Very nice boot! The leather feels soft, the quality is definitely there. But the shaft was too wide for me. Size 11W measures 19". Had it been closer to 17 1/2" as listed, I would be keeping them, but they just look too baggy.

It zipped over my calf just fine with room to spare on top. I ordered my usual size but it felt tight at the back of the heel. A half size up will likely fit better. I thought it would be a tighter fit like a riding boot, but it actually looks just like the picture - loose on top.

I have super ginormous calves. No, really: they are 23 inches (on my size 11W feet)! I have never found any boots that even come close to fitting around these monster gams. But these Fitzwell boots came VERY close! The left boot went on perfectly. Snug but not squeezing or cutting. No struggle to zip it up. The footbed was roomy (I bought a WW instead of my usual W to allow room for thick socks). My ankles can't take heels, so I loved that these were flat. Alas, when I tried on the right boot, it did not fit. I could not get it zipped. Eventually I pulled the shaft down about an inch and a half (scrunching at the ankle) and barely got the zipper too close. But it was such a struggle; no way would I be willing to do that regularly. The leather was thin and, honestly, I didn't think it was leather at first. And there is no padding or support in the footbed. But it was ok. I would have been happy wearing these... if both boots had fit. I can't decide whether to try another pair, in case the right boot was just a normal variation from pair to pair, or just give up again. For anyone with huge calves like mine, give these a try! They will surprise you!

I've had these shoes for a year now and I love them. They're perfect for walking around the city on rainy days. Overall, they are fantastic, but I do have a few issues with them: 1) The gel thingy inside the shoe broke after wearing them all the time for several months, and I have to get those replaced. 2) After wearing for a while, the bottom of the heel became very smooth and slippery; I even fell in a rain puddle once because of it. Again, nothing that the shoe repair can't fix. 2) The calf is a little wider than I'd like it to be. They are roomy on my 16.5 inch calves. I also have the Fitzwell Idaho boots and those fit my calves perfectly, while these are slightly large.

These fit my wide calf. The foot part is a little small, but with time has stretched. They look OK, but are more a good comfort option than a style option.

First let me say I ordered these Monday and received them Tuesday! Wow! What great service! These boots are comfortable and I am thrilled that they fit my wide calves! I took them out of the box and zipped them right up! what a pleasure that was! Awesome! I think they could look richer, but for the price, they are fine. Since I live in southeast Texas, I am hoping for a few more cold days so I can wear them before it gets too warm.

FINALLY! I found a boot that looks good, is made of good quality leather, don't sag at the ankle, fits my calf, and I am able to wear them over my jeans. I am 5'5" and 180 lbs and struggled to find a boot that fit over my calf. I did buy a wide width on the advice of others and they fit perfectly. If I would have purchased a medium width (my normal width) they would probably be a little tight. Very pleased with the boot and the speed at which I received them.

I ordered these in 7W in order to accommodate my orthotics and they fit perfectly. They zipped up over my 17" calves with my jeans tucked in and even had room to spare.There is a piece of elastic at the top to allow for an even larger calf. Well made with soft leather. Finally a boot that fits and is comfortable. They were shipped promptly. I'm very pleased with this purchase. If you have a larger calf, don't hesitate to try these boots. I'm so glad I did!!

Ordered these on a Wednesday and received them on Friday. I cannot tell you how much I love these boots! I have huge calves and narrow feet. These boots slipped on and zipped without any effort. These are perfect! The shaft is probably closer to 19-20 inches (which I needed). I read the other reviews which helped me decide on these boots and that's why I'm writing a review. I LOVE THESE BOOTS!

I love these boots! My daughter has them and recommended them to me. I am older and retired but have always loved wearing boots. I haven't had any for years because I couldn't find any in town with a cuff that didn't cut off my circulation or I could even zip up. These are perfect! When I wear them I feel so comfortable and so in fashion. The heel was a little hard, so I put some gel heel supports in them and it makes them feel and fit just right. I have recommended them to all my friends. I would love to have the brown ones too. Maybe Santa shops at Zappos too.

My calves are 20" and I normally wear an 8.5. I bought a size 9W and zipped them right up. Love them, thank you so much!

I love these boots! I have been looking everywhere for boots with a wide calf, and these fit perfectly. For those of you with an extra-wide calf, these boots should do it! They are so comfortable.

These really are extra wide - probably an 18½" diameter for a size 11. Still, a little extra room looks snazzy and is a good way to show off your socks. These are pricy but look it. They are great when dressing up for work or just wearing jeans. I bought a super cheap pair of boots from another store and the difference is shocking. The cheap boot shafts looked like felt or some kind of fabric. Those were returned! I love these boots!

I have a lot of trouble finding a boot to fit my extra large calves, but this is the one. This boot is so comfortable that I was able to walk around for more than an hour without sitting down the first time I wore them. Kuddos to Zappos for the great care in shipping them to me in great time!

I have tried for years and years to find boots to fit my wide calves. These are the first boots I have ever found that fit...despite multiple attempts at other wide calf boots. They fit comfortably and there is room to spare even with jeans and leggings (no cutting off circulation!). The style isn't the most fashion forward, but they are practical and will work for several seasons. The slight heel is nice to give a little lift, while still being comfortable. Based on other recommendations, I did order up a half size and felt like that was a great decision.

Very comfortable and true to size. I had a hard time finding boots big enough to fit my calves but these are perfect because of the extra stretch at the top.

Comfortable, classic boot that fits wide calf requirements. The leather matches leather on my Coach briefcase. I walk long distances on a hilly campus and this boot is comfortable. Plus, Zappos Customer Service is the best.

Wowee. I finally found a boot for my big calves. 18 inch with room for tights or pants. Very soft. Heel a tad slippery but I am very happy.

This is a winner. There are so many "wide calf" boots that aren't really wide so I was skeptical, but with Zappos return policy I knew I could always get something else. With this boot there is no need!! I love it! It really is wide, you can fit skinny or regular jeans under it. Side zip makes it easy and the low heel makes wearing it to work or running errands a cinch. The color and feel is quite nice and fits well with a sweater and mini for date night. This is pretty much the only boot you'll need for Fall. A must have in your shoe collection this boot is a keeper!

These boots are so comfortable. The shaft is wide enough to fit my calf and I can even wear skinny jeans with these. I work on a college campus and wanted a pair of boots that I could walk around in all day and these were perfect.

A comfortable boot, fits my size 8 1/2 wide 18" calf. Has space so I can wear jeans or knit pants tucked in. Does not bunch up at the ankle, holds its shape. Nice leather, not cheap looking, comfortable heel height for all day wear. Works with orthotics.

The perfect boot! I tried on many pairs to fit my extra wide calf, and this one was worth waiting for. Wish that Fitzwell offered the same boot with a little higher heel. I'd snatch them up in a second!
