I have several of these Patagonia bags and they're great for travel and for carrying books and stuff around during a long day in the city. Very lightweight, durable and practical.

Great for travel, folds into its own pouch, lightweight, holds a lot without the bulk, cross body for easy use and carry, but can be shortened for shoulder carry. Overall a great bag.

I bought this bag originally as a back up diaper bag for our trip to Europe. Not only did it fill this role perfectly, but once we were back home I gave up my other diaper bag (heavy and bulky) and I have only used this one since!

Great bag. Wanted a Musette-style bag for schlepping a few things to the beach or when out with my kids. Like the bottle pockets and the strap with its mesh padding and adjustable length is great. Minimalist and perfect!

This is a good, lightweight bag but I think the dimensions are slightly off. The bag is more like 16.5 inches wide unless you count sticking something in the outside pockets. It still will make a great bag for an upcoming trip abroad. Wish it was waterproof.

I love this bag. I bought it to tote around Disney World and it worked beautifully. I love how easily it folds up in it's little pouch and how light it is. I just wish they had more colors available. Totally worth the money.

Fantastic light weight smaller shoulder bag with adequate storage and zippered pockets both inside and out. After reading some reviews, I also used a carabiner to secure the buckle from inadvertently opening and slipping off the end of the strap. Inside, I'll attach my camera leash to the carabiner for added security while traveling in Europe. I'm still going to wear a money belt, but this will be perfect for smaller day to day items. Ciao!

This is a perfect bag for the busy person. Your "I need now" items can be stored in the front pocket and the interior bag has plenty of room. For any one that has back or shoulder problems the cross strap is very comfortable.

I bought this bag mainly because I fell in love with the bright green color. But when I got it I found ways to make it very useful. I travel a lot and right now I am using it to hold my noise canceling headphones, Kindle, inflatable neck pillow, lip balm, eyeglasses case, shawl, sleep mask, and other in-flight necessaries. I stuff it inside my full-size carryon bag. Then when I board the plane I just pop this out, toss it on my seat with my purse, and stash the carryon in the overhead bin. This bag is lightweight, sturdy, very functional, and a gorgeous color, and when not in use it folds down into its own pocket. I've also used it as a featherweight day bag on trips once I reached my destination. Highly recommended.

My diaper bag is too heavy, I want something crossbody, lightweight yet could still hold a lot. I came across some reviews that they used the Patagonia half mass as diaper bag, but I hate messenger bag, so I got this bag and gave it a try. This bag is almost perfect. I use it when I go out with my 15 month old for a 3-4 hours short trip, mostly the doctor office or shopping mall nereby. I put in the main compartment my diaper pouch (with 3 diapers and diaper wipe case and disposable changing pad in it), an extra set of clothings and a jacket for my toddler, his snack cup and pouch baby food, and there's still space to put in my jacket. I put his sippy cup in the side pocket. A bunch of tissue, wet wipes and pacifier wipes in the outside pocket. My key, wallet and cellphone fit perfectly in the inside pocket. My diaper bag has too much pockets, sometimes I forgot where I put my stuffs. This bag has just the right amount of pockets for me.

This little bag is amazing and I wish I'd had it in my life sooner! Lightweight but tons of space. You keep stuffing stuff in there and it keeps fitting! I carry a big notebook, iPad, book, and stuffed pencil case as my base but I can still shove a lightweight jacket, sweater and a long sleeve shirt in there without it becoming too bulky. The messenger strap gets a little uncomfortable if you're hauling all that stuff for a long period of time, but it's good to know that it fits. It seems pricey for something that folds up into a little pouch, but this will be great for an extra bag in your suitcase when you travel. I personally am going to use it as my every day bag. So much better than a heavy purse or messenger bag. Love it!

I use this in combination with an Ona Roma camera insert to comfortably carry various cameras around all day when travelling. One 35mm Nikon, a couple of lenses, and a Polaroid SX-70 all fit nicely in the bag along with film. The bag is very lightweight and folds up quite small, making it easy to pack in a carry on.

I bought this to take with me on a vacation to Spain, it was great for toting essentials around during the day and was large enough to fit a water bottle, guidebook, sweater, snacks, hat, etc etc - it actually fit a lot more than I expected. When you don't have as much to carry, it can serve a similar purpose as a cross-body purse. Love that it's so lightweight and folds into itself for convenient packing. I bought this in the purple color and my husband even preferred carrying this over his backpack! Zipper pockets on exterior and interior help keep things organized, but it doesn't have a solid bottom so I did find myself digging for things a bit. Overall a great purchase - very functional, secure, easy to carry.

Very functional travel bag. Very good design, comfortable and folds into its own pouch, which is very convenient. I love the bottle pockets and the color is very nice. Love the compact size of this bag too, can hold a little (wallet, keys) or a lot (add in a sweatshirt). Great overall. I have 2. Get lots of compliments.

This is ultra light but amply tough. It stuffs flat into 7"x10", and it has a built-in, zippered pocket for packing in Patagonia MLC carry-on bag or Refugio backpack for airplane leg of trip. It opens into 15"x9½"x5", incognito, cross-chest shoulder bag for daytripping. 12"x9"x4½" Tenba PP12 padded insert loaded with DSLR body, telephoto and prime lenses and paraphenalia fits perfectly inside bag. The zippered internal pocket holds passport and wallet. The internal hook holds a room key. The zippered external pocket holds iPhone, Moleskin travel log and pen. Teh second external water bottle pocket holds a rolled-up boonie hat.

I travel a lot for work, so I wanted a durable shoulder-strap bag to use when I tromp around foreign cities (the shoulder strap is so no one can steal it!). This bag is great! The strap is comfy and the pockets are convenient. I put my cell phone, wallet, sunglasses, chapstick, cardigan, water bottle and umbrella inside (with room to spare). I don't think I'll ever figure out how to fold it up again (like it was when it arrived in the mail), but it flattens down easily...I threw it in my suitcase on the way back from Asia and it hardly took up any additional space. Overall I'm pleased with this bag!

I love it! It's so lightweight and expandable. I can put so much into in and it still doesn't get awkward. My one complaint is that the zipper opening is a little too narrow, getting my laptop into it is a little hard, but it works.

I love this bag. (Its compact nature had little to do with my decision to purchase it, but the lightweight design is definitely a plus.) This satchel has a great, super comfortable, adjustable shoulder strap. Plenty of school supplies or work clothes/shoes and my wallet, a beverage, and my phone can all fit easily in the large pocket. However, this bag isn't waterproof. This spring, during my two-mile walk to work, precipitation has pooled in the pockets and drenched the entire bag. Such an improvement would likely result in a higher price, but if this bag were waterproof, it would be perfect.

Overall this is an excellent bag. It is easily the best of the lightweight/packable style messenger bags (I have previously owned timbuk2's version). It would be five stars but for an issue with the strap buckle. It is easy to adjust but can open unexpectedly. I clipped a carabiner through the loop at the end of the strap to ensure it never runs completely through the buckle, problem solved. But a product you have to hack does not deserve five stars.

This is tacky and not worth the money! . . . It's like a free cheap bag you get at the grocery store! Shame on patagonia for making such a substandard product!
