These are the ones! Following reconstructive foot surgery, I have struggled to find an over-the-ankle boot that will take me through the coming months of rehabilitation. Tolerant Zappos has let me try many different boots. I have a long scar on the outside of my foot and great nerve sensitivity, as well as a very weakened ankle and vulnerable tendon. I focused on lightweight hiking boots but found that each had some sort of problem, usually because of stiffness and a narrow or overly hard foot bed. They also tended to look orthopedic and mammoth. These arrived and I felt no trouble spots at all. I wore them all day with no difficulty. They are a nice looking, rich leather, with a classic "workboot" appearance. Two people commented how small they made my feet look, a result of the overlapping toe kicks. I am so pleased with these and they will save my upcoming vacation. I am a reliable 7.5 and that is what I ordered. Very comfortable out of the box. Also, they are waterproof. A great boot!

I love theses boots for cold and snowy winter days. They are my second pair so comfy and look dine with casual khakis for work. You won't have to break them in, they are perfect from start. I generally wear 9 but I wear 8.5 in these.

All around quality! Well made, very comfortable and supportive boot. Fit was nice with the exception of the heel area which was unfortunately too big for me - even with lacing up higher and tighter. Not sure if ordering a half size smaller would help?

I wear a women's 11A or B. I ordered these because for years I have had a pair of men's Terrain in a 9D. Go figure, I should be swimming in them, but they are a great fit. I used them as hiking boots, now use as work boots, and they are showing some signs of wear after a decade. I ordered the 11B. They were very comfortable but too wide both in the midfoot and heel. The heels seemed even wider than a B. I may try the 10½, as I want to stay with Ariats. They are amazing solidly made nice-looking boots.
