This shoe is about the same quality as the Vans brand of the same type. After using these shoes a few hours a day over a month however, the threads started coming apart from the shoe. Also, this was on sale at the time I bought it, so maybe that was the issue? I know Pro-Keds for their quality and timelessness, but I was sad to see it coming apart at the seams. On a sizing note, make sure you get half a size larger than you usually would. If you try on Vans at a store, you will understand. These follow the same sizing and I used that to determine what I should get.

Great casual shoe. Handsome and versatile. Fits true to size and goes really well with jeans. Super comfortable to wear around the city.

Pro Keds Royal - Glad Ked's went back to the blue heal logo. I just wish they would have used the original classic type style. If your going to to it, do it right. Had to order a size and a half up to get a comfortable fit. When Keds were made in the U.S. they were true to size. Nice style. I wish they'd take that sill logo sewn on the tongue off. I have to cut it off with each pair. I hate logos. These are supposed to be classic shoes. Less is more people at Keds! I bought the navy and all black. I wish Keds would make an all navy with navy soles like the all black. Then, they'd have something. I wonder who decides this stuff. I guess I shouldn't complain too much. You couldn't even buy men's Keds for years.

Just received my Pro-Keds Royal CVO's. What a great shoe! Very comfortable and a true classic, complete with the Keds blue heel logo. This is the direction Keds should be taking with men's shoes going forward. Very comfortable and well made. Will order the red ones too, for a complete set.

Solid shoe, nothing spectacular. The laces feel somewhat cheap, and the shoe fits loose on the foot after a while. But they look fine and good for general purposes.

Essentially, it's the more manly version of the classic Keds Champion. It has a much firmer sole, and a little extra durability in the upper and heel. The insole is comfy, but if it doesn't met your needs, it's slipped out easily and an orthotic can be put it without sacrificing a good fit. Definitely a good shoe for warmer areas or Spring-early fall time.

They fit me really well. I have narrow feet and Vans just don’t cut it for me. I always feel like I’m swimming in them. I’ve seen some complaints in previous reviews that alluded to the width. This is how I made my decision and I’m glad. So far, they’ve held up well. I don’t expect them to have a huge amount of support. After all, they are a canvas shoe. They do have a removable inner sole, which is a nice addition of you have an arch support or liner to add. When you look at the negative reviews, keep in mind that not all brands fit the same way for all people. I can’t fit into Vans, but that doesn’t mean I think it’s a terrible brand.

These shoes were just a tad too short and a tad too narrow. Usually I don't have that problem in either direction. I am going to order a half a size up.

Within a week of wearing these shoes, one of the seams have busted open and now I have a hole in them. I don't know if they just weren't wide enough for my feet, but apparently they don't hold up well.

What happen to this brand? I bought many pairs over the last 10 years or so and now the styles just aren't what they used to be. Why doesn't this classic style come in leather or faux-leather? It's only offered in canvas now. And the quality has really gone down the tubes the seems inside did some damage to my foot, there is no support and the sizing seems off too. I'm going to buy some classic shell-toe Adidas instead.

A massive disappointment. I had Pro-Keds when I was a teen and they were some of the best sneakers I ever owned. I was excited to see them come back. No padding, horrible stitching, fake suede (how do you manage that?) no arch support, very uncomfortable, especially considering how comfortable they were in the old days, not to mention an excellent basketball shoe. You'd be better off playing hoops in bare feet or ski boots.

You want to be stylin' this summer? You want to stay fresh and get looks? Well, then why didn't you buy these yet?! The Pro-Keds Royal are the hands down classiest, sexiest and most stylish sneakers you'll wear...ever. Throw on a fresh pair of fitted crew shorts and a new T, along with the Pro-Keds Royal, and there you have it! You'll be the dopest kid in the whole school.

So far these have been fantastic sneakers. The color is a strong blue, and the racing stripe on the side of each shoe is a nice touch. The canvas is thicker and much more substantial than similar shoes, that makes these a bit better for wearing in cooler temperatures. You will not want these during a blizzard, but they will be just fine for a chilly fall evening. Sizing is true to size, I wear an 8 normally and an 8 in these feels great. And unlike most canvas sneakers, these have a fully removable padded insole. It is surprisingly comfortable, but the insole is not arched. Considering that these are cheaper than the two nearest competitors (Converse Ox and Vans Authentic) and the addition of the removable insole, the Pro-Keds CVO sneakers are a great choice for those looking for casual and subtly designed shoes.

This shoe has held up pretty well. It survived a really crappy NJ winter, and, after almost a year, I've only had to replace the insoles (mostly because of the crappy NJ winter leading to their getting soaked a coupe of times). Laces, stitching, and rubber are still holding up. They didn't have to be broken in to be comfortable, and, of the three shoes that I ordered at the same time, they are the only pair that I am still wearing 10 months later.

These are pretty good. I typically wear Vans and my only issue with these is they run narrow. I love that the insole can be removed to clean the shoe and it looks great all around. I did notice that the seaming broke where the shoe flexes pretty earlier on but the rest of the shoe is holding up fine.

They were smaller than actually size, and cheaply made. Didn’t last longer than a few wears.

I just received these shoes (blue canvas) about a week ago. I know that new canvas shoes, especially those without any heel padding, can be tough on the achilles, but these were exceptionally rough. After less than one hour I had cuts on both heels! I put them aside for 2 days. On my second wearing, with a good pair of socks, I thought I would try them again. Much more comfortable. However, after 3 hours of wearing the Pro Keds the rubber started to peel away from the canvas. Plus, the soles looked like I had worn them for weeks. The quality of construction is exceptionally poor. Even at the sale price, I can see that these shoes will last maybe 6 or 8 wearings and they'll be junk. In the garbage. This is primarily wearing them on hardwood floor and outside on my deck - no asphalt, etc. Now, at the same time I bought a pair of Converse canvas Chuck Taylor's (white) and PF Flyers Bob Cousy (blue). Yes, I got all three pairs at once. I really need to give up on Chuck's; the quality of construction has degraded over the years and they are even more uncomfortable than the last pair I owned. I thought I would give them one more try. Waste of money. Now for the good news - the PF Flyers (Bob Cousy style) are wonderful. The construction is excellent. The comfort is solid. I could wear them day in day out. The fit is true. I will be quickly ditching the Pro Keds and Chuck Taylors and sticking exclusively with PF Flyers.
