Great boots! Comfortable right out of the box and worn all day! They are supportive and sturdy without being stiff or binding. They do run a little narrow. Love that they are lightweight and easy to move in, not clunky and heavy like so many boots. Love them!

My first pair of Patagonia boots. It's very comfy. Don't know how it does on snow and ice yet since the soles are on the stiff side (soft rubber is typically less slippery). The shoes feel so good I'm going to try it anyway. I'll know when winter comes.

These boots are wonderful. Waterproof in rainy weather and wet grasses. I have not tried them in creeks yet. I wear a 9 to 9.5, and the 9.5 in this boot will allow for a thicker sock in cooler weather. I am a narrow, and they are not too wide. They can be a bit slick in muddy conditions. They are extremely comfortable.

Waterproof even after the blizzards of winter '10. Cut more like scramblers than hikers, they're closer fitting in the foot and ankle. Made with a soft, durable leather that is not too high on the ankle to hinder mobility. So much so, I often run in these during inclement weather (think super mudball trails) because they're very lightweight and nimble through the trails and over rocks. Sans socks, I still had to exchange a 9.5 for a 10, what I wear in a running shoe with socks. Still was a tad tight in the toes until broken in. I use Yak Trax for trekking through ice and gaiters for deep snow, but otherwise these offer good traction, are pretty stable, and warm to about 20 degrees (with wool layer). I scramble the billy goat trail (MD. side of great falls) and these prevent ankle rolls while allowing excellent toe traction in some of the tighter spots. can't say how they'd hold up under more than 10lb. pack, but it handles day hikes well. Absolutely waterproof, but 1.5 years later, the thread in one of the toes is pulling away. So far has not impacted waterproof integrity nor stability. I love these so much, I never travel without them. Wish Patagonia would make them in black but alas, like many great kicks, they may no longer be in production, so grab yours now.

I really like this boot. It's light, grippy, and comfortable, and it looks good for urban wear. The tongue at first was stiff and awkward against my ankle, but it has softened up and is fine now. I have narrow feet (and a high arch) with a long 2nd toe, and my larger foot just hits the toe box a wee, enough to consider getting it stretched. Glad I bought it.

After reading various reviews about other products from Merrell, Keen and Columbia, I opted to purchase these boots. I wanted something waterproof, lightweight and comfortable. We go hiking with our Labrador, who also loves to swim, so I often end up in ankle deep water or higher as we charge through rocky streams and muddy edges of lakes. I took them out today for a test run and they were great. They are comfortable right out of the box, and very light, too. Additionally they are both supportive and sturdy. They are also definitely waterproof (I tested this by standing in ankle deep water with no problem. I wear a 9½ in dress shoes and 10 in athletic shoes - I ordered a 10 and feel comfortable with a little room to add socks this winter. As always, the customer service you get with Zappos is superb; I ordered these at 10:00 PM and received the next day by 3:00 PM. My order got upgraded for next day service! Thanks, Zappos, for yet another fantastic experience.

Love, love, love these boots! True to size and so comfortable for a hiking boot. I wear them walking, running errands and hiking in the mountains of Virginia, everywhere. Great quality and the best price I found anywhere! I love the Patagonia brand.

These shoes felt comfortable right out of the box. After a short 3 mile hike up and down hills the only issue I had was a slight rubbing on one heel, which went away after a few more hikes. They do get a little warm on the foot in hot weather, but for the protection, stability, and comfort, it is worth it. I ordered up a half size, which helped with thicker socks and swelling feet.

For sure these are out of the box and are very comfortable...no break in time. In fact I did not have socks that day and wore them with tights. No rubbing or blisters after a 2 hour hike first time wearing them. I like a classic look and this really made the choice easy too. They have a great look! I was worried about the size issue mentioned in the other reviews but I had no problem with the fit. Love these boots and think you will too! Google Nelly Bly for whom the boots are named...interesting lady!

Love these boots. They fit perfectly right out of the box. I have never, ever put on a pair of shoes and not had to break them in. I wear an 8.5/9 and I ordered a 9 based on the reviews and they fit just right. Don't be afraid of the "narrower" fit described in the other reviews. These boots are leather and will stretch out and they are not too tight. I had ordered the Merrell Moab boots first and they were way too small in 9 and 9.5. I like everything about these better.

Awesome boots. Comfortable right out of the box. I tried some Merrill boots before these but the ankles were not comfortable for me. These are great!

Outstanding shoes. Comfortable, attractive and waterproof. Would recommend these to anyone. Size runs a little narrow and small which is good for narrow feet.

Great boot! I threw in my orthotics and worked for 12 hours with them right out of the box and they felt great. No break-in time, roomy toe box, great support. Well worth the money.

I have worn many boots in the last ten years...this is the most awesome boot. It is very comfortable and true to size. My feet didn't hurt at the end of the day. The rubber cap toe is a good feature. Great boot!

I researched hiking boots for a long time before settling on the Patagonia. We are day hikers, and this is the perfect boot! No breaking in, and as someone said, a little bit narrower and plenty of room in the toe box. Decent ankle support. We're planning to drive the Blue Ridge Parkway next month and take plenty of day hikes along the way, and I know these boots will do a great job!

These boots are by far the most comfortable pair I have ever owned. They were comfortable from the first time I put them on. No break in time required. Great support and true to size. Roomy toe box. I love them.

These are the BEST boots I have ever owned! They are soft and wearable right out of the box. In hiking, they seem to propel my feet forward! They look nice - a woman-looking boot, not a heavy masculine clunker. The size was true and the boots fit my narrower foot well. Zappos service was great - the boots got to me much quicker than I expected and in great shape!

I wanted a pair of casual boots I could wear to work in wet weather and snow as an everyday sort of shoe. I tried so many different kinds, ordered them and sent them back, and finally discovered this shoe. It was a comfortable fit from the box, and what I especially like is that I don't have to lace it all the way up, it's already laced except at the very top. It has a very comfortable fit, and does not look or feel clunky. It is true to size and is comfortable to walk in, handles the rain well, and judging from the sole, I think it will manage well in snow and slippery conditions, which have not yet arrived in this neck of the woods.

usually Keen, but their boots hirt my feet, as did Merrell

I love the look of this boot, as it isn't clunky like so many hiking boots. It does feel a bit snug, however -- short and narrow. I think a half size larger than my usual 8.5 would have worked better, as my toes are right up against the end of the boot. Hopefully, Zappos will get more size 9s in soon so I can try a pair because I really like the style of this boot. I am wearing them around the house to see if they loosen up, but I don't think that's going to lengthen the shoe.

This boot runs a little short and a little narrow. It is very flexible for a leather boot and has great support for arch and heel. It doesn't have a lot of padding under the pad of foot. I would think after a day of walking my foot would hurt in the pad. Otherwise, for a narrow foot, they are great.

I am a size 5 - unfortunately my foot slid at the heel and there are 2 seams right at the back of the boot. I do not know why Patagonia did this. I would have loved this boot if the heel would not have been an issue for me.
