The boot definitely feels a bit smaller than a regular size due to the shearling lining inside. I normally order an 8M in sneakers and 7.5M in dress shoes. I ordered an 8M in these and they are snug but not uncomfortably tight in the footbed.
The ankle is especially snug and while I don't have particularly muscular calves, I am hoping the suede can be stretched to make them a little more comfortable.
I would recommend thinner socks and very fitted skinny jeans or leggings when wearing these if you hope to have them fit more true to size.
The shearling lining is everywhere inside - the footbed, the top of the shoe, and the ankle areas. The color of the shearling is a gray-brown and you can see a tiny bit of it while wearing the boots as you'll see in my video. I would wear these with grey or brown tones.
I bought these boots as a more comfortable alternative to hard soled boots for when I do a lot of city walking. The rubber sole has some added texture for grip, but more importantly to me - it has some give to act as shock absorption while walking. Between the sole and the shearling liner, I don't see having a problem walking around for extended periods of time on sidewalks and asphalt.
This boot effectively balances a look between "dressy" and "rugged". I can see wearing these with tights and a chunky knit sweater dress or jeans and a sweatshirt.
Wearing them around the house, the breathability of these boots are great. My feet were warm but not sweaty. Given the nature of suede, I would recommend getting a suede brush to buff out markings and scuffs that will happen with any suede shoe.
Lastly, since Zappos only has a video of these boots mostly covered up by jeans, I created my own to give you a sense of how they fit with skinny jeans.

I bought these boots at the end of last season, and couldn't be happier with them. Being prone to both plantar fasciitis and metatarsalgia, I have difficulty finding footwear that doesn't aggravate one or the other. These boots fit the bill. They're extremely comfortable and look good; thanks to their waterproof construction and shearling lining, my feet have stayed warm and dry through snow and rain. I'd advise anyone whose going to wear heavy socks with them to order a half-size up; for me, the shearling is such a good insulator that silk sock liners are enough.

Let me begin by saying I love, love, LOVE these boots! They look amazing and are so comfortable. And the warmth combined with the extremely beautiful design and appearance make this an excellent choice. But here's my quandary: I ordered these and a couple of other brands to try on because I need a new pair of boots for snow, cold-weather and, mainly, DOG-WALKING! I've had a pair of Uggs Brooks (short) for 9 years and, sadly, Ugg doesn't make the short ones anymore, only the tall ones. I really "dogged" (pardon the pun) the Uggs up and they took all the mud, rain, snow, goose poop, ice salt and rocky terrain that was dished out. But these Vogue boots are almost too nice. The Vogue boots seem to have all the warm of my Uggs, but they are so much more stylish and flattering than the Uggs. Even though they are suede, my understanding is that they are also waterproof (or water-repellent) so that isn't the issue. But they lack a few attributes that the Uggs have. For one, once you zipper these up, the fit around the ankle is very snug. I have narrow ankles and calves, but I think the fit would be a bit too tight with leggings or thick socks, and skinny jeans tucked into these would definitely be uncomfortable around the ankle/calf. I doubt most people would even be able to zipper them. So, barefoot, or with thin tights or socks, these are great! They would look awesome with a skirt. They almost are sexy! But are they practical for my purposes? I'm not sure. Since they don't go much above the ankle, they don't provide the full warmth that something like the Uggs Brooks Tall provide. And that is exactly why I'm probably going with the Uggs. I wish I could be indulgent and keep these "just because". :(

Love these boots! We had our first big winter storm with lots of snow, wind and very cold temperatures. These boots have been wonderful! My feet have been warm, dry and comfortable even while wearing thinner socks. I think these boots would be too narrow for me to wear heavy socks with them. They are stylish enough for my day-to-day winter activities. I have owned other La Canadienne boots and I assume these will last for years as have my others.

Some LC boots might be okay, but avoid anything shearling because they can rip. LC\'s customer service is very poor, so don\'t expect help if you have a problem with their products.

Bought these for my 87 year old mom (who is actually kind of stylish and walks at least 10 NYC blocks a day). These are beautifully made and the lining is super soft and warm, and it runs all the way to the toes. Four stars for style because, although they are good looking, they're not as sleek as some of the other La Canadiennes that do not have fur inside. They're very round in the toe. They were true to size but did run a little narrow on her medium-width feet probably because of the fur. She chose the Ara Page which are not waterproof or nearly as warm but look more streamlined.

These shoes are really cute, really comfortable and really warm. They are a bit tight in the toe box, though.

I ordered these boots in the fall and today got my first chance to wear them. We got our first heavy snowfall and frigid temperature. These boots are perfect for me. I've had achilles tendinitis and find most shoes and boots impossible for me. I ordered my normal shoe size and the fit is perfect. I intend wearing them for dress, so I will not be wearing heavy socks (they would be too tight with socks). I hope these last as long as the last pair of shearling LaCanadienne boots I bought 23 years ago (I still wear them).

I love these boots. They are totally comfortable. I almost hate to take them off at night. I did buy a half size larger than my last pair of LaCanadienne and they fit me perfectly. They are not inexpensive, however, they are worth every penny.

Love these boots! If you want to wear socks with them, get a larger size! I wear them barefoot or with stockings. They look great -- are dressy enough to wear with any occasion.

Love this boot but I ordered a full size up and it was still too small and it was narrow.
