34 yrs ago I bought my first pair...still have them. Bought a new pair in early 2000's....still have them. Most comfortable boot ever in my mind. Hiking, ranch work, riding. Decided to get me some new ones cuz the old timers have long ago puppy chewed ankle area and looking a tad old---still wearable for real dirty jobs though. Over the years my feet have widened. I bought 2 pair knowing they don't come in a wide, only medium. Got em and they were tight. I could get em on but really too snug/uncomfortable. So I bought me a pair of shoe stretchers and hippee.....that did the trick. LOVE my new Terrain boots just as much as the old timers. filling out this review, at the bottom they ask how the size and width fits. doesn't allow me to add to their standard answers. For my feet, I had to stretch em.

..you know how when you try on a pair of shoes and you immediately know that "THESE ARE THE ONES!" ??? Well, this is how the Ariat Terrain H2O was for me. I have tried Ariat Keswick waterproof, Barnyard twin gore II, Tredstep Leffey pull on Paddock ( especially terrible!) and the Ariat Terrain H2O is hands down the winner. I am consistently a 7.5 or 38 or UK5 if the shoe is true and this boot is true to size. I will be able to wear a thin or heavy sock comfortably. It has wonderful arch support for my high arches and it is roomy enough in the toe box for my wider left foot without going to a wide width . I may order another pair for safe keeping as I do plan to ride my horse with this boot, but it would be nice to have a cleaner pair just for out and about that doesn't have barn soil! Thank you Zappos for allowing me to try on several pairs until I hit on just the perfect pair!!
I'd also recommend:

So comfortable! I have a wide foot so I appreciate the C width. Also, the fact that these are waterproof, and for such a reasonable price, is an added bonus.

I have never worn a pair of cowboy boots in my life until I got these. I never considered myself a boot girl. But OML these are not only adorable but comfortable and they look absolutely FANTASTIC with Ariat straight-leg jeans! These are my go-to boots for everything now. LOVE THEM! Order a half-size smaller than your sneaker size.

These boots, just like every other pair of Ariats I've ever worn are nothing short of excellent. They are light-years above any other brand of cowboy boot I've ever worn. What other Cowboy style boot can you go walk around in for a week in Gatlinburg and not have sore, aching, blistered feet. I've even worn them hiking on multiple occasions. Just give them a few days of wearing to get them started molding to your feet and you'll be in love.

I've had these boots for 10+ years, and I just bought a new pair! My old pair is worn out from tons of rough usage, so I bought a new, nicer-looking pair for church because I love these so much. The old ones don't have anything wrong functionally and are still going strong. Great quality.

I bought these for my 9yr old. She's taking horseback riding lessons and she loves them. They're super comfy, spacious AND how cute is that's detail!!! It's her favorite color. I might just get a pair for myself, lol

I have had these for a few weeks now and I have to say, they are so comfortable. They felt broken in right out of the box. There is no week of blisters and discomfort while "breaking in" these boots. And they look amazing. Thanks Ariat.

I started wearing Ariat boots 25 years ago. Although I'm no longer walking 50+ miles a week in the barn and arena, Ariat boots are still my go-to daily footwear. I'm on my 5th or 6th pair of Terrains. I anticipate at least that many more over the next 10 years

These shoes were roomy in the toe box without being big. I wear 8-8.5 in all athletic shoes, but read these run just a tad roomy. 8 fits perfect! They are so comfortable! Took them out for a little 2 mile hike to check them out and they did great on sand, dirt, rocks, wet rocks... I love them!

Great look and super comfortable feel, I work all day in mine and have never had any foot pain. These are a great change from boots and they have a riding heel that lets you be safe and still ride in something close to a tennis shoe c omfort.

This was my first pair of cowgirl boots and I can't believe I've gone this long without a pair! They are insanely comfortable and the most plush shoes. You can dress them up with a dress or dress them down with some jeans and a sweater. Totally recommend.

Tried these on at my local farm store and loved them. They didn't have the color that I wanted so I had to order them. I ordered them in brown rebel. It is hard to find good boots with good traction on the bottom to keep you from slipping during farm chores or really what ever you're doing. Overall great boots, love them, and would also love more color choices including the brown leather colors like in brown rebel

I never had a western style boot before, but I need a good work boot and decided to take a dive. So far so good! I've worn them a couple of times and they are comfortable. I brought extra shoes with me on the first wear, concerned that I might get blisters in weird spots, but nope - went home with healthy feet after being on my feet for 8 hours. I'm pleased with my purchase and think I made the right choice. No complaints! Plus, to quote my friend "they are stinkin' cute!"

I'm on my 4th or 5th pair of these. I use them for riding horses and use them around the farm. They don't track in dirt and are safe in the stirrup because of the smooth soles. They weren't designed as hiking boots as they lack heavy tread and are lighter weight for comfort in the saddle. They do very well on uneven dirt surfaces and offer all-day comfort and good looks. They are comfortable for long walks. That said, they are not designed for technical climbing, snow, or icy conditions. I use my waterproof ones with Stabilicers for icy long walks. I wish that Ariat would make the matching half-chaps again. The second generation of the half chaps were too tight around the ankle but the original ones would be hot sellers if you went back to that pattern again. I order 1/2 size down in this boot with medium weight socks as they stretch slightly and have plenty of length. The lacing holds your foot back in the shoe and the toe box is roomy enough for my bunions.

I purchased the wide width for the boot width and calf width, and it's the only women's boot I've found to offer a wide calf width, which allows me to wear skinnies or my regular jeans tucked in, with enough room for my calf. They're immediately comfortable, I wore them for a full work day in the western retail store I work at for the first time and there's no break in period--you can wear Ariat boots out of the box and that's why I love Ariat boots!

I am not new to this boot. My previous pair of the Ariat Terrain Paddock Boot lasted four years. I own horses, so these boots get a workout twice day for a few hours from the months of April to November. Then I need to switch to my winter boots for warmth. These boots are comfortable, sturdy, and extremely well made. My last pair were not waterproof, so I'm excited that this new pair is with the amount of damp grass from the dew there is each morning, or water bucket spills. I have to say, the laces are fantastic. They rarely come untied and they are just the right length. If you want a great chore boot that holds up to hard work, this is the boot for you!

I bought these a year ago for hiking Yosemite San Francisco Sonoma.
Used them thru the winter and spring and summer. Totally prefer them over any shoe or boots I have.
Looking for another pair to head off to more exploring . Love love love ??
