Overall this is a nice shoe. I bought them for work, because it's hard to find an attractive leather work shoe that is waterproof and has rugged tread, but still comfortable enough to wear all day while on your feet. This shoe looks great and works great; however, this shoe is clearly made to be more of a dress/casual shoe and I would not recommend using them for anything more than casual wear. I quit wearing them to work because they were a little pricey and I didn't want to ruin them in 2 or 3 months. It became clear pretty quickly that these shoes are not as rugged as the soles make them appear to be. I think you will be disappointed if you buy these shoes to use outdoors. I love them as an everyday shoe though. I would also agree with other about the foot sweating issue. It was extremely noticeable at first, but seems to have greatly improved with wear.

These boots are extremely comfortable, warm, and grippy. The waterproofing works really well also. They're a bit pricey, but I feel great about the purchase.

The is the swiss army knife of boots. Great looking, comfortable, warm, and waterproof. Felt a half size larger than marked and replaced with no issue.

This is a good looking, well-made shoe. When clean, it looks as great as it does online. It also performed well when hiking in excessive rain and water. It's a much warmer shoe (it is lined) than I expected and better for cold weather wear than the late summer-early fall wear that I intended. This is my second Patagonia shoe. Both are cool-looking, innovative, and well-made.

This is an awesome pair of shoes. They are comfortable, nice looking, while still very capable. They do not breath all that well but they are totally waterproof. My tread came unglued at the tip after a month or so of wear but Zappos exchanged them no problems. Everything is good now. Thanks, Zappos, you are great!

Excellent made boot fits great. Wear 10.5 purchased 10.5 and fit perfectly. Did a lot of hiking on vacation and they felt great at the end of the day.

I have owned many brands of outdoor footwear. This shoe is lightweight, very comfortable and very high quality. At this price you will not be disappointed.

I got them just 9 months ago and the sole has already worn down to the point of being unstable/uncomfortable. For a shoe that costs this much, I would expect it to be more durable than this. Other than that shoe fit well and was comfortable; however, it has almost no arch support which can be noticeable after long periods of standing. Overall, the style is great, the comfort is good but the durability is poor.

I might have gotten a dud, or the quality control at this particular factory in China might not be up to par, but I received a new pair and the leather along the seams (the visible one running along the shoe) was cracked and there were these plasticky circles in random places, which might have been remnants from the waterproofing treatment. I returned them. If the quality of the materials and workmanship was better, I would have kept them because they feel great (nice touches like soft leather at the Achilles, fleece on the inside) and kept me stable in the snow and slush for the one day I wore them. The leather is a lot glossier than in the picture and in the wrong kind of light could look purplish. And some might look the exposed leather seam, but to others it seems kind of hokey and is more prominent than it seems in the pictures.

I bought this shoe for my son and he loved it but the heel began separating from the shoe in about a month. Pretty pricey shoe for low quality.

Super comfortable. A good travel shoe. Rugged enough to go for short hike but nice enough to wear out.

I bought a pair of these to wear while in Alaska a few years ago and found them to be so comfortable that I ended up wearing them to work upon my return. I've never found another pair of "boots" since that I liked better. They offer excellent fit, stability and traction. Although a bit on the expensive side, I believe this to be a case of you get what you pay for. In general, these are perfect for a broad range of activities from hiking to weekend chores. I've enjoyed them enough that I ordered a second pair and endorse them completely.

So far so good the only problem I have with these is they scratch pretty easily. But they look and feel really good. I can walk in them all day and also play.

Ordered Patagonia ranger is size 15 and a pair of keens in size 15. Keen a perfect fit on both feet, Patagonia 15's seem to be different each foot and cannot wear the left one at all. both say to be the same size, odd fit for my feet. Big heel, sloppy sides and painful toes?

This is at least the third pair if not the fourth of the Ranger Smith Boots I've owned, which should tell you just how I feel about them. Undoubtedly the best boots I've ever owned or worn. They provide excellent support, traction and comfort in many types of terrains, including an environment of nothing more than a concrete dock. I've worn them to Alaska in towns such as Juneau, Fairbanks, Anchorage and even Denali over a 10 day period and found them to be perfect in every aspect. Although a bit on the expensive side as boots go, these are worth every penny in my opinion especially if you find yourself miserable after wearing the wrong boots in the wrong place. They have been durable and clean up nicely. The only downside that I've ever found is that the shoelaces could have been engineered to last longer. However, not a serious reason to eliminate these from consideration. The insoles are removable, which means you can replace them with almost anything you desire. Overall, a five-star boot in my opinion.

My second pair, love them, wonderful in the winter especially when it's bitter cold but they are not 100% waterproof. Both my first and this latest pair leak!

I've had these shoes for three weeks now and have worn them quite a bit. I'm very satisfied with the fit. It is true to size. I've worn them while shoveling the snow in sub-zero temperatures (Fahreinheit)and my feet stay warm and dry and I don't find them as warm as others have stated in their reviews. I can wear them to work in a business casual environment and they don't look like i'm wearing a boot. They are bulkier than a shoe but they look good with khakis and a dress shirt. They are very comfortable shoes and did not take more than one day to break in.

Comfortable and fairly warm. I am not standing in snow...but for casual walking in 20-30 degrees in Montana they are comfortable.

I have worn these shoes a few days a week for about a month now. These are the most comfortable shoes I've ever had. If it is 60F or below outside, the thick lining is appropriately warm, though a little uncomfortable if it is much warmer outside.
The support provided by these shoes is excellent. I work from a ladder a little everyday, and all my other shoes don't support well. So, my feet hurt. These shoes are a perfect blend of casual and boot, great for walking all day, and great for standing on a ladder.
I have a fairly flat foot, size 14, and these shoes fit me perfectly.

The boots are amazingly comfortable, lightweight, and functional. Patagonia continues to make high quality products with the best material and does not disappoint here. You really do get what you pay for. Very pleased with the purchase.

These shoes have great traction, but almost immediately the inserts separated on the inside and would start creeping up my heel as I walked. This got to be quite painful, even got a blister. The fix was to just take the inserts out, the boot is quite comfortable without.
