After reading the other reviews I was excited to find a boot that would fit narrow calves (I'm 6' tall, size 11 with long, skinny legs). But alas, they are still way too baggy. I'll be returning them (4 stars on comfort since they felt like they would be comfortable, didn't actually wear them around).

These are very nice boots, but are slightly less graceful looking than the photos would indicate - the toe is rounder, so they look a little more casual. They are also quite slim in the calf. I have slim calves, and thought that would be great when I read other reviewers' comments, but they are so tight that I can only just barely get them zipped over leggings, and not over tight jeans. Quality seems good - nice leather but not too thick and clunky. They are slightly wider than normal, which was great for my wide foot, but the heel still fits well.

The La Canadienne Stefanie boot fit me well through the instep, had enough cushioning (so many boots do not) and for a riding boot looked reasonably dressy -- which is what I was shooting for. However, I found it slightly too tight in the calves and I have had that problem with only one other pair of boots (made by Naturalizer). So I do not think of myself as a wide calf customer. I think it's this boot, not me, that's the problem. And for this price, the boot needs to be excellent, not problematic in any way. Zappos is wonderful, though, and they are processing my return request as I write.

These boots are indeed beautiful and they fit like a charm. I bought a 9 and normally wear an 8.5 but wanted room for thick wool socks. The only issue is that they are absolutely not waterproof. On the first day I tested them in one of the Manhattan blizzards they started to slowly leak. I still love the style but wish that the boots had kept my feet dry (thus, the 3 for "Comfort").

These boots are not bad. I have small calves and they fit close to the leg when wearing skinny jeans. I can also wear them with thicker jeans (e.g. Real Straight style from Gap) but you have to fold the bottom and it's pretty tight. I wear these boots all day, standing and walking, and they are comfortable. Also, warm. Haven't had enough snow yet to comment on the waterproof aspect. I ordered several riding boots styles, all from La Canadienne, and found these to be the best fit (not too tight) and combo of casual but not too chunky/bulky looking. I also liked the Parma, which were also a good fit and looser in the shaft. But I thought they looked too casual to wear with a nice top. If you are more of a jeans and T-shirt gal, go with the Parma instead.

I loved the style of this boot, but the calf area was just too baggy on me. It fit well at the top, but it curved out in a weird way that made it bunch funny along my leg. I just cannot find boots for slender legs. This is probably my 10th pair that is going back! So sad because I loved the style, comfort, and waterproof-ness of this boot.

Since I live in the Pacific Northwest, I really like this boot for the style and the waterproof-ness. So I ordered my size (8.5M), and they fit my foot just fine, but my calves were too big and I could not zip them up! Sad to return these because this boot is perfect in almost every other way. I also would tend to agree with some of the other reviews about the leather quality being not-quite-top-notch. But the leather was soft and nice-looking.

These are very high-quality boots. I ordered 8 pairs of black boots, determined to find the best (thanks to Zappos' great return policy!). These were my second favorite. I chose the La Canadienne Tracy boots instead because they have a thicker, flat sole rather than the heel, so they are more comfortable for all day on your feet or doing a lot of walking. Though the heel on these is not that big, I think you would definitely feel it over time (I am not a heel person though). However, I think the craftsmanship on the La Canadienne boots is excellent, and I am extremely happy with my Tracy boots. They are truly waterproof, wear very well (do not show scuffs etc.), fit great and look great.

My search for boots is, unfortunately, not over. After much research I purchased these and they have not worn well. The leather is very thin so the shaft sags. The leather is also finished with a matte tone so it appears not to be the best quality. They are warm in the rain and also comfortable, but style rates a 3. For the price I am disappointed.

I love La Canadienne boots but the Stefanie is very tight in the ankle and with the leather so stiff it makes walking uncomfortable. I do recommend the brand I have several just not happy with these. Love Zappos and will order again. Thanks Zappos for such great service.

