Loved the look of this shoe, however I could not even begin to get my foot in it. Will be going back unfortunately.

Looking for something as comfortable but dressier than a black athletic shoe to wear to work with pants. This is not it. I have foot problems and work on my feet. The looked as pictured, nicer than an athletic shoe for sure. Not much cushion or support and ran narrower and shorter than my normal size. No extra room in toe box, heel fit well, although seemed low around heel. Very disappointed, I thought Aravon's would be amazingly comfortable but this style wasn't for me.

I was initially not happy with these and thought that I might have to send them back. But I needed shoes very much and wore them a little each day to see if I could get used to them. The main issue is that they are fairly straight in width from toe to heel. My feet are narrow at the heel and wide across ball of the foot. I have gotten used to the fit now. The only issue left is that the right one squeaks. They do seem to be well made, I just wish they were narrower at the heels.

If you have tiny Cinderella size feet these might work for you but on my 9.5 size feet the effect was more lumberjack. Comfort doesn't have to look like that. They go back.

I have been searching for a comfortable "black sneaker" for travel and walking. Everything I tried looked clunky and huge. I also didn't want the wild colors of athletic shoes, nor the giant heels. These shoes are just right! They feel great inside--I'll be able to do lots of walking in them! The style is well, just a little frumpy--I think the perforations in the side add to this. Wish I'd seen the Francesca's first. But anyway, when you have the shoes on and look straight down at them, they are fine looking--a simple, black lace up look, and my slacks cover those perforations, hah!

This is a great shoe and the most expensive shoe I have ever purchased. They are so comfortable and supportive for my flat feet. I have a wide foot and narrow heels and they accommodate that. Wish I could find them in a nice brown.

Really nice shoe. Attractive, well made, fits perfectly. The problem is the sole, which is not supportive. It failed my Podiatrist's flexibility test. Hold the heel in one hand, the toe in the other, twist the shoe from side to side and try to fold the toe up towards the heel. The shoe should resist and should not easily fold towards the heel. It was too flexible on all counts. It also failed my comfort test for the same reason - it didn't feel good under my feet. So, back to Zappos!
I'd also recommend:
Regular New Balance shoes are not flexible like this and offer true support, they just aren't as attractive unfortunately

I wanted a shoe that was as comfortable as a sneaker, but looks like a dress shoe. This is particularly important to me in winter for trying to keep my feet warm. These shoes do look good and allow me to wear them with socks, so I am happy with them.

Nice-looking shoe for jeans or slacks. Iwas disappointed it wasn't deep enough for my bulky orthotics. Since I did not wear these shoes, I cannot fairly rate the comfort.

I like the black nubuck. I wear a leg brace, and found it a little narrow on that foot, but fit my other foot fine. I am worried that ordering another half size up will make it too large for my other foot. I may re-order after I look at other shoes. I am going on a trip and need comfortable walking shoes.

Great looking shoe. Unfortunately, it was not as wide as it looks in the picture. I have wide feet.

I liike the looks of these shoes and the color. However, they were laced so tightly I couldn't get my foot into the shoe without redoing the laces. Further, when I measured the sole against other shoes of the same size and width, this shoe was almost a quarter of an inch narrower than the others. However, when I finally got my foot into the shoe, they felt ok.

The soles on these shoes were not cushioned enough -- my feet hurt after just testing them inside for 15 minutes! Otherwise, they appear to be well-made.

I've had these for a couple of years. They never seemed to get worn in. Hard as a rock. Hurt my feet as a result. As far as I know, this is a New Balance company but nothing like New Balance sneakers. Insole is removable for orthitics. I wouldn't buy again, and wouldn't recommend.

These shoes were very comfortable, but as I feared they just look too manly for me. I just couldn't make myself keep them. Wish they could combine that comfort with a little more style.

These are nice shoes with the deep toe box that I wanted. I have narrow heels and even with extra padding and my orthotic and a heel cup, my foot slid out of the shoe. Unfortunately, I will be returning them.

Sorry, I did not care for the lacing, even though I hope to find a shoe like my New Balance 811, but in black and a bit dressier. And with lightweight crew socks for casual wear, sliding into the shoe was difficult because of the lining. I prefer leather, I guess.

The arch support in the right foot shoe was not aligned correctly, and the right foot upper lining on the inside of the heel was pulled away and caused friction on my heel.

The insoles are well cushioned and comfortable. Design of shoes could be better-it looks like old people shoes and this is coming from the pov of a woman in her twenties. Laces are cheap quality and doesn't help justify the high price of these shoes.

I was looking for a comfortable, stylish walking shoe in black. This shoe reminded me of a great pair of ECCO walking shoe I have in brown. They are a very nice looking shoe but unfortunately, it felt too tight across the top in front and in the heel area. I have a normal foot width and ordered it in the medium width but it was too tight of a fit for my foot.

These would have been decent shoes if the toe box were wider and the look less athletic. I was seeking a shoe that would allow me to walk all day comfortably and still be able to dine at a nice restaurant (while wearing a pair of dark slacks) in dressy Europe. However, these still don't look "classy" enough and that the toe box is too pointed. NB shoes are known for their wider toe box but these are an exception. The best part of these shoes are the memory foam-like lining. They relieve my metatarsal pain, though there is modest arch support. I hope shoe designers of Aravon read this review and incorporate my suggestions in the upcoming designs.

I bought these shoes several years ago and love them. They were comfortable yet supportive for my narrow foot. I actually wore down the heel from wearing them so often so I decided to order a new pair. I was shocked when I opened the package. I thought they sent me the wrong model of shoe. It looks nothing like my previous pair except that they were both black. They are made of a hard leather, not narrow even though that is what I ordered. They look like steel toed construction boots. Very disappointed.

I had several pairs of these in the past when Aravon was a owned by New Balance. I am a 9 or 40 usually. The nubucks which are no longer made apparently fit perfectly. But the black leather fit well enough too. This pair purchased in 2019 is definitely too small by about a half size. I wish the black Nubuck were still being made and true to size like the old ones. It was a great shoe for my foot which is a medium with a narrower heel. I see that other people on various sites have said the same thing.
