This shoe fits differently than UGG boots I've purchased previously. I usually go down a size in the boots; The Dakota was true to size, however the heel was a wide fit and my foot slipped out with every step.

I work at home and I bought these slippers to keep my feet warm while sitting at my desk and walking around the house during the day. I have Raynaud's disease so I was hoping the wool lining would keep my feet nice an toasty. They don't quite do the trick and my feet still feel cold but I don't think I can blame the slippers, I think it's just what happens when you have no circulation in your toes! Anyway, I ordered mine in the "Ivory Tower" color and it's a nice color but it is really light (sort of like french vanilla ice cream) so if you tend to be a bit messy or gets things dirty easily, you might want to either go with a darker color or make sure you buy the stain protector and treat them ahead of time. I've never spent so much money on a pair of slippers and I have to say I almost sent them back several times the first few days but they really are comfortable so I decided to keep them. The only concern I have is how long the toe area will last, because the sole of the shoe does not cover much of the tip of the top so I can envision this area wearing down easily. One other comment is on the styling: I am far from a fashion plate...I wear jeans or sweats all day long but I don't think it would be realistic to think you could get away with wearing these slippers outside to do anything other than maybe checking the mail. They are slippers that look like moccasins; they are not stylish or cool looking. Lastly, the fit was not true to size. I normally wear an 8.5 and ordered a size 9 thinking I would get them a little big so I could add socks if I wanted to and they are still a little snug. The area around the back stretched a bit but the toe box did not so if you are questioning what size, I think a full size up is a safer bet. Hope this information helps you!

My experience with Zappos was wonderful as usual. These slippers are excellent, except for the fit. I am a size 6 (in UGG boots and other shoes). I ordered a size 7. The length fits just right, but the front of the slippers are narrow. When I wear them for a while, I can feel pressure on the side of my pinkie toes. When they are broken in, it should fit better. I have been wearing them for a month now and they are still a little tight.

I was debating on these (Dakotas) or the scalloped moc. In a way, I wish I went with the scalloped moc, because my laces constantly come untied! I'm going to look online/put glue on them to keep them from doing this. It's pretty much the most annoying "con" of the shoe. Also, the scalloped moc didn't offer it in espresso. In the classic Ugg I wear a size 5, but in these I wear a size 6. I actually went to a store to try them out before I bought them to make sure of the size. They are very snug the first time. They shouldn't hurt to get on, but should be very tight. After an hour's worth of wear they loosened up; this is expected. So don't get to freaked out. Overall they're very cute, I've been wearing them outside in the snowy weather, and haven't had a problem. I sprayed them with waterproof stuff beforehand. A great shoe; comfy and great as slippers or to wear outside.