I love these boots. They fit my slim calves and are the right height. The insole is very comfortable. I'm exchanging these for a half size larger though because they seem to run small.

Just received these yesterday, and I can say that my search for boots with a shaft narrow enough for my slender calves is over! After trying on over 2 dozen boots, these are the ones! I love that they are weatherproof, I am sure they will come in handy when the snow rolls around next year. Amazingly fast shipping to APO in Germany, Zappos! Thanks!

Very tight at first, but after a month of wear over tights or leggings, I am able to zip them up over jeans. These are close to the perfect boot!

Think I will keep these. These boots are for people with very slender calves. I am going to pair them with skinny jeans and they were the only ones that didn't bag out around the calf/up towards the knee. Not as comfy as the Frye boots but the fit is at least there.

Beautiful boots, but a bit too high--it pinches my knees. Also, I don't have huge calves, but these feel tight on them. Oh well, back they go.

If you want to tuck in jeans, don't buy these. Extremely comfortable and true to size. Fit great at the calf (fyi, smaller than hunter rainboots) but they are so tapered at the ankle that even straight cut skinny jeans are uncomfortable. Probably only very tapered jeans will tuck in nicely. Wear these with tights or leggings.

I purchased these boots years ago. I cannot even remember the year. They have held up so incredibly well, I just can't say enough good things about them. They are well worth the investment if properly cared for and stored during non-use. They are timeless in terms of style and the fact La Canadienne still makes them says a great deal. Mine probably have another good two winters in them. But, taking my husband's advice and ordering another pair to have just in case they quit making them.

This is the perfect boot! I was hesitant to order because of the price but decided to trust the great reviews. So glad I did! I can seldom find a boot that fits a more narrow calf and doesn't slide up and down at the heel. These fit perfect in both places. I couldn't be happier! I finally found boots I actually want to wear!

After several attempts at finding the right boot, I finally did with these! the style is simple, the fit is perfect and the leather soft. I wanted a pair of boots that I could wear without having to break them in and these fit the bill. I spend hours on my feet facilitating meetings and these boots felt comfortable right out of the box. I wasn't sure I wanted to spend this much money on a pair of boots, but I can these boots are worth it.

I have been searching for a couple of years for a nice pair of boots so after reading all of the great reviews I thought I would give them a try. I am so glad I did. They fit beautifully and look gorgeous and rich. I have a narrow foot and heel, but need some room in the toe box because I have a couple of painful bunions. They have enough room and the leather is supple so they were comfortable from the minute I put them on. They fit closely enough to look sleek but you can easily wear them with pants tucked inside. I admit there was a bit of sticker shock, but I now believe they were worth it. Give them a try - you will love them!

I ordered three pairs of boots and these were the ones that I kept. They are incredibly comfortable. I am in my late 50's and although I am active, I have hip pain and some lower back pain. Comfort is a major priority for my footgear. I spend much of my time in supportive, well-cushioned athletic shoes (aka "granny shoes"). I wore these boots all day today and my feet and joints feel just fine! That has to be a first for me with anything other than athletic shoes. This is now my third pair of La Canadienne boots, and by far the most comfortable. Yes, they are pricey, but beautifully made and fit well.

I wanted to hate this boot because of the cost, but it was perfect. Boots usually slip off my heel, or are too tight at toes, or gather at the ankle. And I can usually put my hand up to my elbow into the boot. This one fit my calf perfectly (13.5). I wore it all day and on my feet most of the day and NO pain or problems - and that was the first day I wore them. I would get multiple colors if available and the cost were lower.

Love them. My 3rd pair of la canadienne. They are so comfortable and perfect for narrow calves. Really wish they offered more boots in brown leather.

These are beautiful, well made boots. My brown ones fit perfectly. My black ones are about three millimeters shallower in the toe box on the left boot, so the fit is not as good. The black ones survived a typhoon. They were soaked all the way through. But they dried out and still look acceptable.
