buying these boots!

These boots are the cats meow. Clean stalls and ride,never change the boots. They are very comfortable and very light. I love these boots!

I wear these boots everyday to the barn to work and ride in now since I got them in December. The ATS comfort is unbelievable I don't wear any of my other barn boots now. Theonly thing is they runabouthalfa size big so I wish I had gotten a 7.5 instead if 8 but it's really not much of a problem they still fit fine

I love these boots. They are very comfortable and I'm on my second pair. Unfortunately, California Gymkhana Assoc. has determined that they donot meet therequirements forGymkhana - even thoughany 25 buck fashionwestern boot from Walmart is OK. I would encourage Ariat to bring some pressure to bear on the CGA so we can ride in comfort and safety.

I bought these boots originally to wear while sidewalking with riders at a therapeutic riding facility. They were perfect for handling all of thosewalkingmiles and even allowedme to easily hop in thesaddle toworka horse. Next, my Terrains were my obvious choice to wear when volunteering at the 2010 World Equestrian Games where I knew I would be standing in the dressage arena all day long. And now, in a week and a half, my boots will make the trip to Machu Picchu where they will get a taste of the Andes mountains- I have no doubt they will feel great!

I have worn this boot for the past 7 yrs and as always its excellent. I am in Landscape and Construction so am on my feet all day and thecomfort of thisbootis incredible.

I absolutely loves these, couldn't wait for them to arrive. I have a couple of pair in brown! I have been looking forblack and here they were.Now Ineedanotherpair tokeepon the shelf! I usuallyalways have anew pair of brown, just in case I haven't had time to polish the pair I'm wearing. Being non-traditional in the line of work I do, I like my boots to match the tops I wear, my husband has to laugh! I have gotten a few of the other females that work out doors that now wear the same brand, they love them as well. Don't ever quit making them, at least not until I retire! Excellent womens foot wear.

So far I love these boots! They are very comfortable, durable, excellent quality, and great to ride in and work aroundthe barn in. The onlythingis, theyrun a bit big. Iam generally an 8-8.5 and eventhese 8sarea bit big.

I have owned these boots for around 8 years and I see no need for other boots. The last is extremely supportive and comfortable. When I put themon Ihaveimmediate comfortonmy feet and in my back.Otherthan s bit of dust, they look new. They have worn well without sepration, squeaking, leaking, cracking, or hardware failure. They were definitely well worth their purchase price.

I've had a pair of these going on 8 years being used 3-5 days a week and they just recently got a slight tear on the side, but I was able topatchit upandthey are stillgoingstrong. They stillfit the same astheday I bought them and are extremely comfy. I can't see buying any other style of boot.

These boots have lasted me 5+ years of hard riding - lessons, endurance, polo, etc. They are the most comfortable pairof riding boots I have everowned andare more comfortablethan my hiking boots even. Iabsolutely love them and would wear nothing else on my feet for riding

Bought my first pair of Ariat Terrain Boots 5 years ago. I wear them every day to work. They are as comfortable as tennis shoes.

Had my 1st pr well over 5yrs, till the stitching finally wore out; snagged my daughter's pr (she never wore them)And although 1/2 sz too big,I'vebeen wearingthesefor morethan6yrs now! I'm goingto get anotherpr in a different color, to rotate wearing them. These are great boots, comfortable and durable!

These are great boots! Mine are 5 years old. I wear them to work every day. They provide better support with just the right amount of give somyfeetstaystrongand flexiblebut don't become fatigued. Noother shoe or boot has performed this well for me. I have a narrow heel and wide foot and am hard to fit. I normally wear a size 5 D width but the 5.5 size works well.

I love love love these boots. I started hiking and walking trails.

Finally, I can't say enough good things about this boot. Quality, comfort, looks, durability, I love these boots, andfinally got a color Ineeded. Ihavean artia shoe from many years ago stilllooksgood.

This is my second pair because I wore out my first ones. They are so comfortable and are perfect for any career where you have to be up on yourfeet allday!I've tried several brands and these surpass any byfar! Definitely worth the price!

I love my Terrains! Had them for a while now and they're still in great shape and keep my feet comfortable and dry. I did have 2 pair, but my mom stole1 because she lovesthem too!

Been wearing these boots for over two years. Using them for cleaning stalls, horses park, riding and even everyday choirs. Wash them and go towork.Verycomfortable, Iamlooking in buying another pair for everyday activities.

I feed a donkey and mule herd every night in every kind of weather in my Terrains. They are awesome, always comfortable, great for walking overrocky ground.Simplyscrub them clean in the kitchensink and they are ready to go again.

So I've been keeping one or two eyes out for some good Western-style boots for a longish while now, and finally caved,snagging a pair of these.Ihad originally thought thatthey'd be uncomfortable andawkward,but as soon as I put them on, I knew I was wrong, wrong, wrong. They have to be the most comfortable boots I've ever tried on, and I have yet to find any shoes that are more comfortable than boots, in my opinion. I've a longer foot than some, and a wider foot than most, but they fit...wait...can't say "like gloves"....
