I bought these for my 18 year old daughter and she loves them! I quizzed her on the fit and comfort questions so as to report accurately!

I have a pair of matte hunters... I actually used them before they got popular. I live on a farm, and it's great to muck the stalls in them. Now that they've become popular, I got navy blue ones in a size 7. I normally am a size seven, so I tried them on, and they fit. They are amazing and durable! If you are actually going to use them for outside work, don't buy the gloss. I hoped this helped!

I'm sad these didn't work for me. I usually wear an 8.5 or 9 in boots (sometimes an 8 in Frye boots), and the 8 in these fit great in the foot. The overall style and look is also great, but the calf was way too small on me. I can't believe it; I honestly have never had a problem with boots fitting me in the calf area. I could have worn these, but only if I wore tights. Jeans would not fit in the boot. I sent them back and am ordering the Huntress. I wish the Original's came in an extended calf size.

These are great! I ordered a 7 in the Graphite, (normally a 7.5) and they fit perfectly. They are not as glossy as pictures, and the graphite color is a little on the gray-blue side for me, but that's ok. Haven't tested them out in the rain yet-but hopefully they'll do great as they consistently receive fantastic reviews.

I was so excited to find a pair of boots that were both practical and didn't look like grody men's workboots; I bought both these Hunter Gloss boots and a pair of Hunter Welly fleece socks. I just got them today and discovered that the boots taper in at the top of my calves so that I can't tuck in my pants in the boots very comfortably. This is funny to me, because my mom used to always say I had "bird legs" so I don't know how other people are able to wear them! When I tried on the Welly socks with my pants, they were almost too tight to get off! Needless to say, I'm sending them back. I'm very disappointed. I am a size 8 in shoe and I bought the size 8; they were roomy, but would've probably worked out fine in the foot, they just have a strange quirk in the shaft of the boot. I'm going to try out the less-stunning Hunter Original and see if those will fit better.

I ordered these glossy boots in beautiful Graphite gray. However, they feel a little tighter than my old pair in the same size. I don't know if it's because my old boots have a little bit of give in them, but still I found it weird since I expected the sizing to be the same. Zappos shipping time is unbelievably fast. They are well worth what I paid for.

I ordered these about 2 weeks ago. Ship was great, super fast! Upon opening the boot I was initially dismayed. I purchased the military/glossy red. Mine arrived with a white film on them, no gloss look at all. I chalked it up to sitting in a warehouse somewhere. Wore them for the 1st time today. Thought that wiping down with a warm wet rag would be sufficient. The film came right back. With a typhoon outside, needed to wear them anyway. Also, I cant get the buckle on the side to lay flat like the picture. Im beginning to wonder if these are authentic. Id like to see a few pair up close to see if there are issues with my buckle or if this is how they are made. I can say that they were truly comfortable. Just not worth the money for the way they look.

I so badly wanted to fall in love with these boots, because they look so stinkin' cute. I love the violet color (which is really a beautiful bright raspberry) and the taller than average height is great, even though I'm only 5'0". I love that they hit just under the knee, and have a perfect heel height. Unfortunately, there were two main problems that forced me to return them. First, I'm a half size and that left me completely in the lurch. I normally wear a 5.5 medium and the 6 was huge and the 5 was too small. The size 6 was comfortable with the fleece wellies socks (sold separately) but I wouldn't wear fleece socks in the Summer and they were too big with regular socks. Secondly, I have very skinny calves and these wouldn't even remotely be called snug on average sized calves. Even with jeans, these were huge around the calf. So the moral of the story is, they are very true to size and not for those with skinny calves. I kept the fleece socks to wear with the replacement boots I'm now hunting for. I'd pay double for a pair of Hunter skinny boots if they existed!

Well, I had to try these, despite all evidence to the contrary -- knowing almost full-well they'd be too tight in the calf, and they were. Not so tight I couldn't fit my skinny jeans in (I have 14" calves) but tight enough that it would've been fairly uncomfortable walking dogs all day, which is what I do for a living. Tight calves gave way to extremely loose ankles, too -- which were bunching up while I walked around the living room. I guess it's just that these boots, the high hunters, are made for people of a certain shape of leg -- not curvy or athletic, definitely. So, back they went. I'm trying the Hunter short boots next, because I didn't want to go through the heartbreak of trying the Huntresses and being disappointed again. High hopes.

I really wanted to like these boots. This is my third pair that I've ordered and tried, and I just don't understand how people consider them comfortable. I am sending them back. I am an 8.5, and I think that's the problem... the 8 feels too tight (with welly socks), and the 9 feels HUGE. So I'm going to continue the search for a good pair of rain boots but can't justify the price of these due to how uncomfortable they are.

Another brand ruined by offshoring manufacturing to you-know-where. Now has a seam where there was not one before; sizing is off; and general quality, overall, about the same as other cheap rain boots.

These were foggy when I got them, not shiny at all. I should have sent them back. Oh, and wear cushy socks and bring some band aids for your heels. Mine rubbed and gave heel blisters.

Tightly disappointing: I purchased size 7 (I typically wear a size 7 1/2 or 8 in shoes and an 8 1/2 in running shoes and have wide-ish feet). These boots are well made, however they are made in China, not Scotland (anymore). I already knew this and bought them anyway as I am looking for quality boots to replace my cheapies. The lining is nice, and the footbed is padded with a (probably) removable insole; the foot part in plenty big enough even with thick socks, even wide feet. If you can get the boot up to your calf, that is. Straps are for decoration only- they are not functional. The inner circumference/calf of the size 7 is only 14.5 inches. Many ladies will not be able to wear these! I am one of them, sadly. Cheapies I tried at other stores fit, and I can tuck jeans in, but these cut the circulation off. My cheapies split at the seams. Out of curiosity, I may try the shorter version one day, but I am super disappointed in these boots due to sizing. For the price, they should make a larger calf size, ie 16 inches.

I can't say that I didn't love the boot. I can tell you that they were extremely tight on my legs but felt fine as far as how my feet fit. The issue I had is that these were over $100 and I received them extremely dirty and scuffed up. That is the reason for my return and why I probably will not purchase this boot again. Both boots, not just one was completely dirty and marked up. I attempted to clean one off in case it was just due to packaging but the white residue would not come off of the boot.

Comfortable but came totally covered in a mottled dirt that wouldn't wipe off the shiny surface.

I ordered these boots in black gloss. When the boots arrived, it looked as if the gloss was smudged. Upon further inspection, the gloss had actually rubbed off. I immediately exchanged the boots for another pair. Again, the same problem. I read many reviews on the gloss boots and none of the reviewers mentioned this problem. I am returning both pairs of boots. Each boot is not individually wrapped and are placed in the box side-by-side. I think the gloss is rubbing off during shipping because the boots are rubbing against each other. I am disappointed because the boots are super cute. I did go down a size, and they fit well. However, if you are planning on wearing these boots with heavy socks, then I would recommend a half-size down.

Come on Hunter! Can't we have a happy medium between the toothpick width originals and the baggy, short Huntresses? I've never had a problem with the calves on my boots being too tight. I'm a runner so my calves are toned and have shape to them. I want to be able to tuck my jeans into my Hunters with a little space to spare. Not possible with these. They are going back and my dreams of owning a pair of Hunters will stay just that until Hunter gets the memo that there are women with medium sized calves.

These were actually a Christmas gift for my daughter. She absolutely loves them. She loves the styles and comfort. She is one Happy girl with these new boots!!
