These shoes do what they are supposed to and can handle a lot of abuse. My husband works on the tarmac at the airport and normal shoes last about 2 or 3 months (if that) but these last a little more than a year.

I am so glad that I got these boots! I work as an engineer on a grave yard shift and often work a double into day shift (that is 16 hours in my boots). I used to have a pair of Magnums that eventually got old. After that I got a pair of Wolverines that were ok at first, but eventually got worse. Magnums break in so easily and your feet do not slosh around like in other safety toe boots. They fit nice and snug. And as always, Zappos prices are great and ship free. My feet are happy again.

Almost any Magnum Boot. They all fit terrific.

Excellent boot! Very comfortable from the start and excellent support. The ONLY negative on these boots is the plastic eyelets on the top of the boots. Had one break and had to exchange the boots, but Zappos exchange was extremely easy! Zappos is awesome!

Pros: light, fairly well made, water-repellent. Cons: plastic lacing hardware, stiff upper material, stiff foot-bed. Result: Returned.

First of all, I agree with most people. These are the lightest and most comfortable boots out there. I do construction where you have to pass through metal detectors all day and having the composite toe makes this a breeze. I buy two pairs a year unfortunately because they fall apart twice as quick as the Redwings that I used to buy. I want this review to get back to Frank Van Wezel, the guy on the inside of the box. The first thing that will wear out is the waterproof part. I always make sure that I have a new pair before the rain starts up in the fall and wear the worn out pair in the summer. The seal between the rubber the leather of the boot will wear out and you get we feet, but the sole does not fall apart. The last pair I got lasted three months. The sole around the toe wore out and become a talking shoe and of course lost the waterproof part. I have a size 15 so when it comes to being lightweight this is a step above the rest. Redwing, Timberland, and others cannot compete with coming home and not having to feel like I took off 10 pounds. Most people do not understand lightweight and large feet are not suppose to go together. From the last point, I am not trying to bash Magnum, simply inform them to try and make their lightweight boot last longer.

I've actually had the opportunity to try out 2 pairs of these "Waterproof" boots. The 1st pair was worn almost a month before we had any wet weather. Within a couple of hours of our snowfall I noticed my feet cold, and my socks wet. - I called Zappos- they said "No Problem- new pair on the way" 2-3 days later replacement boots are here, we are good to go. Third day of wear-we have 6 Inches of snow- temp raises to 40 degrees and rain sets in, after about a hour out in the elements I realize I'm in trouble. BOOTS ARE LEAKING- By the end of my shift- I start into hard chills/high fever- spent next 3 days in bed. THESE BOOTS ARE A WASTE OF GOOD MONEY- THEY ARE NO MORE WATERPROOF THAN PAPER BAGS. If you live/work where it never rains then these might not get your feet wet- BUT then why would you buy "Waterproof" boots? But In the real world- marketing these boots as waterproof is a bold faced LIE! And should be prosocuted for misleading avertising!

I feel these boots are very comfortable, very lightweight, offer great ankle support, have excellent traction on all surfaces, and look great, too. I did have some problems with these boots, however. Within a week of my initial purchase, one of the top lace hooks broke off. Not while I was really yanking on it during tying, but while I was walking, it just broke off. The store graciously replaced the defective pair with a new pair, which have had no problems, save for the fact that in the interior right heel all the fabric and padding wore away, leaving nothing but my sock between my heel and the hard plastic heel shell. This did not happen at all in the other boot. Finally, my feet, especially my toes, seemed much more moist in the Magnum boots than in any other boot I've owned.
